Marques is a great guest!! His extremely knowledgeable and his conversation flows. You can also just pick up on what an amazing, kind, humble person he is.....gotta love that in a soul.
In his videos he seems to have less personality but just telling stories of the old tech he used to have in high school definitely makes him more interesting.
Hahaha! I was just thinking the same thing, but more from a mother, aunty, sort of perspective. He came a long way and is doing such a good job. Wonderful guy. Joe should ask him again some day.
@@talaverajr391 Jony Ive you know the designer of apple his dream job was to desing cars not computers The red line on Nikon wich its the now their singature trademark is from the famous Italian CAR designer Giorgetto Giugiaro Desing on cars are pretty important.
The amazing thing about Rogan is his ability to maintain a long and interesting conversation about almost anything and get the best information out of informed guests
Basically someone who doesn't know a lot on one thing but a little bit on a bunch of things... gives him ability to have a conversation on a wide range of shit
I did that to a couple many years ago, when I worked at a department store. I sold them a dental insurance, extended warranty, 24-month credit with delayed first payment for a simple, humble 300 bucks Samsung videocamera. I felt really bad for them. I like to think they were actually part of that "incognito client" thing to evaluate sales force.
I'd say that Joe knows way more about computers than the average uncle or even average user. He clearly knows the pros and cons of those laptops he mentions. My uncles barely know how to use a PC (which is understandable, they never worked with computers).
Joe should definitely have Louis Rossman on. He's one of the most vocal repair experts and has been at hearings to oppose Apple's battle against 'right to repair'.
Agree. Louis's videos really highlight how apple specifically designs products, policies, and supply chain for spare parts to force (encourage) people to buy new gear instead of a simple repair.
I used to work at an Apple store, and I always reassured customers "No, Apple doesn't do that kind of stuff." They release new OS updates, and it makes sense for your phone to eventually not run as effectively with newer software. When I heard this, I felt personally betrayed. I was unknowingly lying to our customers.
Dude it's just OS bloat. There is a finite amount of memory on a phone, much less than an actual computer. The OS takes up a certain amount and that leaves the rest for applications and for cache. So with every new OS release Apple adds more crapware that nobody wants, like animated bitmojis, and it makes the OS bigger. That means that on older phones there's less room for applications, so they'll crash, take longer to load, etc. For example, if a phone has 1GB of memory and the OS it was designed for takes 500MB, that leaves 500MB for applications and cache. If the OS bloats up to 800MB, that means that there's only 200MB for applications and cache. Is this bloating of the OS intentional to sell more phones? Fuck yes it is. Your statement that "it makes sense for your phone to eventually not run as effectively with newer software" makes no sense at all dude. Why would that be true? It's the same CPU architecture, the same code runs just as fast on old or new chips. Sometimes programs get slower with new features (like web browsers run slower because they support more advanced versions of HTML, which requires more abstraction layers to represent the web page, or a word processor might introduce a spellcheck-as-you-type feature which takes more horsepower) but the dramatic slowdowns in iOS is almost 100% due to memory contention and OS bloat. Basically if you want your phone to last a long time, never upgrade the OS after you buy it.
It was obvious to me when safari took 5-7 seconds to open instead of 1-2. I hadn't installed anything else on my device during whole time I had it, I just used it for surfing and emailing. I had no proof but I could definitely tell it was slowing down.
Microsoft used to (probably still does) do this with their service packs. I recall setting up an old pc on win 2000 for a neighbour for web browsing and email only. Up until service pack 4 the pc ran fine. And played videos And music. After service pack 5, the whole thing came to a crawl. Reformatted again and stopped at service pack 4. Bam, happy customer. Lol.
He's had plently of interviews wearing plan clothes with black people bro..... Lets not make race an issue on a video about apple phones! Life to short to be looking for negativity. Love

@@xman2738 since when did you need a degree to review cellphones on youtube? This idiot thinks having millions of subscribers is hitting the lottery lmao
@x man 'Degree in technology' lmao. Sure lets waste years at a university to learn about consumer technology when the information you learn would be obsolete within a few years, if it did exist you pleb
My issue is that whilst talking about recycling and being eco friendly, Apple directly plays in to and encourages the "Throw away" society we are in, "Oh your batter is getting old, Lets throw away the entire phone and get a new one" Like when they removed the charger they said it was to make the iphone "more eco friendly" When they made the phone harder to repair.
"so you know these ThinkPads they're so cool cause you can do this nifty thing where you take it apart entirely, yank the thermals off of the CPU, and use it to smoke some DMT... Have you ever smoked DMT before man?..."
