I am sorry that I thought the team would go the way Tatum always has gone, even now. I am happy they have proved better than following his soft ass lead
@@user-dn3fn3bg4l watch the clip. Everyone was doubting Boston. To the point we’re it just seems like hate. JT and JB are both young too, both under 28. The Mavs on 2011 were in the same shoes. They lost a finals after being up 2-0. They lost to a #8 seed the following year. But Dirk and JT were both over 30 and deserved some of the criticism
If they were held accountable, like fined for their “Expert Analysis” maybe they might put a little more thought into their GROUP THINK Opinions 😊 before shouting them out. ACTUALLY….. The Celtics didn’t have an easy road to the finals! They BEAT every team in the regular season - So… why weren’t teams taking them out then? They had every opportunity 😅
Almost everyone had them as the favourites. It was the same afther the regular season too. No idea how suddenly the overwhelming favourites became the underdogs in the finals almost over night.
@@stefankatsarov5806Cuz ppl wanna discredit their wins this East run while forgetting their amazing runs the 2 seasons before including that 0-3 hole they almost won (if not for Tatum gettin injured by a Heat player on the first dang play, debate for another day). “Not battle tested” my ahhhh
There’s a difference between hating a team because they beat your favorite team vs hating a team and then completely invalidating everything they have accomplished simply because you hate them

This is how you build a team around your talents. Tatum and Brown do not have to join super teams like Lebron does. Brad Stevens built this team perfectly and the Lakers need to learn from this.
JRUE HOLIDAY is part of your superteam. Did you forget that? 2x AS 6x ALL DEFENSIVE Team (3x 1st team and 3x 2nd team) Also playing as a DPOY contender (Top 6) Additionally, before people babble about how he is just a role player, let me remind yall that he defended/locked up star players in the playoffs and during reg season. Anyways congrats on winning the 18th banner
I guess they expected that the Celtics should wait for Butler, Haliburton, and Mitchell to recover from their injuries. Meanwhile they got no pass for Porzingis being injured for most of the playoffs and he was the guy, when healthy, who made their starting lineup deadly. They earned the top record and #1 seed. You play who is in front of you. They also gonna ignore that the Pacers had the second best offense in the league to the Celtics and it wasn't by a mile. Hell, the Pacers gave the Celtics more trouble in the ECF than the Mavericks did.
100%. To a good defense, spreading the pie the pie around to multiple players is hard to guard. The mavs were soooo predictable that I went on record saying boston in 5, but would give mavs two wins bcuz of luka & kyrie's individual talent. I'm a Celtics Homer & even I slighted them a bit by back tracking what I knew would be a 5-game series.
The amount of criticism these guys got for not winning in their first few yrs is INSANE. They were the only ones expected and crucified for not winning at young ages. People got really good and contenders confused…. And those people look sad while back tracking or completely gone ghost😂😂😂
This is how you DEVELOP TEAM WINNING AND CHEMISTRY. GET RID OF PORZINS and GET A QUALITY TEAM PLAYER TO MOVE INTO AL HARFORDS ROLE AND A YOUNG UPCOMING DEFENSIVE PLAYER TO REPLICATE DRUE HOLIDAY'S EFFORTS,; PAY JASON and JALEN TO LONG TERM DEALS and You have the FOUNDATION FOR A DYNASTY. I have been watching the NBA for a long ass time, and this is by far the worst NBA Media has ever been. I don’t even know where to start, but the playoffs really showed that most of the analysts do not watch basketball
@@theraVen27 hahaha you’re right, I didn’t even see my typo when I commented. I’m a Celtics fan I’m very happy lol I loved this season. The playoff and finals coverage was terrible
I tried to tell these mavs fans all over social media that the Cs have entire rotation can shoot 3s with good to elite efficiency and they all play good defense. And their starting unit has 3 guys who were or should have been All NBA defense team while the other 2 are excellent defenders who can guard anyone. Tatum guarded guards, centers, that kind of player is invaluable to a defense. This Title was inevitable, Dallas never had a chance.
