If I could only throw half as far I would be happy...

He has some good technical points but some big faults too. Way way too big of a reach with the left foot.

What’s up?

if these elite throwers could just throw through the point a little better and not let the tail drop so much, they would be throwing 10m further
@Throwshub
@Throwshub 3 года назад
If it was that easy, we would all be doing it. I myself am a JT and hitting it through the point at max power and speed is a lot easier said than done. But I fully agree.
@Dah_J

@@Throwshub I know. I never said it was easy. I just said if it were done, they would gain a lot of distance

@@Dah_J apologies, I didn’t mean for that to come across to you personally I mean in general. But I fully agree. I see it a lot, not so much with the Germans, oddly enough the Indian javelin throwers don’t seem to hit it though the point at all, not all the time just some of the time
@Dah_J
@Dah_J 3 года назад
@@Throwshub yeah I have noticed that too. In my own throws myself I have not figured out how to throw through the point when I run up fast. It seems the faster I come into my block, the more the tail of the javelin drops and it almost stalls. My throws are perfectly through the point on standing throws and three steps, but as soon as I go to a full run up, it’s like my arm collapses under the pressure and the back of the javelin just drops
@Throwshub
@Throwshub 3 года назад
@@Dah_J so. When you run keep the point close to your head, keep the tail level or slightly higher as when you do the impulse step you will naturally lean back, Think, javelin is the last thing to go, so get in front of the javelin when running, ease it back to head during transition, and then when you hit it, imagine a small ring around the tip of the javelin, implying that all your energy needs to go into the javelin and throws through the that ring, and make sure that you don’t drop your elbow that is a big cause for the tail dropping

vetter is a quitter and loser. If you want to idolize a good thrower try Ewe Hohn, Tom Petranoff or even Erasquian from 1956 who threw 112 meters using a spin. Hohn threw 104 and petranoff threw 99 meters plus. Vetter is no good without Rohler and easy competition to prop him up. Just a flash in the pan and he needs a wind to push his throws further.

He got injured…. I don’t understand why you are bringing up old rules javelin-throwers it just wasn’t his day. Rohler has thrown 93, Vetter 97, regardless of how you look at it, that’s bloody good, today’s competition just wasn’t his, look at the Czechs, vesley has been crap for years yet pulls out a 85. Calling someone a looser because they didn’t go all out is just sad. It’s just one of those Competitions.