SpikeyTarantula, Lenovo has best keyboard on the market. Any manufacturer can shove an i7 or i9 or Xeon in a laptop, anyone can shove a bunch of ram in it. Only Lenovo gives you all of it in the lightest package with a keyboard that is actually fucking awesome. Smiley cup-shaped keys are good. Travel is good, Lenovo has made the best typing laptop keyboards for 2 decades. There’s a reason those things are typically on a backorder 2 months deep, for people who know, Lenovo makes the only laptops worth buying. Get that, shove an m.2 drive in it, dual boot Linux, windows and set up virtualbox for a hackintosh and you can have all 3 environments in the best hardware configuration.
Suggestion Guy lmao, where do you think your precious apple products are produced from? On that topic, Why do you think an official apple phone charge cable is so short? Because it’s exactly 1 arm length of a children’s arm in the Chinese apple child labor factory, most companies splurge on adult Chinese labor and you get a full 6 foot cable because an adult arm length is longer than a child’s ability to do so.
Hushed Tones not the point. If getting free tech everyday is his bread and butter. Being at the apple keynotes for his first impression videos is the steak.
Luxury fashion. The moment where that became beat-you-over-the-head-obvious was when Apple starting selling 10,000 dollar watches. "It's smart!" Nah, it's just a really shitty Rolex.
Mitchell Hart seems like a you got s shitty phone, my iphone 8 is still running good, and im used so much to ios its almost impossible for me to get used to android, but i dont buy a new iphone as soon as a new one comes out, those people are retarded. But once again, theres retards both on android and ios
@@edmontontech2008 "You were the king of innovation, now you are the king of manipulation", this statement or anything close to it is nothing I've ever heard from anyone speaking to or about a Mercedes driver, including Honda drivers. Lol I've never said that anyone when I drove a Honda. Especially if I didn't know the person. Lol The more I look at it, the sillier it sounds. 🤪😂🤣😂
Danny Lopez you always hear someone bitching about how pompous and arrogant a BMW or Mercedes driver is, even though bad drivers come in all makes or models. You never hear someone with a luxury car complain about pompous Honda Civic drivers. It’s just an analogy which is in reference to something I didn’t think that I needed to explain. People will always buy Apple because it’s a status symbol. Because it just works and the customer service is amazing next to Samsung. I went back from an iPhone 8+ to a Samsung 10+ and a Galaxy LTE watch. Samsung in typical fashion, pushed an update to my watch that literally broke functionality. It was useless. Samsung told me that it was a me problem even though it was their update. I’ve never been treated so badly by customer service. Apple has literally bent over backwards in the past to make sure everything is right with my products. You think Samsung would show care after dropping about $1,900 worth of their products instead of blaming me for their update. I went out and picked up a Xs Max and Apple Watch. Which works for my MBP and the synergy is unparalleled compared to Samsung Link on my windows box. All in all I missed all the little things that Apple just does right. I don’t care about controversies. I don’t care about batterygate or anything like that. I care about plug and play audio that doesn’t require lacklustre ASIO drivers and a manual set up, a system that just works with my production set up, a laptop that can run my Ableton set up that won’t die in 45 minutes and the status of having these devices. Apple plays to their market. It’s why they will always be around until they start forgetting about the little things and customer service.
@@edmontontech2008 Your initial response seemed like it was a preconceived judgement of me. As if I couldn't afford to buy an iPhone, so I mock the Apple company. I could be wrong. Lol I actually buy and sell iPhones. iPhones are great phones and easy to use. I personally like the freedom of android though. I have a Samsung note 8. I have dealt with Samsung's costumer service a few times with no complaints. Apple was the leader in innovation and quality. They're the reason touch phones exist (and why lawsuits continue between Samsung and Apple.) Their phones were known to last year. The innovation has stopped now. They have nothing new to add to the table and haven't for years, while the competition caught up to them. They copied Samsung with a water resistant phone. Last year they started using Samsung's displays. Apple is known to tell loyal customers an overpriced repair quote, it's unrepairable, or a misdiagnosis. The insinuation to buy something new rather than repair is left in the air. Apple admitted that they slow down their older phones. That's a subtle way to push people into buying new, although the reasoning was to preserve battery life. Lol. (I'm pretty sure Samsung does the same thing. Lol) That kind of sounds manipulative to me. I stand behind my statement, "Apple is no longer the king of innovation. So they became the king of manipulation." Btw, I drive a Toyota now. I still don't have anything bad to say about people who drive luxury vehicles.
Yeah, I just discovered him on Twitter.. Apparently this guy is famous.. How and when did he get that famous lol.. There are a bunch of guys that are reviewing stuff on RU-vid
I never undertood the obsession with making things thin just because. I don't mind tech to be a little thicker, or thinner for that matter. But when seriously better designs get thrown out just to make things thinner it's such a waste to me.
