Yeah the last 2 with him have been painful. But I do like people who intellectually challenge Joe , because Joe is not an intellectual. I like when people aren’t intimidated by him.
Joe could quite literally qualify for the most patient man in history, how he managed to "Neil" with this is a true testament of what the human mind can withstand.
45 secs in and already hooked 😂 the way Neil talks is enough to just keep watching/listening. He really knows how to put a sentence together without sounding boring.
esprich it’s a shame, Joe could probably help NDT out with his media savvy. NDT doesn’t understand this format. He treats Joe a conduit for his own stream of thought
Could anyone share a link for any of Mr. DeGrasse's technical papers of any type? I would love to read his original thoughts of all sorts. Thank you in advance.
@@GregoryAlanBaileygamereviews just check ResearchGate. And, yes, he is a middling scientist. In my opinion even a bit of a fraud, but that's another topic.
@@GregoryAlanBaileygamereviewsReading Tyson's PhD thesis in Astrophysics wouldn't be fun or informative to anyone who isn't a physicist. So I suggest listening to his public lectures & speeches. Amazing educator.
You could tell Joe was getting irritated and started calling out Neil's bullshit more and more throughout the (one sided) interview. I used to really like NDT. I mean I still like him, but to a lesser degree each time I listen to his narcissistic BS.
@@doodefl262 This man has an IQ of at least 120, with a PhD in astrophysics and loves what he does. I guess he doesn't even realizes he's talking this much. I've had a handful of professors like him, and they were the best. You could see passion in their eyes when they taught their subject. At least it's very interesting stuff everything he has to say. It's not like a Donald Trump speech.
@@ev.c6 that doesn't excuse that kind of behavior in the slightest. There are many people smarter than he that exhibit humility. Listen to Eric Weinstein. I guarantee on many measures that he is smarter than Neil, yet a much more receptive, likeable person. Tyson speaks from how smart he BELIEVES he is, not how smart his in actuality.
But that was all. It did not look like Joe wanted to say anything else does it seem to you guys like there's a continuation ? It doesn't at all to me, it's just a fast paced transition and I think people are just trying to find faults 24/7 nowadays. Indeed, NDT talks like he's got no stop, and interrupts so many times but my point still stands.
The important thing to notice is how Joe rarely interrupted Neil. You can tell Joe Rogan didn't like being interrupted but his profession is to be the interviewer. With an actual astrophysicist across the table Joe lets the man speak.

Why is everyone complaining about this? Joe is the host. People want to hear from the guest. Joe is constantly interrupting his guests so this was a nice change of pace
I sincerely appreciate his view on artists. As one myself, it meant a lot that someone was able to put into words what so many of us can only express through visual medium.
Fun Fact: The assumption that you can Ice Skate is actually wrong. The pressure of an average human standing on the blade (about the pressure of a truck on a street) only lowers the temprature for Ice to melt by about (dont really know the EXACT temperature anymore) I think about 1-2 degrees, so from a temperature of 30 degrees or lower, you couldnt skate anymore. The actual difference is done by the friction created through skating, which warm up the blades and melt the ice your skating on, creating that tiny layer of water needed to do so. Ive held my oral exams about that, because its also depicted wrongly in the school books.
A show with guests and interviews SHOULD consist mostly of the guest talking. Perhaps not interrupting so much, but Neil's an awkward guy and I think it's just part for the course. It's also just his excited energy about stuff he's passionate about, which I also understand.
Favorite part of this whole episode to this day was the fact that Joe was more impressed with the grammar of the double plural "Fishes" than the whole scientific explanation of water freezing and expanding 🤣
I don’t get this perspective. Joe interviews people. We want the person he interviews to talk. Otherwise, Joe would have a different format. One that’s more like Ben Shapiro’s where he just talks to us about his own ideas. Personally I hate when the interviewer talks about their own ideas. All that said - Neil talks a lot.
This dude is scientifically illiterate on many issues. It's kind of shocking. People who own solar panels on California often still pay something to the energy company during heavy usage months and many won't even stay in that home long enough to pay it off. And there have been really good studies on how electric cars are not going to do very much at all to reduce emissions.
Dr. Tyson and his network are amazing, a lot more so than you would get from this interview ( not tht its not good in any way, just limits of the forum in its incarnation); always looking for interviews where Dr. Tyson can be unchained.
I only just discovered Neil through your show Joe, but I'm sold. Intelligent, articulate, friendly and able to explain complex concepts without pretentiousness, I could listen to this bloke for hours. Love your show Joe, bloody good videos mate. :-)
Very professional Joe I also appreciate your knowledg, the best thing you can give somebody is knowledge and I love Neil for that. Keeping it Raw hell yeah
John Lowe go to his Instagram and you won’t have a hard time running into some weird ass behavior. 2 minutes in I found a video of Neil with his tongue out rolling on the floor with a dog in front of his Hayden Planetarium office. Between him and a couple professors I’ve met I’m convinced most smart people are fucking weirdos by definition.
@@thert.hon.thelordnicholson7261 you probably don’t even consume cannabis lol. Anybody who is intelligent would be dense around Neil, dude is crazy smart
@@SparcMac11 It wouldn't if done properly. If they showed only the pictures being commented on, that would be 100% safe. If he showed only parts of videos that are relevant to commentary, that as well would be 100% safe according to law, but videos could still add problems by triggering ContentID, for which then they'd have to write counter-claims, so that's some extra hassle. Pictures, like I said, are safe and hassle-free.
@@sergrojGrayFace the guy commented "pictures and videos", but yeah joe has already mentioned before they can't do videos because copyright and usually they show most pictures if it's appropriate
Sounds like he took some adderall. When people first take it they cant help but to interrupt people and got give a fuck about what your saying. They're super annoying
