I have been telling people for years that Jokic was better than Embiid. No one listened to me until this year. I have been saying this since 2020. Before Jokic was a champion, I said I am more scared of him than Embiid. Everyone laughed at me for making that statement and now I win. Thank you Joker for inspiring me.
@vineelkesavarapu5736 man you are terk8ng for jomic and nokic is very overrated he played a injured suns team without chris paul and deandre ayton .and jokic still can't guard Embiid yall love to forget Embiid gave jokic a 47 piece and hit the game winning shot on him
@@darnellwilliams8783 regular season Emblid outplayed Joker one game. WOW. Phoenix Sons played better without CP3 and Deandre Ayton was not even injured. You are our of your mind. Jamal Murray and Luka Doncic are Devin Bookers father. Never forget.
Embiid shouldn't of argued to the media about not getting MVP. Jokic's chip makes Embiid's MVP look stupid. Embiid is getting rightfully clowned for it.
@real-timerami5041 that was the gist of it wdym? If anything, what he said after that was him trying to downplay that statement as much as possible. "It's a team game 5 on 5" well the way him and James played it was 3-5. Maybe he should've mentioned how trash they were in game 7.
Giannis and Jokic are the two best in the league. Embiid doesn't deserve to be in that conversation. Hasn't deserved it since 2021. Both of those two delivered. Won 2 MVPs, probably both deserved to win 3 in a row, and when they weren't given their 3rd ones, they went and won titles. Embiid has just been choking for years now. And Embiid has had the better teams around him for the past several years.
NBA made the biggest mistake not voting Jokić for a 3 time, not that he cares that much about this reward but it still would be really nice for us fans who watched him from day 1 always knowing his potential. NBA media was downplaying him every step of the way, and now that he won a championship they are trying to backtrack everything they were saying the whole time. Respect for Chuck and Shaq though, they always knew Jokić was special
It's cause they thought it'd be racist to have a white guy win 3 years in a row that'd make like 7 times in the past 40 years they need that diversity ya know
The media is doing its job. We know lebron and mj should have 10 mvps a piece. I have no problem with them giving it to someone else its just that joel didnt meet the criteria at the time. He had neither the record or the analytics behind him to even be the alternate. He was clearly number 3 and so was his record.
“I can’t win alone” is a spit in the face of his whole team. Let’s not forget that at the end of the season and post season that the Sixers were playing better without Embiid on the court. Such a petty, overrated choke artist.
Hasn’t he done that a couple of times already? I think the process is done and is incomplete. It’s time to push the button and have new players prove themselves because Embiid is Toxic!
Embiid makes all of his teammates better, he creates plays and makes passes that give his team the best chance to score and he's humble....check that, I was thinking of Jokic.
Carmelo never had the type of help build around him that embiid had. Give prime melo half what the sixers gave to Joel and it's a final apparence at the minimum
@@kekwallace4774Damian Lillard is the Carmelo Anthony of the NBA. Not quite enough help but never ever wins anything and only plays one side of the ball and everyone just gives them all the flowers with no accountability. That s*** was never winning a championship.
@@kekwallace4774 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Melo got pampered everywhere and NEVER delivered. He shrunk substantially in the playoffs. Some players are just overrated and never live up to their own hype
@@patriclo9509 you on drug, 2009 he owned the playoff and kobe, just noone around him stepped up, on the Knicks he was alone most of the time, and he still owned in 2012
@@kekwallace4774 melo was “on drug”s. The only thing melo owned was a crackpe! His legacy is failing to show up for the playoffs, never stepping up his games. He didn’t have the basic tools to carry a team. He talked a lot of smack, but never delivered. Some people buy into his BS. Denver was so lucky to dump him on the Knicks!
Meh. I thought Giannis was the MVP of the regular season. But Jokic, Embiid, and Giannis were each deserving of the award this regular season. Playoffs are a different subject. Jokic became the best player in the world after this postseason. But the MVP is a regular season award and always has been. If we could retroactively hand MVP awards, MJ would have won more, Giannis would have won the MVP in 2020, and the list goes on.
