This is indeed an extraordinary interpretation,... no it´s more than that, it´s simply MAGICAL,... When you start listening to Mr. Perez rendition you get captivated by the drama, the sadness and disconsolation. Feeling and emotions emerge lyrically evolving with such intensity, so you no longer can be a "distant" spectator and you suddenly start vibrating with the music, which is full of feelings, full of contrasts and nuances, rich in colours. Mr. Perez´s virtuosity and technical mastery of the instrument are used solely to enhance the characteristic of this outstanding musical piece. AN EXCEPTIONAL INTERPRETATION. BRAVO MAESTRO.
This performance is just amazing!!. The technique, clean sound, the quality of the recording (the sound engineer did a great job in keeping the natural sound of the instrument, without killing the vibratos and without the extra reverb...). But above all, is the music. Wonderfully interpreted by Carlos, with so much passion, playing with the tempo and the colors of the guitar when needed. Really masterful. What a great artist! You will not find a better rendition. Carlos, felicitaciones y saludos desde el Peru.
C'est avec un plaisir renouvelé et émerveillé que j'écoute Carlo Perez interpréter "Elégie". Voilà un guitariste maître incontesté : un miracle de la nature!
Marvelous! Unbelievable! Man, this the best interpretation of this peace I have ever heard! Thanks a lot for sharing your talent with us! Congratulations! Please, keep posting!
@Ignaciomrozas That's a Manuel Contreras guitar, not Rodriguez... anyway, Carlos does not use Contreras now, he's using a guitar by Angel Benito Aguado.
the classical guitar is such a beautiful, versatile and colourful instrument, especially when it comes to melancholic or tragic tunes, it reveals its full power i'm playing this masterpiece by myself at the moment, and there aren't many other pieces that touched my heart and soul like this one and moved me in such incredible ways
This is brilliant! At first I was turned off by how slow the beginning was, but as the piece progressed I was glad you started so slowly - it allowed the rest of the piece to build up and create an amazing interpretation.
Definitely Mr Peres is one of the best classical guitarist in the world with his sexcellent technic, excellent nuances, and excellent feelings......extremely superb. millions of bravoooooos....!
Carlos Perez! que orgullo!!! me entusiasma y me conforta con su pasión, realmente de los mejores del mundo!!! como se dice en Colombia ESO ES TENER GUEVAS!!! "VIVA LATINOAMERICA"
Solid technique and nice phrasing.... Impeccable dynamics. Thanks for sharing. And last but not least to say that it is artists like this that make the guitar such a desirable. instrument to play... :) Bravo!

You're very welcome. I have a guitar by chilean luthier Rafael Mardones "Top TBS" which is Spruce top with Brazilian RW back and sides. I also have a guitar by another chilean luthier, Carlos López which is an Australian type lattice braced cedar top with Indian RW in back and sides, very different from the Mardones. What about your guitar? Regards.
wow, what a fantastic interpretation. i have never heard it played so well and so emotively. what is the guitar? she has beautiful tone both in the bass and the trebles.
his voicing and dynamics are amazing, and this is a beautiful piece. (I'm working on it) I'm not sure if I'm going to use so much rubato on my final interpretation though.
this is the ultimate lullaby. one of the most beautiful song ive ever heard and played. up there with Moonlight sonata. so peaceful and powerful at the same time. melody and tension perfectly blended. with the somber emotion of the Romantic that really reminds me of Chopin. perfection, and something i never tire of listening to
