W takes. Morgana isn't even an antagonist or atleast a villanic antagonist in the first place, unlike other acclaimed antagonists per say, Johan, Friend or Griffith. Thier narrative develops them as an antagonistic figure to the fullest throughout their entire stories. Morgana's narrative, can not be simplified as simple "antagonist" or "protagonist". Imo, she's neither of them, or rather, she can be both of them through different people's perspectives.

@@errwhattheflip why do you think he takes depth and complexity? I think too many people confuse convoluted writing with character complexity. Johan's character is written in a very vague and convoluted way. But that doesn't necessarily give him more depth as a character.
@@shutup6472 I think the things related to his ontological insecurity/identity crisis, his hidden desire for a normal life, the love he has for his sister which recontextualizes all the atrocities he commits, his backstory playing into his nihilistic worldview, and other parts feel more complex than what Morgana has imo. Just a bit though. Johan's character is supposed to be a mystery. Depth and detail is added in small bits that add up to a greater whole
@@errwhattheflip imo Morgana has similar levels of complexity with the interplay between her two sides, the tragic flaw of her pride and ego, her self centred nature, religious worldview, her hidden emotions(for example feeling guilt towards the men who wronged her) etc. I wouldn't necessarily say she has more depth/complexity than Johan quantitatively. I think they are around equal in that field. The only reason I would have Morgana>=Johan is because I think the different aspects of her character are explored much better.
@@shutup6472 I don't think there's a big difference between Johan and Morgana in terms of who's more complex. I personally just marginally prefer Johan in that regard, but I don't have any issue with them being equal there. But some of these things I wouldn't say really come too close to Johan's psychological complexity (the pride and ego stuff, narcissistic nature, etc.) stuff that you mentioned. There's plenty of other stuff to Morgana that I think is on that level. Yeah, they're definitely on the same level there. I think Johan's depth/complexity is marginally higher particularly in how it completely recontextualizes his character and pushes his development for me. But both are god tier characters
Complexity and depth Johan? What? Did you read a requiem for innocence, Reincarnation and the side stories(especially dreams of the revenant)? Morgana is at least equal to him in that department. Her prideful nature that went against the qualities of sainthood which she was brainwashed into because of her mother's lies and ultimately leads to her spirit splitting into 2 as the gap between her two selves increases can easily rival Johan's nihilistic nature and sister complex/real self issues. Not to mention she had a nihilistic perspective of her own but couldn't kill herself because of her religious beliefs. And honestly she had many more aspects that I can't recall because I read Fata like 2 years ago. Assuming that's what you mean by depth/complexity.

Johan just believe he is monster and that fact don't let him live like a human but like a monster. He is just doing things as monster from book if he was in real life cause his mind associated him with that monster.
For me is Johan i can't relate to him and i never will and i don't want to but there is something about him that makes you question life, you find yourself having extremely Nihilistic thoughts he is a concept made into a character

Morgana definitely takes depth and complexity. She should take introduction as well. I'm talking about when she physically appeares at the end of door 7. From the beginning upto that point of the story, her introduction was masterfully developed through out the narrative and better than Johan's introduction until episode four....
Nah, Johan and Morgana are around equal in depth and complexity, and Johan definitely takes introduction. It's one of the best villain introductions in the medium for a reason.

The junkers Guy had a police officer stationed to him in outside the hospital room , Now why did this dumbass run into a dark parking lot pre construction site and run yo the top floor and come right next to Johan… when he could have run into a police station or even locked himself in the hospital room in this matter? And even when he did come right next to him why did he just idiotically stay right next to him? Instead of running away, he was warning tenma like a NPC to not come up, so why? Let me tell you it was a dumb plot convenience to hype up Johan and introduce Johan in the most menacing way because the plot needed it, in a logical sense it’s dumb as fuck.The plot needed us to be dumbed down to a extent to Buy into Johan being a unnatural work of nature who’s havoc relentlessly can make one uneasy and hover the word “Death at its epitome” in continuity as long as exists, but only to those he encounters. That’s why it opts for a absurdism for the continuity of the plot, even if it plot convenient. Monster ows us realism, yet it fails to write such momments without plot holes or plot conveniences. I would say Michel's Introduction in door 4 is easily better. It had a genuine build-up from door 1-3, where constant foreshadowing about his characteristics were given throughout Michel was portrayed as a mysterious enigma being in first person as "you" makes it the perfect method to explore the doors to deduce the protagonist's identify yourself. Door 4 takes the task of deducing the protagonist into a philosophical level, Morgana throughout until now had perfectly manipulated the plot into considering The White Haired Girl as "you". And why she does that? She sees The White Haired Girl as a vulnerable human, which is a trait she also considers to be in Michel. But exactly why she intents so much to do it? Because The White Haired Girl, being half of her, also represents her sainthood, which is a past trait she self loths herself with. That being said, she unconsciously was in a fear WHG being her incarnation, that's why, unconsciously she puts her all into shoving the case into being the other possibility, which was Michel. Michel on the other hand, subconsciously, puts his all into rejecting any possibility of WHG being him, even while in door 1-3, while Morgana puts her all into the reverse. In door 2, Michel subconsciously but constantly interpretes things to reject any possibility of WHG being him, do you know the reason why in door 2 when The Maid talks with the WHG for the first time, she asked her what was her name, she said WHG replied with ( ******** ) notice it has 8 stars for censorship, for it being "Michelle", and The Maid replies with ( Oh you're still ****** ) this time it had 5 stars, for it being "Michel", fun fact both Michel and Michelle are pronounced in the same way, and there's were no differences in the conversation of Maid and WHG as they both heard the same thing, yet Michel subconsciously interprets both names in a different way. Why? Michelle is the name he despises, takes away his actuality, similar to Morgana, who despises "Michelle" for it reminding her sainthood that had caused her regrets and pain, that's why she always shoves all the possibility into Michel and wants to believe only in this, while Michel is the reverse, he puts all of himself into believing WHG being Morgana, and rejectes the possibility of it himself. Morgana due to her duality, admirers Michel and wants to be like him through WHG, while at the same time loths him for him representing her of her sainthood as The Witch. That's why they had a debate about the WHG's identify, including an ideological warfare in end of Door 4, where both were constantly shoving and rejecting their delusions into each other, through Michel's sheer believe in his's own identity, just like we saw it in doo 7, Morgan's schemes finally fails and she warns Michel that he would regret for it. After that, we delve into the original Michel's story, The Fifth Door, which imo is a introduction that easily outclass Johan's Introduction with sheer brilliance and geniue writing. The fact that there were many more aspects to it which I have forgotten because I read it long ago, for example Morgana wanting particularly only Michel and Giselle, after pact only Giselle, to be her ally in her vengeance mission, that's why she doesn't allow Michel or Giselle to reclaim themselves, which has a whole another plethora of analysis I'm not bothering to write right now. So yeah, you can take an idea, and this was only Michel's Introduction, Morgana's introduction surpasses at the end of Doo 7 when she physically appearers after the embrace of Michel and Giselle, has tons of brilliancy more than a small thing I wrote here, and that far outclasses that flawed lazy writing that Johan's introduction had. Although I would agree Johan's introduction was still very great, on a critical write perspective, it ain't all that, not coming close to Michel's, let alone Morgana's