@@sandman1008 MJ was the MVP is every season he played during the 90s. But the MVP is also about politics and it is good for the league to award more than one player every now and then. MVP is not only about who is the best, but also what is best for the league.
The Sixers had a playoff record of 3 - 1 in games that Simmons played and Embiid sat out. They had a 0 - 4 record in games Embiid played and Simmons sat. And during the Embiid/Harden era, the Sixers had a 2 - 2 playoff record in games Harden played and Embiid sat.... As hard as it is to accept - Simmons was never the issue on that team. He had his flaws, but he stepped up when he needed to in big games (at least, before the arrival of Doc Rivers). Neither was Harden. Embiid is and has always been the weak link.
Embid takes the air out the ball takes to many jump shots has no true back to the basket moves for a 7 footer he ain't it can't be the main threat offensivly
If you scored 50 at 50% and still lost, then you can say you can't win alone, you need better teammates. But daim, you were outscored by 2 of your teammates. Maybe they need better teammates.
Most will probably disagree with Me, but if I was Philly, I would trade both Harden and Embiid for as much as I could get. I know of a couple of not so well run organizations that would falling over Themselves to land Embiid. For everything Philly has done for Embiid, that They stood by Him in His early years while He was hurt and injured, continually built the Team around Him, and catered too Him specifically, it is best too move on. No matter what Philly does moving forward, Embiid will make it out that any success is cause of Him, and any less of a Championship will be His Teammates or Managements fault. As for Harden, get what You can, I think everyone in the league knows the story with Him now, what He is, and what He isn't. Best too get as many picks as possible, and some young up and comers too try to build a new core around.
Jokic is clearly a top 20 player all time right now, my boy. This Walton- Sabonis nonsense is already over with, he’s already surpassed them considerably.
Embiid led Joker in PPG and FT% (almost even). Joker led Embiid in APG, 2P%, and 3P%. Joker was only 0.2 APG away from becoming just the 3rd player in NBA history to average a Triple/Double for an entire season. Joker also makes the other players on his team better and they want to play for him because they genuinely like and respect him. But because neither MJ or Lebron ever won 3 MVP's in a row, they were never going to give it to him.
@@benjaminweiss1817 you crack me up, you read one person use "casual " and now you use it regularly, tells me you are a follower. let's put this conversation to rest. Go to Wikipedia and search Jokic ' records, he is 1ST in so many categories that not even the top 10 all time NBA players could achieve. embiid isn't even mentioned. if you notice the all time greats were not softys.
Joel is simply a second option like AD. Any team cannot win it all with him as a first option. It is what it is and thats not a shameful thing to admit.
I’m so sick of people saying he doesn’t have a good enough team around him and Harden (especially Joel). They’re rosters are are plenty good. They’re the Stars, they should be the difference maker but instead they fail. Then them and a lot of fans/media act like it’s not their fault and blame everyone else. It’s genuinely pathetic. So obviously I love this video lol.
Of course how the fuck Maxey and Tobias Harris are not good 3rd and 4th options its crazy pj tucker for his defense is good too like embiid is weird AF for that they have a great team their role players contribute but stars underperformed...
If Doc Rivers is your coach, your potential is the maximum ceiling. He’s incapable as a coach of taking any team further than it was just supposed to go on its own. That said, Embid needs to showcase a whole ‘nother level in the years to come if he wants to be remembered in history for anything other than injuries, taunting and flopping like a fish.
