Joey Logano remembers the rollercoaster ride through NASCAR and Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR), which eventually landed him a car at Team Penske. Joey - along with his dad Tom and wife Brittany - takes us through the plethora of opportunities that blossomed when Joey was 15 - once Mark Martin heralded him as a future star in the sport. Joey says racing and winning came too easy for him during his early years, which led to an inflated ego and a reluctance to work hard and properly prepare for a race. Plus, the Loganos discuss a pivotal win at Pocono in 2012 that motivated Roger Penske to give Joey a second chance in the sport.

The more I listen to Logano speak the more I respect his vision and drive in this sport. Much respect for Joey. Awesome interview guys. Loved it

Logano proved he is a generational talent, who stands by the way he drives and owns the consequences of it. It's been fun to watch him mature over the years. I can understand why people would be mad about the Truex incident, but all the other little things were just racing. I also think he got a lot of stick from NASCAR fans for being from a northern state, and being branded "rich." Which is kind of ridiculous and total reverse snobbery. Props to Joey for staying true to who he is.

I mean I know that I would never get a response from the kid... well not a kid as he's in his 30s... but I've backed him since the day he took over the 20. Yeah he made some dumb decisions but I attribute that to youth. People still give him flak and it's fine, cause I remember how it was since I was a lil Caribbean boy seeing NASCAR at 3 yrs old in 1979 on TV at one of my visits to New York. Drivers will be drivers, but they ALL mature in one way or another. Joey is no different. And if I could tell him that to his face, I would tell him I'm happy to see the person he is and hope for many years of success... not only in NASCAR, but life.

This is why I think Ty Gibbs is going to have a rough next couple of years. He's always been the best driver in the best stuff going up the ladder. But the jump to Sunday's is way bigger than the jump from K&N > ARCA > Xfinity like he's done in the last few years. His emotional maturity is going to struggle with a 15th being considered a good day.
