NIV is a water-downed edition of the Bible. In order for each new modern translation to be published, it has to have enough edits through removal, addition, or replacement of verses or individual words to make that new translation unique from other translations prior to the new one. Then, each new translation is copyrighted as well. It's insidious because it causes divisions among the brethren who are truly in Christ and confusion as to which translation(s) should be used in service and study. I personally use the KJV because King James had to deal with witches casting spells upon him and his family. The story of the North Berwick witches and Agnes Sampson is a great example of how real the spiritual warfare was going on at that time. He wrote Deamonlogie which was a dialogue about witchcraft and defining and explaining different terms and practices. That was written before the 1611 Authorized Bible was published. Not to mention that Guy Fawkes and his band of accomplices were hired by the Catholic Church to try to destroy Parliament with King James present. The KJV has a very high vocabulary level, and if you really study and compare different words to each other, the Word becomes so profoundly deep and rich. Seek the truth continually, He will continue to guide you through the straight and narrow path.