Character is hard to disguise. It’s obvious Embiid has serious flaws in his character and accountability is not his strong suit. Flopping and dragging his butt up and down the court seems to be ok with Philly fans… they get what they got coming…. Losers talking shit about their teammates… Quite the mvp standard…
Iverson was crap player. The best player pf opposing team. He would desteoy thw teams play by taling all shots ans not creating game Ns lose half of them tp score alot by taking all game shots
B*******. There were a ton of jokic haters who talked about embids defensive impact and ability to run down the floor lol those guys weren't Philly fans, they just hated joker
One thing I've realized about Harden as I watched him since his 1st game in Houston, his respect and appreciation for the game had eroded away through the years. Started around 2015 that basketball became more of a wealth and status for Harden. He focused on accolades and individual statistics far more than team success. Scoring titles and MVP seemed to be his main priority as he showed unwillingness and refused to play off ball. When the ball isn't in his hands, he looked disinterested and opposed to setting screens for teammates. When Kevin McHale pushed Harden to play more offball for easy points, instead of the offense being ran through James on every possession, Harden pushed McHale out. If Harden isn't the one taking the shot or setting up his teammates, then he is disinterested. I don't think Embid is similar to Harden in that aspect. I really hope so
It starts with LeBron, everyone else (at least a certain group of attention greedy superstars) follows his example. Stats over team success, when failing cry for more help, and throw everyone under the bus.
@@MrPainfulTruthnah bro, Lebron is an anomally, he’s the greatest floor raiser in NBA history with the heliocentric style around him since he’s a top 10 scorer and a top 5 playmaker but yeah, for the last 3 years Lebron does seem like a drama queen
I just think the way we label a person a Superstar should change. I think the hierarchy should be pro, role player, starter, star, all star, all nba , hall of famer, SUPERSTAR. if you have not lead a team to the championship as the best player you should not be called a Superstar.
I mean a s*** ton of starters are role-players. Also if it's a career that you're labeling, many All-Stars become role players as well as they get older. Superstar it's something that happens in present time. You're not waiting for somebody to get halfway through their career. Hall of famer is s in my hierarchy as well and it's separate only to Goat
embiid is like harden in his prime dominant regular season player who struggles under the bright lights while the denver duo both excel in the playoffs even more so than the regular season. either you a killer or you not.
There’s a pattern here every teammate of embiid leaves him or wants to leave him after playing with him for 2-4 years max this guy has shown that he is a toxic teammate more then once he is a chemistry hazard if I’m Philly I’m trading him and cleaning myself of this process
@@beedebawng2556 I'm sure all of his teammates like listening to his press conference talk, it's always fun taking all the blame while the best player of the team chokes every chance he gets. People are basically standing in line to get to Philly, who wouldn't like that.
@@beedebawng2556 You know Embiid personally? Have em over for dinner once a week? "Very easy to get along with" 🤣You know nothing about him behind the scenes. You only see what he wants you to see.
I am not a Joel embiid fan. Not even close. But if he played in a conference as weak as the conference that Allen Iverson played in whenever he went to the finals, he'd be in the finals every freaking year
@@underpressure07140 don't get me wrong Ben Wallace was great. But that team busted up really early. And LeBron didn't get out of the East until 2011 man. The era from 1999 until the big3 in Boston formed was absolutely horrendous. It improved slightly after that but LeBron James was in a perpetual Cakewalk to the finals and Joel embiid would have been also. The East was f****** trash
@@cheyenne11114 yes the east was weak during that era, and you're wrong about Lebron. He made the finals once in 2007 and ECF in 2009. Embiid couldn't even make it to the ECF despite having a way more talented team, and was always getting shut down by old man Al Horford and even Marc Gasol. There's no indication that he'd do better than Lebron during the 2000s, an era when there was little to no spacing in the paint so his interior game will take a hit
I'm no Embiid fan, but I have to say, his shot and play selection in the playoffs, as compared to the regular season, was bizarre. Most of that's on him. But I do place some blame on the coaches for how they set up his plays and positioning, and for not making the corrections to give him better opportunities. But with Rivers at the helm, nobody should be surprised there.
Nobody even tries to stop him regular season. The game against Nuggets (RS), he was defended by MPJ, who is the real liability on defense. He gives 0 effort. Overpaid. The game against Celtics (last game RS), he was not defended and it was a game without meaning.
