Richard Elmer "Joey" Dorsey is an American professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the NBA. He played college basketball for the University of Memphis Tigers, where he was an interdisciplinary studies major. He is most famous for leading the Memphis Tigers to the 2008 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament championship game with Derrick Rose and Chris Douglas-Roberts during his senior year.
Dorsey was chosen as the 33rd overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. After the draft, he was traded to the Houston Rockets in exchange for the draft rights to the 25th pick, Nicolas Batum.
