Joel McHale (The Soup, Community, A Futile & Stupid Gesture) is an American comedian, actor, writer, and television host. Joel takes shots at Rick for his wardrobe before Rick tells him about the time he cried because he had to wear pants to The Phantom of the Opera. Joel talks of his struggle to read the teleprompter on "The Soup" because of his dyslexia diagnosis. They bond over repartee. Then they reveal a huge secret.

Dude this went from being another podcast I watched to my favorite podcast above YMH, JRE, TFATK, all of em. Your sense of humor is straight up laugh out loud funny while I sit in my parents basement by myself and scream laugh. Also, how the hell do you know all these famous people, you seem to be the most well acquainted comedian I've seen. Another straight ZINGER. #GlassmanBoppers!!

Hey Rick. I’m from Cleveland too. My son is on the severe/ low functioning side of the spectrum, and I have always thought I’m an aspie. I love that you are talking so openly on how you feel and your quirks. It’s fucking hard most days to see a silver lining. I appreciate your podcast a lot.

Rick, I've been going through the backlog the last couple weeks. This is one of the best episodes of any pod I've ever seen. Soo funny, laughed out loud a bunch of times, but it was also very serious and real. I'm totally hooked and this is one of my top 5 fav podcasts now. Just wish I would have found it sooner!

Nothing made me feel happier than him talking about how pants make him feel. He understands. It's like having little static shocks all over and like you're being squeezed in a vice at the same time. My son and I both deal with that. We wear shorts every day of the year. blizzard? Well not that they have them here in Tennessee, but we'd wear shorts and have a thin blanket around that, tied at the waist.

RICK - I have kept an orchid alive and consistent flowering for 3 years now. Soak the orchid roots for 5 minutes a week then drain and good to go. Fertilize a couple times a year. If all of the flowers fall off, cut the flower stem back about 4-5 nodes above the node, then a new flowering branch will grow within weeks.

I genuinely don't understand how Rick's youtube isn't one of the biggest. I am a massive podcast fan and I haven't seen someone care so much, and put as much work in as he does since Superego. I know some of the later videos are hitting around 300k, but I truly think this show is 1m + quality.

This is one of my favourite episodes Rick. The reason is that Joel is hella rad, but especially because he attacks you quickly and frequently. It feels like you're in your natural pocket when people are attacking you for fine, small details as if you're performing out of line, but then you have some reply or "direction" that is magical to witness, and then we all break down the nuance of that violation.

i watch your podcast and always love the editing, and then i watch other comedian's podcasts and im waiting for the little edits with images of what theyre talking about and it never comes...then im disappointed, you doing it all yourself adds character and good comedic bits, it also helps the podcast from lagging, so if your pod grows id say you should still have a hand in the editing!! or i will unsub :P keep it up
