Whaddup brooooo! Haha, I was thinking about you while watching through this. Hope your area of CT has treated you well though man. Thanks for making great content! I know how good and fulfilling it feels to be deeply appreciated by a stranger so I hope me saying this does the same for you. Much love
Try staring a business or even just try living in Conn. You cant even wipe your bum without 3 permits, 8 inspectors, and a registration fee for each slip toilet paper.
I was at CT and now I'm in Missouri, and yeah I'm in missery now I want to go back to CT, these guys are stupid The girls are awesome, the state is beautiful, but the cost is shit
I love Connecticut. Born and raised here. And I’m 62 I’ve been all over the world and I lived in Australia for 5 years and Italy for two. I couldn’t wait to get back to my home roots. People talking shit on here should fucking move if they don’t like it. Nothing wrong with Connecticut.
I’ve been in Connecticut for most of my life, I’m from Hartford and I agree with joe. There’s so many miserable people who just want to bring you down even if you have good intentions. People will give you an attitude for no reason and treat you wrong, Random grown men will try to have “ staring contests “ with you when you’re just minding your own business , it’s super expensive to do anything here and the gun violence is ridiculous. When I leave I’ll never come back to this hateful place.
As a Connecticut native I agree, I don't leave the house or if I leave I only go to the parks or mountains. The people suck, the government sucks, it's Limbo
Get out! You will be much happier. I was trapped there for 10 years. I hated from day one. You will be a much happier person. Leave at any cost, trust me you will be glad you did.
Iive in Connecticut n trust me the governor fucked this state so hard. There r some nice pple n some nice places but the taxes r fuckin ridiculous causing all the businesses 2 close up shop n move outta state. I like it cuz it's my home state but alot of things need change 2 make it better.
@Rose :3 Got any good vegan pizza places to recommend that are comparable? I heard Divine Treasures in Manchester has some but from the website, it looks more like a sweets/bake shop. To anyone reading this in CT and looking for a good vegan restaurant, I have good news. Flora in West Hartford (right next to Whole Foods on Raymond Road) is 10/10 amazing. 21 Oak in Manchester is pretty nice too.
I live in Bridgeport so the goods schools is out the window and also it’s one of the more dangerous cities in the us it’s like a discount Brooklyn but way worse and awful
I used to think I got excited when Connecticut was mentioned in ANYTHING good or bad, since no one talks about us. I realize it’s more of a feeling of surprise
A whole lot of negativity on these comments. Connecticut is quite safe, clean, nice, friendly, high quality food and with loads of good people and the schools have caring teachers. All the people talking trash in the comment section either a) be grateful or b) do something to improve the facilities of Connecticut or c) move out. Open your perspective and visit other countries around the world and you'll see what a nice place you live in overall.
Windsor is really nice, good spots to smoke bud and trip as long as you don't mind the occasional person walking by. Everybody keeps to themselves, and as someone who prefers being alone or with my very close friends, it's really nice.
@@The_yeffy1 Greenwich is for insanely rich people, so you must be living pretty nice. Come visit Bridgeport if you wanna feel the real wrath of shithole Connecticut.
There is no hope, I live there. No work, its boring, taxes are getting raised again. People are saying Colt's there, but we cant buy half the things they make because AWB, the only thing it has is good hiking during the summer.
Robert Lee James Welch No exaggeration. Went to do a marathon in Hartford, after I was done, left within two hours to go back to New York. What relief.
As a foreigner, everytime I hear Connecticut, I think it's just some place that Vince McMahon and the WWE made up as a location.....sort of like coming from Parts Unknown. 😂🤣🤷
One time in Hartford, we had an off air show. Vader and HHH had a beef and Vader came so close to hitting me with a chair shot that my mom had to pull me by my shirt to save my face lol. Good times
Yea, and then hed be eating the pizza in shit hole New Haven while 30 guys on motorcycles and Banshees wheelie past him and some one gets shot in the face. The pizza can blow me CT sucks. Source, I live 15 minutes from New Haven.