Its crazy how little knowledge the "World Wide Leader in Sports" (ESPN) NBA analysts have when it comes to the NBA. I cant imagine how anyone who has even just a small amount of basketball knowledge would think the Mavs would win. I put money on Boston to sweep so I'm pissed about that, but the Mavs didnt win that game....the Celtics lost the game (or to be more accurate, the Celtics just gave it to them for whatever reason). I'd like for these analysts to explain why they all took Dallas. Theres only 2 possible reasons: 1) They haven't watched any Celtics (or Mavs) games this year. or 2) They know absolutely nothing about the NBA and just fake their knowledge by compiling a few highlights and articles written by other dummies What you pointed out should've been clear to anyone who knows basketball. Celts have elite defense and the top 7-8 of their rotation are excellent 3pt shooters. Dallas was not equipped to defend that team. And now I'm starting to hear some people say that the Championship doesnt mean as much because they had an "easy road". EASY ROAD??...MF'ers told us for well over a week that the Celts would lose, Dallas is too good, Dallas has "the best back court in NBA history", Dallas in 4, Dallas in 5, Dallas in 6. But now that the Celtics rolled thru them just like they've done to every team this year, all of a sudden Dallas is no longer considered a hard team to beat? Now Dallas is considered part of the "easy road"!!?!? Think about that logic. Celtics DESTROYED everyone in the regular season and thru the playoffs. And now the narrative isn't about how dominant the team was, its that the Championship doesnt mean that much because the other teams were trash in comparison to the greatness of this Celtics team. These sports talk shows are straight up garbage.
Just to add my piece here. I personally never said that Dallas would win, I hoped they would, and I thought that Dallas would put up more of a fight. That being said, Game 4 did show that Dallas could hang with them if Dallas' role players showed up. But I never thought that this was going to be an easy series.
@@LeetraviusMcKay-q6mtheir changes would not have helped even if done earlier. They were down 20 plus at one point in almost every game, they would have had to add talent that roster to compete in these Finals.
@@aaroneisenman6873I gave the series til 6 at 1st. After Game 1 and 2 it was a 5 game series easily. They were getting beat too badly and down big in games
The narrative around the easy road through the playoffs is absurd on so many levels. Mainly how people are arguing this point as if the Celtics chose their opponents.
Its not even the easiest road. Its the 19th. Bubble lakers were 18th. Last years nuggets were 3rd. People conveniently forget that Kp Is a legit 20 ppg guy whos a top 15 defensive player (when healthy). He offsets most of the "easy road" shit. Yes, hes about as good as regular season jimmy and indy was better without hali.
First of all, Boston EARNED the easy road with what they did to the rest of the league during the season. That's their's. All you gripers need to learn to grind it out in the regular season and get your top seed...and stop your bitchin. Secondly, any of the eastern teams the Celtics beat would have given a bigger fight than the Mavs did, or anyone else in the West... that includes your one-man show in Denver. Boston would have done to Joker, what they did to Luka who had no help because Boston would have locked them all down.
As a Celtics fan, I went into this season knowing they were the most talented but still had something to prove. I've thought that they've been the most talented team for 3 years, and that it hadn't panned out due to mistakes they made. They should have beat those Warriors in '22, and they should have beat the Heat in '23. It seemed like yes, they would clamp up in the clutch. I knew if they could just figure out a way to not do that, nobody could beat them. And what do you know...they finally figured it out. This team won so many games it wouldn't have last year. I think after BOS - IND game 1 I was pretty confident that we were finally seeing them round that corner and I was already counting that #18th banner. With a healthy KP and this new maturity, I honestly believed this team could 4-1 almost the entire league. (I would say 4-0, but a high-volume 3-game means you are going to have some horrendous games and you have to live with it). Only the Minnesota Timberwolves worried me, solely for matchup reasons, but I think the Celtics would have found that KAT is a liability and exploited it. Jrue Holiday also helps. That dude is a cheat code, my GOD. What the fuck were the Bucks thinking?
