Who remembers when Metallica needed a drummer right before their set and Joey volunteered to do it and played every Metallica song perfectly without ever having rehearsed with them? Dude was truly special and in my opinion is the greatest drummer of all time. RIP Joey im sure ur still tearing up the drums in the after life 🤟
He actually did rehearse with them backstage for about an hour before doing the show. They wanted to feel him out and see which songs he could play and put a set list together. They did throw a couple extra songs at him onstage and he still killed it. Definitely an epic night
I listen to snot since i had 5 yro , what a sad new ... im crying for all maggots outthere 😭😭😭 we lossed one of the kings of al metal history ! Hail for JOEY !
Seeing you comment on this made my day 🖤 You're music is also apart of my daily list lol. You talking facts though, his energy was something truly mesmerizing.
While wearing a jumpsuit and kabuki mask! Joey was a huge musical influence on me growing up, and will be dearly and forever missed. Another wonderful and unforgettable piece to my childhood, forever gone. RIP legend 🖤
He was freaking incredible, as a drummer, guitarist, friend, and a man with too much talent and love for his short time with all who loved him. Damn, what a loss.
When I was like 10 I had Joey Jordison as my desktop background for a long time. As I got older I got more into other genres besides metal, but Joey Jordison was a total badass and I spent many years trying to emulate him behind the kit and failing every time lmao. Bands like Slipknot and Children of Bodom (RIP Alexi) got me into metal and now it feels like all my childhood heroes are dying. I respect any drummer and musician who has something to say with their music. Joey's death is so shocking. RIP to a legend.
I always wanted to see them live so I could see Joey spin on the platform sadly I never got to see that im sure it was fucking epic rest In peace joey thank you for the years of entertainment you brought to us all you were and will always be a a legend of the metal world
it’s heartbreaking watching him. This dude was so awesome at his craft. When i read how he died and that he had a leg amputated due to the disease … as a fellow drummer it made me cry. Nothing can be worse for a drummer then to lose an arm or leg, foot or hand. RIP Joey… u made Metallica finally sound great live!
I dont think he had his leg amputated, I think it was a nerve disease so he had trouble controlling his limbs, but he was still drumming at the end of his life, but I haven’t done that deep of research so I could be wrong
Just how concentrated and fast he was is what always impressed me the most about Joey. It's unfortunate he passed so young. You could absolutely put him up there with Neil Pert, Vinnie Paul Abbott, Lars Ulrich, and Peter Criss. One of the best on the drums absolutely the fastest. R.I.P Joey we love and miss you!
Joey is by far the fastest drummer I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him. His drumming is nothing short of talent that we may never see again His energy is off the chain RIP JOEY
Even though joey passed away he will have place in our hearts forever, joey jordison one of the best drummer and one of the most iconic one,Rest In Peace brother ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm a black metal drummer I'm 16 years old and I started on the instrument because my dream was to meet and form a group with joey jordison, now that the match I will try too hard to take his place. You could give me some advice. Not as a fan to star but as a friend 💔😔
I'm glad you are inspired. Feed off what Joey left us and add your style. Copy Joey when you cover his music but your music needs to be born in your mind. High school marching band and jazz band can help develop speed, timing and technique even if the music isn't exactly what you listen to at home, they will make you a better musician. Be well.
Watch Aquila prester for tips on RU-vid as he is next best thing 0n a double bass kit he has killer speed and timing as well RIP Joey Jordison the Goat !
Для меня смерть великого барабанщика Joey Jordison, сука, трагедия! Я начинал слушать металл с группы Slipknot, и до сих пор их игра и звучание являются для меня эталонными. Вечная память.
Yup his parter they were the one's that wrote most of slipknot's guitar riffs and bass drums truely my favorite drummer #1 and guitar writing #2 bass guitar to you there jamming in heaven with dime vinne Kurt Alice in chains singer forgot his name dio heaven has amazing band or band's up there oh yeah Lynn straight Chris Cornell dude from sublime Jiminy Hendrix cliff Burton to many to name
Joey was my inspiration at the beginning of learning to play drums at the 4th grade of elementary school, because Joey was the one who made me the drummer for one of the bands in Indonesia..
When he did that drum solo that rose up and tilted and turned around I was just amazed when I saw that many years ago when I was a huge Slipknot fan. This is a great tribute to him. I am so sorry to learn of his passing at such a young age. He gave so much of his great talents to so many bands. RIP Joey
@@thebikewatcher9819 Thank you for that information. I wasn't a big fan of Crue because I thought they were a glam/hair band though I did like some of their songs. I just watched a video of Tommy drum spinning solo, nice! I think Joey reinvented Tommy's riser or Tommy had more than riser.
Starting off...props for the video! Nice compilation of his best stuff. Joey...watching you on your kit was nothing short of epic. At the ripe age of 55, you sparked a desire for me to learn drums. I still am wanting to, but all I have left is to watch your videos to drive me forward. You brought so much to metal, and are a star among stars. Slipknot changed after your departure...and it's not like it used to be. Miss your frenzy bro! RIP sensi...
Он вообще человек?) Великий барабанщик, скорость и мастерство поражает, еще и головой крутит)) Жаль, что рано ушел, такой выдающийся, лучший барабанщик всех времен(((
Buddy Rich, Gene Krup, Keith Moon, John Bonham, Neil Peart, Nicko Mcbrain, Dave Lombardo, Charlie Benante & Joey Jordison all forever Masters of Their Craft! Rest In Peace Joey Jordison!... if I missed some my apologies, don't want to offend or be disrespectful!
I'm so glad I had the pleasure of meeting him, the man bought me a bottled water and gave me a hug at Mayhem Festival years ago. I'll never forget that 🖤💙💚💜 Rest easy bro, and stay loud
When you lose someone that was so importantly influential in your life even just hearing their name reduces me to tears, the only other person that has that power over me is my old man. Two heroes taken too soon but never forgotten
God.... So many of the end parts are from the All Hope Is Gone DVD.... I remember watching it and loving ever second of what I was hearing and seeing. When Joey's parts arrived... Man... I couldn't believe it. How aggressive but elegant his playing was. Like man... I heard the perfect description of his sound by someone " Joey's sound was like what being on the edge of control sounds like. " His insane speed and razor sharp accuracy is something I have always admired about him. This guy changed the way I heard music and what standard were set for me. Forever in my heart and Soul and In my music library lol. Is where he will always be for me. Thanks so much for making this. Even though I never met Joey or seen him, I'm glad I can hear his Craft and see his art. :3

R. I. P joey you will be deeply missed by everyone , your awesome. I've been listening to slipknot since I was a kid & I had no idea that you was on the drums, your a very awesome drummer & person 🙂
Met Joey J at Oz Fest in 99 when Slipknot was a side stage act. Met him in Chicago watching a band in the lawn. Had no clue who he or Slipknot was at the time. Ever since that day I seen them play every time they came to Chicago. Joey u were a cool ass cat brother u will be missed man. Your energy was mesmerizing and will not be out matched. You are with your favorite band members in Dime and Vinny brother make some sick music where ever u guys are. Rip bro glad I got to have that 20 mins hanging and talking drums music and life bro!!!
And I’ve also noticed that people have been hating on Jay a lot more since Joey passed. There’s no debate to have, they’re both insane, no one should disrespect either regardless if they’ve passed away or not.
I am fortunate I got to see joey drum during the pledge of allegiance tour in 01 and also got to see him vertical anti gravity spin drum. Except my memory remembers the pentagram being on fire. Lol R.I.P 🔥🔥🔥
