Me too! Also, "The Forgotten, Parts 1 and 2" Part 1 is like a short lead-in to Part 2. It has been reported Joe Satriani stopped playing The Forgotten, as the emotional effect was intense and too overwhelming for the audience to handle. Please review and react Jon and Dolly. Are you game?
Joe wrote this song for his dad who had passed away. It is my favorite Satch song. I have seen him live six times and he has always played this song. Gives me chills every time I hear it.
I first heard this song on WXRT in Chicago about 30 years ago. Even now, as I listen to this absolute GEM, I close my eyes at the beginning and I feel like I am literally FLYING through an intensely blue sky as the clouds zoom by below..... poetic beautiful stunning ..... I enjoyed your reaction ✌️🙏
It doesn’t surprise me in the least that you say that it feels like you were in a dream. The reason why it feels like that is because the music is in the C Lydian mode. The Lydian mode is the dreamy, spacey scale because it has a sharpened fourth in it. In this case, an F#. Another example is Yoda’s theme in Star Wars.

So Joe's Guitar's Therapist Asked, "So... where, Exactly, did He Touch You?" His Guitar said, "EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!....... but I LOVED Every Second of it!!!!" (hyuk-hyuk)
Was goin to the concert a summer day ..probly late 80 or early 90's, but murphy and hes fukken law strikes when sitting on the subway.. it railed out! How often that happens?? Fudge, i was late missed half of the concert. Anyway the two first vinyls i have but after that i turned away. Though i have a suggestion (no, a direct order) from this very album on Side 2 you must do one of the most cocky and catchy guitartracks ever made: 🌩️"Back to Shalla- bal" 🏁
