this is my uncle joe savage, when I was girl at my grandmother house he would sing and we would love IT!!!!!!!!! we did not know what we had in him!! I LOVE MY UNCLE JOE & I MISS HIM. but I LOVE this. THANKS MR.lomas keep him singing.!!!!!
He's my guy. He's got me through tough times and I'm forever grateful for the few recordings we have. Wondering if your family might have any home video of him? He's a big big deal for use blues guys.
Your uncle Joe taught me what truly human music actually is... that melody he sings"they got me 'ccu-u-sed of forgery" is the exact same melody that I would sing in bouts of isolation psychosis prior to ever even hearing this song or style of music. My origin of that kind of singing was simply the unending pain bubbling up in my nervous system, and I can tell that his style had the same origin... I guess that what I am trying to say is that your uncle taught me that the blues is an instinctive distress call rooted in human nature itself... and not just a built up cultural"style" like, classical, rock, jazz, etc.
Got me 'cused of theiving I can't see a thing They got me 'cused of forgery I can't even write my name Bad luck, bad luck is killing me Well the jail can't stand no more Third degree Now look over here boy I wanna tell you something They got me 'cused of taxes And I don't got another dime They got me 'cused of children And ain't any one of them was mine Bad luck, bad luck is killing me Well the jail can't stand no more Third degree But now look over here I wanna tell you one more thing They got me 'cused of forgery I can't even raise my hand They got me 'cused of murder And I'll never harm a man Bad luck, bad luck is killing me Well the jail can't stand no more Third degree I'm going, so baby So long
great job on the lyrics a point of correction tho he says ”they got me cused of children and ain’t naan one of them mine” and “looka here” instead of “look over here”
Love how his buddies look like they really are hearing the song, knwing what he's talking about, maye bringing back memories of earlier times they've heard it.