I can relate. I plan on leaving in two years. Really a grimy depressing feel to this state. I can see why back in the cold war times Soviets had Connecticut as the number three target on their nuclear hit-list. They even know its a sh*t hole.
LOL....I'm pretty sure it was the submarine base in Groton that put us on the Soviet hit list. Depends on where you live, really. I live up in the Simsbury area and, frankly, its pretty effing idyllic....miniscule amounts of crime, no traffic, lovely countryside.......the taxes are high, electricity is costly, etc but certainly not "grimy and depressing", lol.
I was born and raised in CT and when I turned 30, said screw this and moved to FL in 2017. I don't know how i survived living there so long without going insane. Problem with most people in CT is they all hate it and all want out, but then they have a laundry list of EXCUSES and never actually take action to leave. You are doing the same thing. I bet 2 years will come and go and you will still be there with no plans to leave. Literally everyone in CT does this I've noticed
@@Lovetrain-io6kt you buggin if you live in Bridgeport 😂😂🤡 yk the only time it rains is when we get fucking side parts of storms from the south Bridgeport is food and party 24/7 the people are fine you just trippin
I LOVE CONNECTICUT ❤️ ❤ EVERY STATE HAS A GOOD AND BAD SIDE. just saying (he probably had a bad experience here with ppl or etc lol I can understand) I still respect Joe though it's just his opinion :D
I live in Connecticut it can be depression. I want out, I been here for all 22 years of my life. I feel like I can’t even talk to anyone in new haven. Anywhere in that fact. Honestly I feel weird being in Connecticut. I’ve been looking for jobs in the southern states, I’m getting out of Connecticut fast lol 😂
late response but I'm 28 and been stuck here my whole life and probably will be til the day I die. And everyone I know seems to be perfectly content or happy with the state (especially my dad... ugh.) so I feel your pain. Though for me it's not weird but rather just frustrating.
Having grown up there. Agree 100%. People are no worse than most places, BUT... NO CULTURE. NO ART. NO MUSIC. NO creativity. And the capital Hartford is 1 giant depressing, dangerous ghetto. Most people are NOT rich. And it's like the government doesn't give a F. No governor is trying to clean up Hartford like in NYC. There are some cute old money people sea towns but not more interesting than towns in better states.
I'm two years late but yes I moved to VA the southwest part with the mountains and not only is it beautiful like a painting but these people down here are so freaking nice i'n my area hold doors open the whole nine yards, it freaked me out at first being from CT because people are so moody up there that I had to teach myself to take that wall down I've had to walk around with for 25 years. Now I'm 30 and I love Virginia and the people.. CT is B.S i can say that as a native CT.. There are plently of good people there of course but the average native CT citizen has a stank attitude for no reason and they don't even realize it either until you come to a place like VA and people actually smile.. I didn't realize what a D head I was until I left CT because I fit right in at the time 🤣🤣
Joe Rogan has probably only visited the state's major cities, which are objectively horrible places to live. What's nice about Connecticut are its suburbs, which comedians aren't seeing when they tour.
+Shorpy Two best areas of the state. Northwest CT is more summer homes for rich New Yorkers (Kent, Salisbury, those towns) while Northeast CT is more classical New England. Rural, poor, etc. Depends what you're looking for.
Suburbs are, and never have been good. Suburbs were created by man so they can try and contain their wives away from important places of business. But it is demonstrably expensive, and destructive to everything from economy to climate. Suburbs are not representative of a place at all. The city centers are and the towns
Vino Poorly executed urban infrastructures, excessive taxes, highest rates of socioeconomic inequality, high sin taxes and fees, and high cost of living.
This is so true. I lived in CT for years and it sucks! Who on earth would choose to live there!? Everyone is so rude and miserable. The only people who live there are the ones trying to get out. Do NOT move there, it will be very hard to escape the state.
You guys are being so utterly exagerrating and ungrateful. Try travelling to a 3rd world country and Connecticut will seem so clean, safe, and prosperous in comparison.
It’s rock bottom over here. I hate it. And the No hope thing is absolutely true like it’s depressing af. I live in sandy hook area and it’s the worst area of CT because everyone here talks about it like it’s so welcoming when it’s quite literally the opposite. I can’t wait to move out before I blow my head off.