It’s gonna be even funnier when the Celtics win again next year. Tatum and Brown will finish their careers with 4 chips at least. Not only are they both great and young, but they clearly have the best GM with Brad. This core has plenty of time left together, and Horford looks like he’s coming back next year too. I trust that Brad will continue to make the right moves, he’s just a basketball genius. Mazzulla also looks like one of the best coaches already. Celtics are on top of the league right now and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
They will not win next year, because they not a good team, they just won because probably had it fixed that way,the playoffs were boring nothing to watch,But congratulations, enjoy this , because it's will years before another one of ever
These "experts", including turncoat Perk, will never use this as a teaching moment to analyze the game better. The Celtics exposed their prejudices and ideas on what it takes to be a champion. Clowns, all of them.
The press used to be more assertive in the past when it came to predicting play-offs and finals series. Probably because they were more professional in terms of analyzing teams and players. Today's press is a clown show, they're in for entertaining or getting likes through social media, hence failing most of the time when it comes to predicting NBA games.
They very well might get more clicks and interactions when they're wrong, so they might do it on purpose. It's up to us consumers to simply not watch them anymore period.
Well said! The media has a poor memory. They only call out previous stats when it suits them. Your entire viewpoint is well thought out and logical! Thank you!
Proud to be a Celtic Fan since the Bird n Magic years. being from the southwest were everyone over here likes the Lakers, it's a little tough to have always rooted for the Celtics, but it has always been worth it. Go Celtics!!!
The media is embarrassing. I think my only doubt towards the celtics was tatum has shrunk in the big moments. Outside of that, this team won 64 games, have 2 centers who can shoot and guard, have by far the best perimeter defense in the league and their two best players are great scorers and even better defenders. I dont get how anyone logically believed Dallas would win.
That whole Tatum shrinking has been overstated too. GM7 points records, outscored a team in the 4th of an elimination game, he avg almost 27/9/6 with good defense in elimination games. He hasn’t been perfect in those pressure games so people use the few bad games to try and trump the many good games he had in those situations
@@334ben10 I'm a sixers fan bro, I know about game 7 Tatum. When I said big moments I really meant the finals in 2022. He's a champion now and the pressure won't have the same impact.
He has the most playoff pts ever by age 27 passing Kobe and Lebron this season. So idk , easy to say he shrinks in big moments when they’re throwing 3 to 4 defenders at him when he drives. 😂😂 smh whol game plan is to stop him and people go crazy when he shoots bad but does everything else to help. You play to win the game not to have a good shooting %. He did his job!
@@cvgodd1432 in 7 career game 7s, hes scored over 26 points twice. And you contradict yourself in your response. If he has 3-4 defenders "thrown at him nightly" how is he so far ahead in post season points? You said he's the most proficient post season scorer ever. You said you play to win the game which I agree with but my point is it's kind of hard to not win on a 64 win team, that is by far the best in the league
@@MaxiYaps 🤣🤣 you doing some crazy nitpicking to try and stick with your narrative. In GM7 Tatum avg 26.7/9.3/5.1 shooting 47% FG and 3p while being 5-2, those are LITERALLY all time GM7 averages, no if ands or buts about it BY FACTS one of the best GM7 avg by any player ever. Y’all be so focused on saying what he not doing and just ignoring facts, like why does it matter how many times he scored over 26 that’s odd🤣🤣 if you had watched at all this yr and especially in the past Tatum is most definitely who team focused on, MIA LITERALLY said they wanted someone to win it and if Tatum has been one of the most doubled team players in reg season and playoffs since like 2018. It proves a lot yall acting like the team has been loaded his whole career. They have been successful but that don’t mean they been loaded like yall act. JB went from getting moved to the bench to be considered better than Tatum, Smart was unplayable a lot of times until his last season or so, Grant was a role player who immediately look worse on other teams, Rob Williams was good but can’t stay on the court, Kyrie cause drama and couldn’t stay on the court, GH didn’t get a chance to do anything meaningful, Kemba wasn’t good here, Rozier was a scorer that was inefficient didn’t look to pass and couldn’t defend.
