For 1800 years before your cult came it has always been taught as water baptism, your own interpretation means absolutely nothing. Jesus says "I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to Repentance" (Luke 5:32) Jesus told his Disciples to proclaim "Repentance and forgiveness of sins" in his name to all the nations (Luke 24:47). When the apostles preached in acts, they called people to repent of their sins in order to be forgiven ( see acts 2:38, 3:19, 8:32, 17:30, 20:21, 26:20). The apostle paul makes it clear that those whose lives are characterized by sin "will not inherent the kingdom of God" (1 cor. 6:9 - 10; see also rom. 8:12 - 13, gal. 5:21, eph. 5:5). So, it seems that even those outside of orthodoxy know that Repentance is necessary step towards salvation. Lord have mercy on us all.
You added the words "of your sins" to those verses. "Repent of your sins" is not found once in the Bible. Repentance is a change of mind. That's why the Bible says God repents over 30 times (such as Jonah 3:10). Repentance for salvation is turning from unbelief to belief (see Matthew 21:31-32, where Jesus says the publicans and harlots enter in the kingdom because they believed, but the Pharisees will not because they did repent, that they might believe).
@thirdstrike4u Absolutely. You must show remose for your wrong doings, make a attempt to put things right and stop sinning as much as possible. Don't let lukewarm people tell you repentance isn't necessary.

Before I watched this video there is a question in my mind the word " water " in the passage of John 3:5 , I couldn't understand what is meant but someone is telling me at the back of my mind that the" water" is the is the Amiotic fluid the one that comes out after the sac breaks and before the baby is born.. and I was surprised to hear that in this video.. nice video.tnnx
Its funny when you realize the term "water break" didnt appear until the 1500s John 3:3 , Jesus states we have to be born again to be saved John 3:4, Nicodemus asks how can someone be born again? John 3:5, Jesus states the specifics of being born again, to be born again is to be born of water and Spirit John 3:6, This is the first statement where Jesus mentions child birth, He says "Flesh gives birth to Flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit" I will explain later how Baptism is involved in "giving birth to Spirit" John 3:5 doesnt allude to child birth, It explains how someone is born AGAIN. Born into a life with Jesus Christ Read Romans 6, We are baptized into Christ, we die in Christ... and then we rise with Christ, we die to sin in Baptism, but are alive to Jesus Christ. this is indubitably speaking of how we are born to a new life in Christ, we are born again.
