Mallary Dollar said there were about 60 people who signed up for the Jog for Jaydyn 5K run / walk at Kiwanis Park on Oct. 5. The event was a fundraiser for the Jaydyn Ramos Memorial Scholarship, which will be given to graduating seniors from local high schools.
The event and a memorial foundation which will house funding for the scholarships is named for Ramos, who died tragically, when her vehicle was struck by a train in August of 2023. The 17-year old was just days away from starting her final year in high school.
