From the 1962 Roger Corman movie THE PREMATURE BURIAL starring Ray Milland. "The main character expresses concern about being buried alive. This fear was common in this period and Poe was taking advantage of the public interest. The story has been adapted to a film." This video made me really emotional when I first saw it. I love that it takes this simple concept and changes it into something totally different. The video starts with him in the graveyard already, shocked and unable to process his own death. Suddenly he wakes up back home, all is normal, but he looks at his life differently. He's taking in every detail, anxiously appreciating every single thing and person around him. And yet the story returns to his funeral procession in the end.