Local sports radio is even worse. They’ve been singing ‘ Trade JB “ for years. He got paid, he got better, he tuned out the critics & he delivered on the biggest stage.
Seems more like media generally backed mavs to create more interest in an otherwise obviously one-sided finals series, love Luka but he isn't LeBron (yet lol) the expectation of Boston was that they win a title this year and they did so no one freaked out, next season will be better because other teams will have to construct thier teams to beat Boston or desperately try to imitate them via off-season trade shenanigans
PERFECT TIMING FOR THIS VIDEO... i just subscribed I totatly agree with you on this video. too easy to the finals is crazy when all basketball is the matchups you have at any given time on the floor and executing plays to score points. I do have a video idea for you... TITLE: The Warriors wont win another Championship with Draymond Green. REASON: Warriors core players that cant defend multiple postions at a high level will have to rely on offense or incredible luck. CAUSE: Draymond gets traded for a nobody and 2nd round pick
Hilarious he pivoted after game 1 saying that he didn't know Porzingis was healthy so bascially switched his pick. KP gets injured in game 2 and they still win 4-1 and he cornered himself looking like an absolute fool.
Nobody has mentioned Mazulla's outstanding coaching and Stevens incredible handling of personnel. Those guys know what they are doing and the team knows it too. All of it has to come together and it has.
I dont think people understand how lucky Miami was in that series last year with that otherworldly shooting. Yes it was lucky because they didn't do it before and couldn't do it again. Not even in the next series against Denver. Am I salty? Nope cause the C's won the chip and Miami couldn't do the same
“Haven’t been tested” is wild as hell! 🗣️All of these Teams are NBA PROFESSIONAL Basketball players. Sooo many players played their entire career without a title or even making it to the Finals yet our Celtics have made & WON. Why are we breaking them up? The so called logic is a fool! Stay together & keep winning! Let’s go Celtics 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Jaylen and Jason have been teammates for awhile in Boston. But how long have they really known each other? I bet longer than most people think. Their relationship goes back years before they played for the Celtics.
Celtics exposed the media after game 3. Mavs exposed the media after game 4. Celtics exposed the media again after game 5. Now that the series is over, who will expose the media tomorrow??? 😮
Im happy for boston, but I cringe every time I see that "We did it" thing tatum does. It seemed so inauthentic, like he was really trying to put on a show.
The funniest thing about all of this is not only are the Celtics the champions, but they also had the best record in the NBA and everybody still doubted them
atum, brown, kyrie, luka. brown is the least talented but the one with the biggest heart and hardwork. so fixated and determine to hunt luka on both ends of the floor. "if luka stays, i stay" that's a GOAT-ed mindset. reminds me of kobe and mj
AND THESE SO-CALLED MEDIA EXPERT SUPPOSED TO PREDICT WHO WINS THE NBA FINALS.. YOU CAN'T TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY CUZ IT'S ALL ABOUT MATCHUP AND WHO'S HOT AT THE MOMENT
You only talked about last years trade rumors, but remember this team could’ve traded Jaylen for 1 year of AD, Kawhi or Jimmy. Credit to Danny Ainge for his patience with them and Brad Stevens for knowing who he needed to add around them.
Modern media ignores the boring the details of the present and spends all day making faulty future predictions and selling hype. I wish it was just sports media.
