I don’t know if you guys know this or not but Khabib is a bit scared of dogs, I have heard Javier Mendez talk about this funny story some time back, but I didn’t make much of it, until recently when i saw a video of the former world’s strongest man Eddie Hall trying to call his Dog for Khabib to see it, but Khabib told him not to because even though he owns a couple of shepherd Dogs he is still not good with them.
It’s probably due to the fact that in Islam, Dogs’ saliva is considered impure and if the prayer time comes Khabib Nurmagomedov, Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov wouldn’t be able to pray in those clothes if any of the dog’s saliva touches it.

Usman Nurmagomedov is a Dagestani professional MMA fighter, he is currently the Lightweight champion of Bellator MMA
Khabib Nurmagomedov is a dagestani professional mixed martial artist. He is a two-time Combat Sambo World Champion and the former UFC Lightweight Champion. his record is 29 wins and no losses.
Islam Makhachev is a Dagestani MMA fighter, he is the current Lightweight champion the lightweight division of The UFC.

Yes, but as far as I know, rabies is eliminated, it's sad that some muslims are ocd about this, getting far away from dogs as possible, some of them unfortunately even hurt dogs. Hadiths can sometimes be time specific, and we have been given an intellect to think, why would touching a clean, vaccineted, non-rabies dog would be the end of the world like some of these ocd muslims act 😆 that's a problem. But living with dogs in a house is definately bad as they make the place dirty, and they are clingy and require time to walk them.

@@oktayakbas4904 I wouldn't classify it as OCD, that's reaching a far too much. Saliva is one thing, then there the fleas, the tics, the transferring of germs from one dog to another and that's not even including the fact that dogs eat and lick any food on the ground. But the central point is the "impurities" or contaminations the dog has that effects the wudu and in some cases it requires ghusl.

@@oktayakbas4904 look you right, hurting any animal is wrong in Islam.. And it is clearly permitted in Islam to have a pet dog for safety and security! So I think it has nothing to do with Islam if some Muslims hurt dogs while I have never seen one doing so on Islamic purposes or being motivated by Islam to do so.. Secondly if someone takes the hadith tooo seriously and stays away from dogs, I believe there is nothing wrong with that like I believe you as Muslim love dogs but do agree not to keep them in home as Islam says which is not wrong at all!! But brother bear in mind I too love dogs alot, but there must be definitely must be some reason which science have not reached yet when it says Saliva of dog is impure and if contacted by a Muslim he will be naa pak (impure) for 40 days & so there must be some reason behind it and I believe we should not question that because as an example Islam says you are impure for 40 days if you drink alcohol and many question that Alcohol doesn't stay in your system for that long so why impure for 40 days. Also the rabbies comment was only my self assessment!! Furthermore, back in days eg 200 400 years ago people used to question then too and never got the answer and their questions are answered today because science was not that capable back then and today it is! So I am just saying believe in what Islam says there must be a reason as Allah is logical, most knowing, as a mater of fact he created us! Also idk if I mentioned that Islam allows you to keep dogs for guarding & security purposes!! Whats wrong if Islam says to stay away from saliva of dog and if we do so! In Islam, we can keep dogs but only for a purpose like as the shepherd dogs, hunting, guarding or for security reasons but NOT inside the house. It must stay outside the house.

As a Muslim let me enlighten you about Khabib and dogs. He's not scared of dogs, it even mentions that he has some shepard dogs himself. His reasons are Islamic in the sense that in Islam dogs are generally considered unclean animals, not to say you can't have dogs but in Islam you can only have dogs for a purpose like to protect property, to hunt or to Sheppards etc. You can't keep dogs as pets like people do in the West. Muslims believe the saliva of dogs breaks your wudu (ritual purity state when you wash before the daily prayers) so that's why khabib didn't want the dog to touch him. Also there is hadith that a house that has a dog inside, the angels don't enter that house. You do see some ignorant Muslims copying the non Muslims and keeping dogs as pets indoors but that's a clear indicator they aren't knowledgeable in their religion. Islam doesn't hate dogs, we love dogs and believe Allah created them for a reason and purpose, but just not to be kept indoor as pets. I hope this gives non Muslims a little insight into why Muslims generally feel uncomfortable around dogs. If I had a big enough house that needed to be protected, believe me I'd have plenty of dogs in the yard!

Muslims love dogs but do not keep dogs as pets but rather keep dogs only for the use of a shepard dog if you own a farm or if you live in a rough neighbour hood where there is alot of robberies. Dogs are very protective animals and are useful for the above reasons. Muslims are very keen on personal cleanliness and hygiene of themselves and their home.

as a muslim I'd like to mention that in shia sect it is forbidden to touch the dogs and you wont be able to pray in those clothes. Sunnis dont have this problem. So he is not afraid of them it is just forbidden.

... I think I read somewhere that the dog saliva is impure . Scientists did a study and they washed the bowl (once) from which the dog had taken a drink . The learnt the dog saliva ia still present . So they wash it once more . They do the test and again learn the dog saliva is still present . Basically they washed the bowl seven time before it was cleansed of dog saliva .

Khabib is not scared of dogs, he does not want them touching him; dogs are considered unclean and should only be used for purpose of guarding/shepherding not for vanity. We have dogs outside, but they are trained from childhood not to touch, no licking, no kissing on the mouth etc. I would have the same problem, if they come too close.

Yes i agree with u, there are several proofs from quran and the ahadith that says that dogs, even is saliva, are clean. "And narrated Hamza bin 'Abdullah: My father said. "During the lifetime of Allah's Apostle, the dogs used to urinate, and pass through the mosques (come and go), nevertheless they never used to sprinkle water on it (urine of the dog.)" Sahih al-Bukhari 174 In-book reference : Book 4, Hadith 40 USC-MSA web (English) reference : Vol. 1, Book 4, Hadith 174 But we can deny that there is a difference of opinions between the islamic scholars about this issue

From my point of view as a Buddhist, I respect our Muslim brothers and sisters ensure they at least pray to God gives a day. But as Buddhist we never a fix time or fix number of time for prayers. It’s important to remain connected and be one with Buddhas 24/7 day and pray as many time or as less as one can according to convenience otherwise at least two times day on in the early morning or in the evening any time. I also see many Muslims demands to have a seperate prayer room in many workplaces or if not provided then turns to racism issues. For Buddhists you can pray anywhere at anytime, even while strolling in the busiest roads in city, you can still pray, reflect and meditate. We don’t stop and forget praying completely until that particular time. Even while sleeping we pray and remain connected all time even in the dream. Buddhism is all about freedom, democracy, being kind to without exception…

@@OmarOsman98 remember my friend, when one of his disciples questioned Buddha about the existence of so-called the only God as you regard, he remained simply silence, did not even uttered a word about it. Now you will, because of our limited understanding to the natural existence of this phenomena, you may refute to my statement that Buddha was unsure, because he was silent about the God. But it’s upto you how to take it. There are many incidences such as as the legend has it. One time when he was asked there’s God, the creator, his response was yes. Likewise, his response was even no, no creator, if someone stated there’s no God. So, there’s three responses silence, yes and no. These responses were referred to according the intellectual capacity of the questioners or his disciples. His main teachings to the humanity was remain like him being able to abide in middle way, neither falling oneself on the two extremes that’s yes or no, to become like him, Buddha.
