Try thinking of jazz as a conversation. Each musician gets to ‘speak’ and they play off what each one says. Maybe you don’t enjoy what one musician has to say, but it’s worth hanging in there because maybe you’ll like what another musician has to say in response.

Try listening to Pat Metheny Group's early work. The first 3 albums are excellent and a bit lighter. This piece is kind of advanced jazz. Give yourself time to appreciate it. 😊

Mungkin emang beda selera aja kali, om. Gue bilang sih musik mirip kaya makanan, kalau ngga suka, ya udah, ngga usah dipaksain buat suka juga. Kalau ente mau maksain suka sama satu makanan, bisa aja sih, ente tiap hari makan tuh makanan, sampe akhirnya mungkin suatu hari ente bakalan suka sama itu makanan atau malah bisa jadi ente tambah enek sama itu makanan. Di musik juga gitu, kalau ente ngga suka, ya udah ngga usah dipaksain juga, kalau dipaksain denger tiap hari, bisa ente jadi suka, atau bisa juga ente malah makin benci sama itu musik, ini musik apa enaknya sih??? Gue udah dengarin tiap hari selama 5 tahun tetap aja gue kaga ngarti di mana enaknya. Balik lagi ke masalah selera sih, om.