The media has always relied on narratives. I remember back in the day of SABRmetric rage, when advanced analytics were finally starting to get used. ESPN employed Rob Neyer, but he was barely used outside of some columns. Guys like bill Simmons, obviously a Boston homer but also capable of good takes, got run off. And we are REALLY seeing it in the NBA media now. The Celtics were clearly the best team in the NBA. Every metric suggested it. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together could look at their W-L record, their ORtg and DRtg and determine with a lot of precision that they were a great team. But the media needs to latch on to some sort of narrative in order to sound like they have something to actually say on the sport, versus just being a bunch of well connected rich kids with journalism degrees and has beens who fancy themselves as gatekeepers to the game. So they went with “the Celtics aren’t clutch”. And it was absolutely insane. You’d almost think the chattering class was working for the Vegas odds makers, as they had all sorts of whale money going towards the Mavericks, convinced that the “smart people” on the boob tube were right and not their lying eyes. The MSM are clowns. They don’t know anything that we, as casual observers, don’t also know. At least from an analytical perspective.
• The Celtics had the most 50+, 40+, 30+, and 25+ win seasons in NBA history. • They held a 20-point lead in 50 out of 101 games, matched only by the 2017 Warriors. • The Celtics had 15 more wins than any other team (6th in NBA). • They are the 14th team to win at least 80 games, with an .792 winning percentage. • The Celtics outscored opponents by average 10.7 PPG, the 5th best in history. • These Celtics are ranked 5th best of all time, behind the 71 Bucks, 72 Lakers, 96 Bulls, and 2017 Warriors.
I am convinced the sport media is not meant to be taken seriously, especially First Take, they have been taking L's for the last few weeks. I don't like the Celtics, but I am happy for this roster.
Only thing I disagree with is this Celtics team being primed for a run while the 08 team wasn't. That 08 Celtics team should've 3 peat. And would've too if they didn't get fucked by injuries. The NBA today is WAY more star studded and parity is a mainstay. In 09 the Celtics were far and away the best team in the league, started the season like 27-2 and were legitimately unstoppable. And then KG hurt his knee and that was that. Celtics still managed to win 62 games that year. They probably would've won 70 if they dodged the injury bug. Then 2010 came around and they were healthy heading in the playoffs. And then into the Finals. And then Perk got hurt in game 6 and all of a sudden there was such a limited inside presence that the Lakers just feasted on the glass and won games 6 and 7. Without injuries that 08 team 3 peats. Without injuries this 2024 Celtics team is primed for a run as well, but any sort of injury or another one of the half dozen star lined NBA teams catching a groove at the right team could put an end to that.
I completely agree with every single point you made. I feel like every great Boston Celtics team was just a great team. 1986 Celtics had Larry Bird but what made them great was how they all became better over time. 1986 was like their final form.
Me too I was doubting the Celtics but after watching game 1,2 & see how they moved the ball, space the floor with tatums/jaylen playmaking & exposed kyrie, luka defensive flaws. Man, we were all proven wrong.
Either players could have been FMVP. Tatum lead all Celtics in points rebounds and assist . 22/7/7 , 38% shooting 1 SPG Brown Averaged 20/5/5 , 44% shooting 1.6 SPG. Both played elite defense.
@@CobblesteinSwobblepop he played great. But his stat line didn’t show it. And MVP awards usually go to the stat stuffers. Dru went 14/7/3 off of 53% shooting and 1.2 SPG. Great performances. But you can only pick 1
The Celtics really evolved in the Indiana series. The NBA Playoffs are all about styles, matchups and adjustments. Indiana forced Boston to defend tougher and penetrate the lane offensively, while moving without the ball. By the time Porzingis returned you added the element of rim protection.
ESPN was begging teams to not make trades with Danny Ainge and overly criticizing Kyrie Irving and a seriously injured Gordon Heyward to hurt the Celtics, while influencing any star they could to join Lebron or the Lakers. These people are reprobates.
props to the Celtics organization for not listening to the idiots in the media and keeping this team together they built this team through the draft & trades
Celtics fan since Larry Bird era till this new era of Celtics basketball,,im happy for JB and JT get that chip, win or lose I watched their game on tv, from Phillippines.