You don't move to CT for the cities...they aren't great, it's no secret. You go to live in the suburbs that make up most of the state, the northeast quiet corner, or the northwest hills which are about as peaceful as it gets all while having proximity to major hubs like Boston and NYC. There's no true central hub to CT which really throws off all the city folk from other states.
I'm from Alabama and I have lived in Connecticut for the past 25 years and I totally understand what Joe is talking about. sad part about it is a lot of Connecticut people have no clue how crappy the state of Connecticut really is. some of them actually think they're in some kind of big city. it's just a pit stop between New York and Massachusetts. and expensive pit stop it there there's nothing to see. absolutely nothing. but it's home now .
I live in CT and it's awesome! BUT... it depends on where you live. I live near NYC in Fairfield County. Such a great place to live. Fantastic restaurants, events, parks, music venues, beaches, museums, etc. But that's just Fairfield County. Visited Hartford once and that 1 time was enough! Lots of CT is just woods and farmland and small towns. Reminds me of the Midwest when I lived there.
Going to give a bit of pushback on Joe Rogan here. Connecticut is great *IF* you are wealthy and can afford to travel to New York City, Vermont, Boston, or Cape Cod. If you’re wealthy, you usually will live in the Greenwich, stamford, Darien, rowayton area, and the country clubs there are really nice. If you’re lower middle class/poor, you’re fucked.
I have lived in eastern Connecticut (since 1979. Admittedly most of the cities (Bridgeport, Waterbury, Hartford, etc.) are awful BUT the more rural areas, in particular heading north along the Housatonic river are beautiful. The area is very photogenic and is steeped in history. You will find many small, historic towns and you will also find an abundance of hiking trails, fishing, mountain biking, hunting and skiing. You are also within less than (traffic permitting) a two hour drive to New York City thus providing you with the best of both worlds. Yes…taxes and the cost of living are high and that is a drag on the state but it is otherwise a beautiful place to live.
Lived in CT for 39 years. Respectfully, you sound like me in year 36 before I realized the Earth orbited around the sun, and not CT. The whole state is awful. A pathetic state with residents filled with anxiety and coldness (figuratively and literally speaking). I could never be convinced to go back there, ever.
Agreed. Thank you rstone for a) seeing the beauty in this state and b) having the balls to disagree unlike rogan's fanboys. There's so much beauty in NE and NW CT its amazing
As much as I grew up in Hartford I felt like it was a prison and there was no hope but at the end of day it's still your home no matter what weather you like it or not
nice to meet you how are you doing today how is the weather over there you really look so nice on your profile how is your family hope they are fine?🌹🌹🌹
Joe, you 1000% NAILED the description of CT!! I’ve unfortunately lived here my whole life and I’m one of the ones who plans on getting the hell out of here someday! It takes a while to get out because your basically taxed for blinking and breathing and sitting in traffic - any way they can get you, they will!! There is zero opportunity, too many taxes, and traffic for days. All the good restaurants got put out of business by the garbage chain restaurants that now occupy the state. It is a useless state with terrible jobs that screws its residents in taxes!!
If you look at a population density map of connecticut all of the people live along I-95 and I-91, he's not wrong about the houses along the highway. That being said while it's certainly not a great place to live, it's not terrible by any stretch either. It epitomizes mediocrity.
It's the wealthiest state in the Union. Say what you will, but epitomizing "mediocrity" does not fit. If you've ever seen some of the towns that line the coast, they are pretty amazing...not that I could afford even a "tiny" house there.
By Per Capita income CT ranks #5, by Median income CT ranks #1. I agree about the larger cities like Hartford, Bridgeport and New Haven, I think I mentioned that in the post.
Connecticut Is the epitome of the country's wealth divide. The richest and the poorest people in the whole country right next to each other. Just a city away from each other.
I live there and i make $150k, it doesnt feel like a lot of money lol. People are definitely just weird here. Either they are too boring, too ghetto, too rich and spoiled, or too drugged out. Chicks here are the strangest
