Hey Kim, hope you're well. Yes its more a theme than a song, one that you have to sit in your favourite chair with a decent single malt whiskey and listen intently whilst imagining what it might be like if giant trees roamed the earth. You don't even have to watch the video to get the impact of what the guitar is saying. I was hooked first time I heard it, then again Lydian is probably my favourite mode anyway. Yes, maby I enjoy 2 glasses of Famous Grouse, even if I just prefer beer just to get that Satriani atmosphere 😁👌👌 But that’s the thing with his songs, they grow over time. Songs that I personally did not find to special at the time, is suddenly songs that I find myself listening to all the time. My latest “discovery” is Love Thing, an amazing song that has earlier gone under my radar, and fun now to learn on guitar 😁🤘 See yeah 🎸🎸😁

@Kim-Andrè Sandnes - The Famous Grouse has passed the lips far too often this end too. 🤣. Defo helps get you in the right mindset, I was drinking Single Malt recording the Trees song, helps me relax and flow a bit better I find. If you go to my playlist there is every single track Joe has ever done mate, save it on yours as a playlist. Your bound to hear some stuff you haven't heard yet! And Love Thing I covered on here about 13 years ago, I pulled it as it was crappy video quality and sound.

Cheers man! Wanted to keep the deep lydian vibe of giant Ents crashing across the land in a middle world battle alive! @Ultra Free - Totally get the mystery thing of Lydian bro. I think this mode opened a door somewhere in my DNA, like I have some affilation with something else out there in the universe which I yern for. I remember sitting back in my chair after hearing this track thinking "We are definitely not alone". It's a thinking man's mode, if you've tapped into that part of your brain somewhere along life's journey you can only really hear this sort of music spiritually, otherwise its just not understood. @@chromebuoy -- I completely understand bro. I do the exact same thing. I believe that there is a musical door of understanding that is opened after a period of time. I remember waking up in the middle of the night, watery eyes and that moment was when I unlocked Joe's secrets to playing and man was it a sublime moment. Now playing becomes more of an exotic art than effort. Proficiency is the key to understanding these things.
