He talks about forgiving grandpa. My great grandfather had 500 acres of land in colorado and ran huis whole family away because it was so hard. I now have a dream to be a rancher and with Joel and Greg Judy’s instruction I know I can succeed with only a fraction of that land.

I looked them up. There are fossilized versions this size placed at 100 MA or so. I’m a Biblical Crationist so my presuppositions place them within the last 6 KA. Shows the super over abundance the Creator has provided. We’ve barely tapped it but are desperately trying to eliminate it. As if anything we do can cause more than a scratch. But we certainly can shoot ourselves in the foot in the short term. If we wised up, we could not only feed the world but make it healthier with nutritious food.

Thank you sir. Monthly recurring donation to Farm-to-consumer legal defense funds just set up. I appreciate the opportunity to be supportive. Which raises a question. Is there a list of regenerative, sustainable, that-long-funny-name-you-spit-out-so-fast farms so those of us who want to purchase food that is good for us and leave the supermarket in the dust know where to go, who to see? I’ve found one that’s not very local and doesn’t have a lot of what we buy every week, but I sure am loving the strawberry and blueberry syrups. 🙄😉

"In all honesty.....most jobs CAN be learned in a week or two"...then one tweaks the knowledge and "movement of one's self" to substantially get better. I can say this from experience; from doing surgeries, to picking up "horse s*hit efficiently, to driving a car/truck/tank/motorcycle, etc. Anyone with myriad experience...is like a "human machine computer"...who just takes one's former training and then tweaks it to the "next jobs"...the more one experiences in life...the easier any other job/career title becomes. One doesn't need 10 years of college for ANY vocation...they need experience and previous learning. Anyone can do anything, at the point that one has enough time living for associated experience. For example...anyone with average I.Q. and learning capacity with driving experience...can/could drive a 'big-rig, learn to fly a plane,...tank, motorcycle, or 'Shaggy-Mobile' (Scoooobbie-DDDoooooo!) Nothing is that difficult to learn.

@Truelove Has nothing to do with "raising the bar"...it has everythg to do with having a stable "mother and father...who both stay together and "make love" to have and raise kids off of Welfare. Everything in life is self perpetuated. "Raising the Bar?" Most kids need a daddy "who will raise them up on their' laps and read books to them each night...that's self perpetuation...the way God meant it to be.

2:41 I was saying that a couple days ago. People say "If we give up fossil fuels, we go back to the stone age!" No we don't! We can live quite comfortably. 20:14 Yes, I was looking for a job back in the 90's. I stopped at a warehouse and the owner says "We just own the building, we don't own the bodies." As for regulation, it isn't the regulation that is the problem. It's who and what the regulation favors. Trump is cutting regulation...…. For big business that is. But the small business is still regulated out by big business disinformation. There's regulation that we need (like speed limits, not dumping poison in the water ways, etc.). This is regulation scientifically proven necessary. Then there's the opinions of right and wrong ( like raw milk and business protection) that government has no business in.

Listening to the start of this you would think the return to hunter gather life style might be the most productive. The Maya, Aztecs and Incas did do extensive farming to support large city/states though. Curious as to how they handled fertility issue.. Agree local growers way to go and return to seasonal eating of produce way to go. Present system propped up by fossil fuels. No more year round fresh fruits. Chinese solved fertility problem by nutrient recycling of their own waste.

I'm all about this man. been watching all the talks of his I can, but one thing he said worries me maybe somebody know more about this. He mentioned that he removes dead trees from his woods for compost. I wonder if he worries about depleting his energy from his forests on his land. Now, I'm worried that his method is too good to be true and that he is still borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. Anybody have any educated response to this, heard Joel speak about this in more depth?
@DenisShch93
@DenisShch93 5 лет назад
Why should it be a problem? Actually, taking dry, dead trees is the way to protect the forest. If you don’t do that, eventually nature cleans the land with fires and starts over again. For nature there’s no problem for that but we, humans, apparently don’t like when our woods are wiped off with wild fires.
@sheraklassen4163
@sheraklassen4163 4 года назад
I have seen a video where he is letting his pigs into the forest to forage, etc. So they’ll be bringing some....poop/nutrients in their guts that they have made from either the fields or supplemental grain. There will also be birds and bugs and mice etc moving resources back and forth between farm and field. I don’t think it’s a large enough scale to be concerned about though.

@cabwaldo
@cabwaldo 4 года назад
He does run his pig operation through the woods and manages the forest to grow tall healthy trees for cutting on his sawmill. I don’t know if he does it but I’ve also heard that the most ecologically productive landscape is a savannah, meaning grassland shaded by trees. Joel mentions in other talks that there have been studies done on his farm that show an explosion of biodiversity compared to the surrounding areas and even the state of Virginia as a whole.

Denis Shchetinkin Forest fires aren’t a huge concern on the east coast. Between the deciduous leaves that fall every year and wet climate, windfalls decompose fairly quickly. That said, that doesn’t mean it’s not smart to thin out a thick grove of saplings that are half dead.

why would a wolf need 20 pounds of meat a day?
@bradleydavidgood
@bradleydavidgood 4 года назад
@Truelove yea I know that thanks. But it makes no sense to me that some animal smaller than me would require 20 pounds of meat a day. In your scenario that would be eating 60 pounds of meat on a kill. I eat a pound or 2 of meat a day and I'm bigger than them. I found several other sites saying they eat about 7 pounds a day. Still, that sounds really high. Raw meat eaters generally eat around 1.5 pounds a day - humans. Meat is very satiating unlike plants. You don't need much - it is loaded with nutrients.

Over the years, people have become extremely selfish and ignorant. Farmers all over the world work like slaves to produce the cheap food so people can eat the obese without costing it any money. So they can spend all their money on luxury like phones and airtravel. Farmers are the ones you should respect and pay them an honest salary, or soon they will all be gone and you will suffer hunger until you die. There's nothing else in this world that can make people open their eyes and that is hunger. And for me, i have no problem with that. Then the people will pay the price for their ignorant and selfish behaviour.