It’s not bizarre. You just saw what happens when a team really tries to defend him. It’s unreal how much he struggled when he got doubled, also getting stopped by Al Horford. Just shows teams just let him do whatever in the regular season.
Here's another Embiid stat for you guys: Embiid has been in the NBA for 9 seasons. He's played 395 games. That's less than 44 games per season. Jokic: 75 per season. So next time someone makes the "he was hurt, he didn't choke" excuse, point out that him being hurt all the time is specifically one of the reasons he's not that great. Dude is hurt constantly and barely played half the games he was contracted to play. I would hate it if my fav team traded for this guy. You would have to give up a truckload and kill your salary cap to get a dude who's injury-prone and a choker who will blame everyone else every time he fails.
In the playoffs, teams design defenses to stop Embiid, mainly with timely double-teams. They also avoid giving him easy trips to the foul line. Since he is not a particularly good decision maker or passer, his offense suffers. However, no possible excuse for the league scoring leader and MVP only scoring 2 points in the second half of a game 7. That's just giving up when things aren't going your way. You can't double-team Jokic in that manner because he will adjust, and kill you with good decisions and laser precise passing.
Joel 🦆 Embid. He ducks Jokic in Denver, every flippin' season. He ducks responsibility for losing! His stats duck every (every single year) post season. The Duck 🦆 has earned his nickname!!! P.S. I'm a lifelong Jayhawks fan, and because of his interviews he's the only Jayhawk I can't root for. 🏀🤷
@@zacheryseymour7297 Pat was a choker unfortunately, and he didn't separate himself come playoff time the way DR34M and Shaq did. Same issue with the Admiral. All these guys, Embiid included are great reg. season performers, but only the best raise the play come playoff time.
Don’t ever disrespect Patrick Ewing, like that he never threw his teammates under the bus nor performed as bad as Joel Embiid. He played better in the playoffs.
He's 29 years old actually Sixers fans gotta make peace with Embiid not being that guy. He talks a good one but he's not that guy and when people tell you who they are you gotta believe em At least now I don't have to hear no annoyingly dumb Hakeem comparisons no more. Just cause they're both Black African don't mean they're cut from same cloth
I like both but Jokic is galaxies apart from Joel Embiid as playoffs went on Embiid got worse as Jokic got better they gave Joel the MVP cause it was a lot of racial bias towards Nikola Jokic and what he do when he won it lost 3 out next 4 playoff games vs Boston
The worst thing about the Ben Simmons thing is that when it broke in that 2nd Round, it was all Ben Simmons, you don’t hear about how Embiid had 8 turnovers in back to back games
With hindsight he's always been this way in playoffs. Right back to the year Ben Simmons folded. Yeah it was Ben's fault in that crunch moment that he passed to Matisse, but if Embiid had been playing any good himself, it wouldn't have been a crunch moment. Philly just seems to have a history lately of all their stars being afraid of the playoffs, Embiid, Harden and Simmon (back before that playoff) were all great during regular season but would pack up shop during playoff games, unless there was no pressure like Harden's game 1 this year.
The series that Ben Simmons folded, embid had back-to-back games with eight turnovers LOL if you turn the ball over 16 times into games while shooting as abysmal as he did, it's your fault
LITERALLY NO ONE CARES OR GAF. WE'VE BEEN KNOWING. He dodged joker for 3 years plus!!! Don't forget that. We all cooked Lonzo for dodging fox but not Joel lmao
I don’t think they are equal I’m from Philly so I’m a little bias but the sixers office didn’t do much with all the tanking we did I wasn’t mad we tanked but we didn’t do the right thing with our picks except Embied I wouldn’t be mad if he left
If he continued to drop an average of 30 a game in the playoffs then he could say he can’t win by myself. But he is more interested in winning an individual accolade (MVP) than a championship which is a team accolade. He got what he wanted so screw the team. The only reason he cares now cuz Jokic still embarrassed him for the 3rd year in a row. Even beating jokic for MVP jokic still embarrassed him by winning finals MVP and winning a championship. Plus winning an MVP cuz of him whining and Perkins bringing up racism is the WORST way to win the MVP.
