I was scared cause like the above reply said, video adaptations have a rep for not being great! But man, when I watched the first episode (for free bc I had only made an HBO account before I bought a subscription) I IMMEDIATELY purchased a subscription cause I knew I NEEDED to see the entire season. Needless to say, I wasn’t disappointed one bit. Amazing show, amazing cast.

@@PureAngel008 I’ve played the second game and it’s one of my favorite games of all time. I can even argue it’s up there with the first one. And I say that fully knowing how much hate it got. Usually when the majority doesn’t like something..I won’t either. But not with this. Sure it wasn’t perfect and yes it could’ve been done another way. But I feel like you should give it another chance. You really are missing out.

The beautiful thing about acting is being able to take a character you’re playing and mold them into a part of you. You get to layer them and make them human not just a character in a game or a person who’s entire personality is written. It makes it easier for the masses to connect with that character in a lot of ways

I once saw him at Supanova and when I was standing in front of him I went on this minute long spiel about how much I loved his work, I looked forward to what he would do in TLOU2 and that every game was better for having him in it. I remember waiting like 4 years for the game to come out and being in love with it since, I watched everyone on RU-vid play it then I brought it once we had money, and I played it over and over and over again and as soon as the 2nd came out it was the same, but this show man, this show is quite literally so beautiful and amazing and just stunning Andi don't know the words but.. they are my Joel and Ellie, don't get me wrong, Troy and Emily (Im drunk so forgive me if I got Ellie's orginal actresses naame wrong) they're still my og Joel and Ellie, but something about having the characters be humans and not video game characters changed the Whole idea of the last of us for me, I know the game was made. With that motion capture stuff I watched hours of it being made, but humans man, they connect with you so much more

Bella Ramsey got me chocked up with the scene on her(Ellie) telling how she is afraid of her losing everyone. that single interaction of Ellie oppened up is such a core information that if you don't study her story and put yourself in her shoes can't ever understand. And I believe that she really embodied the true trauma of Ellie in that moment I can see the watering eyes of a person who felt the lack of control/agency in her life, the fear of being alone.

Troy is so talented not only as a voice actor but as an actor. Watch the cutscenes from the game, his mannerisms and his stature is so convincing of an older man who’s been through so much. You get that in his facial performance and body movements. Also mans can do the Joel voice and also joker who he played in Arkham origins. Dudes range is incredible

Agreed, she’s not terrible but I’d say her acting is pretty mid. feel like she’d be better on radio because she has a nice voice but is really lacking facial expressions & eye movement which is usually an important skill to know when you’re in the acting industry. maybe she will do better by s2 though, sometimes it takes a bit for actors to adjust into their roles.
