@@Ramezk23 his sentence building is funny yeah, but there's nothing weird or funny about the fact that he was half germand and half spanish and a nazi? He won't be the only one lol
@@kerrwatson9354 - It’s not really a lie tho. It’s how you remember things. Joey saying he got 2000 years is his way of saying he got a long ass sentence.
Not only that. He was a cell mate of Freeway Rick Ross and taught him the cocaine business and Ross was the biggest seller of crack for a good decade. He was leaking info in interviews, when he was in Arizona (the guy gets moved every year it seems), and then he just disappeared somewhere in the national jail system. His daughter was trying to find his whereabouts...it's crazy. Don't know if he resurfaced yet. Scarface, the Al Pacino movie was based on Carlos lehdar. He had a island, an army and the extravagant lifestyle to play the part, but Pablo was not too fond of him, that's why they gave him up.
This guy is the real life "Diego" from the movie BLOW, Carlos Lehder was his real name *EDIT- I didn't realize that they mentioned this just after 5 mins into the vid*
Wow. That's cool! Al Pacino's character in Donny Brasco (lefty) has an amazing story after the FBI arrested him and that whole crew that was under surveillance. Michael Madsen's character was executed because it was his crew and responsibility for letting the FBI into the operations. He knew it meant his life was forfeit and took his punishment without complaint. Lefty was to meet the same fate he was aware that the mob was after him and that he was going to be killed. The Feds offered him a deal to turn against the organization and help them bring down bigger fish. He never accepted. He was sentenced to years in prison with a bounty on his head and never said a word about anything. When the mob realized he was a man of his word they lifted the bounty and he served his sentence and died an old man. You can't glamorise mobster's without showing them turning on each other or giving up their friends. But those guy's lived by a code and kept their vow of silence. I've always found that interesting!
@@Mike-wn7oh absolutely bud. Not condoning their crimes. But would have liked to see the movie acknowledged that piece of the story. The way it's left is like he dies!
@COLONEL ANGUS lol damn I gave up on the video like 5 mins into it just before the mentioned it, I didn't know they covered it. That shit would have been the first thing that I said lol
@@ptt619 no matter how many of you columbians complain people won't stop spelling it with a "u" unless you EDUCATE NOT BERATE people for crap they don't know. This is actually SO dumb. Just like aluminum. The brits add another letter but we don't shout at them and berate them every time they say it. We might giggle but we don't judge.
@@justsomeguy1136 Commenting about it with the correct way of spelling a country is not berating. You’re only saying this because you’re not Colombian and don’t understand how annoying it can be when Americans lack the ability to spell.
Listen to Mr. Diaz kids, he knows what he's talking about. Narcos was a good Hollywood showcase of the Narc world of Colombia, BUT they gave you guys 10% of the truth. The best series that tells the start to finish of Pablo Escobar is a Colombian series called "El Patron Del Mal", and it shows you how the 5 top dogs, the families of the Medellin Cartel gave up crazy-ass Carlos Ledher to the DEA .
I was so hyped when I got a notification Joey was gonna be a guest. Joey amd Duncan are hands down my favorite guests I can’t miss an episode with either of those two
@@eval_is_evil Is it a lie or just an exaggeration? Comedians exaggerate all the time, it's how they make things funny. Did the guy get a long prison sentence? Yes. Was it 2000 years? No.
I've been watching these clips for years, and it's only now I've noticed that Joey Diaz' face and name are carved into the tree in the little chimp intro card at the beginning.
Carlos Lehder was a legend. He was every bit as wealthy as Pablo Escobar. The island he bought, Norman’s Cay was a stroke of genius in terms of cocaine logistics. A complex character & very charismatic guy.
Narcos - Mexico 1 & 2 is my shit , the Spanish metaphorical stories of Don Neto r truly special the actor joaquin cosio gives an excellent performance as does the rest of the cast as well
This guy has unlimited stories and he’s good at explaining them but I do think he lies a little about em. Funny likable story tellers usually are liers
I’m trying to find any kind of videos for the past two days of him doing kind of a podcast on that Island, but I can’t find anything. If someone knows where I can see the videos, just let me know. Getting kind of crazy trying to find them.
The CIA had a major hand to play in this too, as well as with the Sandinistas... there’s a good Tom cruise movie about Escobar’s pilot Barry Seal who was assassinated, the movie talks about a lot of this.
Carlos Enrique Lehder Rivas (born 7 September 1949)[4] is a German-Colombian former drug lord who was co-founder of the Medellín Cartel. He was released from prison in the United States after 33 years in 2020.
