What did he think Marques was on the podcast for? Like does Joe do ANY research before interviews or does he just send an invite to a random address and hope someone interesting show up?
@@mitchellz8 no. thats the point. its like a sincere conversation of 2 people. thats why i like his podcast lol feels like we just kickin it with the boys
honestly just not saying 'disc' kinda does that already, seeing as Frisbee is a product made by Whammo! back in the day and other brands make the ultimate discs pros use now.
@@SlyShippy The name "Frisbee" comes from the "Frisbee Pie Company" with which students used to throw around with the empty pie tins. Wham-O was inspired by the name and therefore called them that. There were a few other names before that but ultimately (no pun intended) "Frisbee" is the real name.
Never heard of pro frisbe but listening to him talk about it it sounds more legit than big balla brands fake basketball league or ice cubes elderly 3 on 3 basketball.
Was in Central Park NY about 10 years ago with 2 of my friends and we were absolutely dying with hangovers. A couple of dudes asked us if we were up for a game of "ultimate", we never heard of the sport but we accepted their request once they explained the rules. After a few minutes getting used to throwing the frisbee it was game on. 5v5 in a pretty long pitch. After about 2minutes I thought I was gonna die from a heart attack. Its genuinely tough. Closest sport to it that I had played before would be Rugby7s. It's just sprinting, throwing and catching but it's pretty tactical too. Not a bad sport but you'd need to be very fit to play it...and not being so hungover that it makes you puke.
All my friends played Ultimate through high school I eventually picked it up my senior year. Really good game to play competitively or just a pick up game on a weekend with some friends.
I have had the great pleasure of being the worst player on an Ultimate team, one tournament, with Marques. He is an incredibly kind and friendly person... oh did I mention that he is the most talented Ultimate player I have ever seen.
Dude his reaction though. I love ultimate and you just have to get used to seeing people just not know what ultimate is. It’s somewhat frustrating, but man I really hope the sport grows!
I played frisbee in the park yesterday for the first time and was surprised just how fun (and intensive) it is. It was great. All the sports I've played have never felt as much as 'play' as this sport right here. Gonna join my uni team!
Ultimate is awesome. If your school has an ultimate team, please join it (even if you don't even know how to throw or catch). Ultimate is one of the only sports to have self-advocacy and self-integrity (players act as their own refs). Everyone in the ultimate community is awesome and nice (which is encouraged by Spirit of the Game). And if your school doesn't have an ultimate team, you should make one! I was lucky enough to have 3 of my middle school teachers be pro ultimate players.
It's also growing in Europe. Check out Freespeed Basel ;-) We went to play the World Club Ultimate Championships in Ohio - was awesome! Ended up Number 11 in the world. Don't think Brownlee was playing, though.
jamesbriggstown I THINK it might have to do with who MKBHD is as a youtuber. He’s a very clean online personality, doesn’t get involved with politics, doesn’t curse or do drugs. I think he is also religious (not entirely sure). Plus he is also very young.
When he says he’s missing out on points while playing, is that because of it. It tracking steps? Or heart rate over time? I stick my watch in my pocket to keep up with steps when I can have it on my wrist. Band is quick connect.
I play for my high school, which is ranked top 10 in the country by Ultiworld (idk how accurate Ultiworld is but that's all I've found). I will confirm, it is very fun. If you can change directions and jump at all, you should try it
I've played with some of my friends who play competitively and they all say I should join because apparently I'm pretty good. The problem is my high school doesn't have a team.
It's not a frisbee... it's a disc. I would not have guessed that Joe didn't even know the difference between Disc Golf and Ultimate... glad he does now.
What do they mean when they someone is explosive? I hear joe say that about working out too but i still don’t understand it :( English isn’t my first language so maybe that’s why
Explosive strength means a big quick burst of strength. For example someone who lifts a 300 pound weight one time, vs a 50 pound weight ten times. The 300 is explosive strength and the 50 is endurance strength
As a player since 1979, I'm bugged that they're still saying ultimate FRISBEE, instead of just Ultimate. Seems to me I stopped saying Frisbee in about 1990.