True, MVP should have gone to Perk, he did the most to change the outcome. But let's not forget that Denver did rest their team for the last few weeks, I think that also had an effect in the race.
I was commenting throughout the whole year about Jokic being way better than Embiid and people would clown on me and now Jokic has a ring and FMVP and Embiid is having his 3rd all-star teammate try to leave the team after failing in the 2nd round AGAIN. There is now a >0% chance that Embiid asks for a trade at some point from Philly.
Joel Embid can become a powerful rival to Nikola Jokic if he keeps polishing his passing ability and if he is willing to learn and study offensive and defensive strategies. To win a trust with his teammates, if he is willing to share the ball with them like Jokic did.
He would just hold them back and make more excuses, saying they're past their prime or that they're just not hungry anymore since they already had their success.
Every year Embiid spends the regular season padding his stats, especially against losing record teams. Then he chokes big time in the playoffs because all the teams usually have winning records. What's worse is he's usually the defender on whatever shot knocks them out of the playoffs every year too 😂😂😂😂😂😂
i’d rather have a perfect attendance mvp than a sympathy mvp the thing is, in todays nba, being able to play more than 70-75 games is incredible. guys that play 82 games a year should be respected and revered for their stamina and ability.
Sixers fans were crying why embiid didnt win 2021-2022 mvp when their team seed was higher than 6th seed denver. But they dont know jokic played more games and won more games than embiid did when compared individually. Its because of guys like embiid team seed dont matter anymore due to so much load managing and missing out games.
embiid doesn't have that IT factor in his heart. he's to selfish to be a winner. all he cares about is accolades. he's the opposite of Jokic and he proved it this year with his very distasteful statements after HIS game 7 FAILURE and his constant whining about the MVP. Focus on the playoffs and stop worrying about sht that doesn't matter to your teams success
All the reasons why they discredit Jokic for his 2 MVPs are exactly what Embiid is. Not enought playoff success? Ok, lets choose someone who has less playoff success despite having multiple AllStar level teammates. Not enough playoff success? ok, lets choose someone who dropoffs on his production. btw, as if playoff success is important in regular season MVP. there's Finals MVP and now, Conference MVPs for that. Embiid is better in defense than Jokic? How about Giannis, better overall than Embiid. individually, and team success. if not Jokic, it shouldve been Giannis. and oh, it should be the totality, not just one side of the court. And Embiid loses to both Giannis and Jokic. Bucks and Nuggets are far better when Giannis and Jokic are playing; cant say the same with the 76ers. Sympathy MVP, not doubt. thats a Fact. anyone who disagree is in denial of reality.
People give billion of excuses to Embiid, even tho Philly was contender for line 4,5 years now. While Jokic wasnt contender that much, maybe only 2020, before that they were still building the team... embiid had SO MANY good players, so many veterans.. imagine PJ tucker, JJ reddick, Danny green, Al Horford, Jimmy buttler playing with Jokic... Imagine that.. Jokic would get at least 2 or 3.. Embiid is just not that good of a player.. overrated
Embiid is a very dominant regular season player, led the league in scoring, and the MVP is for the regular season. So he finally got it. However, playoffs are different as teams focus on your weaknesses and design defenses to stop you. Supposedly, it was Jokic who was not so good in the playoffs according to certain "experts" but that narrative was destroyed this year. 😂 For Nikola, the finals MVP and Denver championship is far more important for his legacy than a third MVP.
Philly has the worst fanbase in sports. They deserve to have Embiid as their superstar a guy who is large, flashy, and incapable of introspection. Mr 2nd round got his MVP though.
Joker hands down never been a question but the question was is embid a joker or KAT a batman or a Robin superstar or costar, the question was answered this past post season get him dame so he can costar
Nikola has 2 mvps, 1 finals MVP, 1 wcf MVP and a Championship ring . Joel can't compare anymore if you still think he is better you just in denial and a hater
