This is a very unique sort of Viennese Waltz. I like the Broadway-esque style. I must admit while I do see a few issues with it, I did find this charming and so fun. It was very clever and just down right adorable. Go John and Johannes!
Boys! As classy and as whimsical as Bert himself! Wow! What a really unique Viennese Waltz. I'm happy. Their unique style of dancing is back!! So lovely and synchronised. So theatrical. Enjoyable. Agree with Anton though. Be more Pirates Paso!!!
What a great routine. John is looking really comfortable in the leader role, he has a nice posture and frame and looks very clean. When he goes into the follower role, he looks like he is trying to look behind his left shoulder, instead of using his upper back to achieve the shaping. I've said before that he appears stiff in the spine and I don't think that he is getting any more flexible. Great body contact, correct footwork in the Fleckerl, good drive over the floor when in hold, I enjoyed this very much.John and Johaness for the final!
I dance for some time now and I'm very surprised. There are not that many possibilities to make a viennese Walz unique. But this one was. It was technically not perfect but it was unique and fun! 😊
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. 🎉 howdy from coastal Mississippi. Oh my gravy, that was such an excellent dance. Loved it! Only wish Dancing with the Stars would allow male couple dancing. Thank y'all for such a treat 😁
Much as I loved this - feel like it was a missed opportunity to have them as the princes from Into the Woods, doing 'Agony'. Could have been a gorgeous swing and sway VW with in-built performance and character opportunity from the brothers' competition to be the most hard-done-by! Ah well. Next all-male couple we get, maybe.
For me this was under appreciated, that was excellent, the topline is so much better recently and body contact, unfortunately because of the camerawork I couldn't see the footwork mostly but the bits I saw were fantastic, out of hold it was perfection, beautifully in time, beautifully lyrical, great performance, it had lovely travel and movement and the performance was extremely entertaining, it'll be an injustice if they are not in the final. *9/10*
I just have this feeling that they are supposed to do better as the mixed couples? Because their 2 males?? This was a 9 minimum not a 8! Why does other couples gets tens and nines... when even the professional dancer makes some little mistakes in the footwork.... My opinion.
@@paulfrancisleysen because they are scared of looking like they're sucking up to the gay couple, as ridiculous as it is that is their mindset, so in turn they give high scores to Dan Walker aka a very much so person of a majority nature
You know the J boys were superb as usual, but could we talk about that dance floor. They always have wonderful dances, sets, costumes, music and guest singers/stars. But the floor itself is incredible. In this number it can become rooftops,in one of Tilly's numbers it was a growing chessboard. The sky's the limit w/this floor, therefore I'm loving it.
Mary Poppins is one of my favourites, saw the musical from Disney and Cameron Mackintosh at the Prince Edward Theatre in London on Saturday 14th December 2019 which was brilliant and amazing, the 1964 classic film was shown on BBC One before Strictly Musicals and the film is one of my favourites with the songs like Chim Chim Cher-ee, Let’s Go Fly A Kite, A Spoonful of Sugar and Jolly Holiday and the score like the Overture
I appreciate the complexity of Tilly’s Couple’s Choice piece; for an amateur, her execution was extraordinary. But a 40? Really? AJ’s and Kai’s Edelweiss Waltz was exquisite. John’s and Johannes’ Chim Cheree Viennese Waltz was magnetic. Those couples deserved 40s as well
I swear, these two are always in the middle of cleaning/working when they just get suddenly distracted and start dancing. You're never gonna get the jobs done at this rate! 😜
John has been good throughout and that to me is becoming a problem. He needs to elevate his performance, he needs to WOW us and since Pirates of the Caribbean its been ....nice.
Agreed. I think that can be said for all top three couples. Aj, rose, and John need to do something at a higher level. Especially if they are going to score other inconsistent couple high.
I feel like Johannes keeps being the one to look at these past couple of weeks. I just feel like John has lost a bit of energy in his dancing recently. And.. that slip. But... on the positive side, it all came together extraordinarily and the footwork was nothing but seamless! My score: 8
Glad the judges said the exact same thing I said last week, he's got so much more to give. That being said, I really, really enjoyed this, wasn't exactly a romantic waltz but a great dance nonetheless.
My score: 8.5 Not his best dance, his feet were a little bit messy however this dance was beautiful and the props are very hard to use and he performed it very well!
I agree. Not just John but rose and aj. They need to push it. Especially because the lesser performances are getting high marks. If your constant it’s boring. Need something more from top three
I'd rather this was more in hold, especially as it was the first time john seemed comfortable in both roles in hold. I do agree with the judges that john needs to step up, Johannes needs to push him more and tone his own dancing down.
I guessed they would score low and tilly high! They need to add drama like last week. If jojo and John are in the dance off and Dan and tilly are safe. That is total bs!!
I agree. If Tilly is safe and John is in the dance off, I will be mad. No hate for Tilly, she's great, but how her couples choice got 10's boggles my mind.
I like these 2 dancing tbh but they need to be carefull they dont get themselves in a comfort zone they need to keep upping there game and they will make it to the final i enjoyed this dance but not there best imo
So at any point will they actually do a romantic, intimate number, or will this pairing be doomed to some Frankenstein, hybrid Broadway, clubbing, weird dance far away from each other choreography week after week....
i have a feeling the BBCs stance on this "you can be gay...but we'll decide *how* gay". They couldve gotten a much better dance and theme (there are SO many camp musicals out there that wouldve made them shine) but instead theyre two random chimney sweeps dancing to one of the most boring songs from mary poppins. Like, come on BBC. This is Musicals week! Its literally the gayest week of strictly anyway! Let John and Johannes shine in it! The dance was good, but they couldve had a song and theme that had much more to give. Quite underwhelming honestly.
From the hips up, delightful. John's frame has come on leaps and bounds. Unfortunately, his footwork lacked grace which made it feel a bit quicksteppy at times. Needs to work on leading with the heel and working through the foot rather than just stepping onto it. 8
Are you guys done Mary Poppins you done Mary Poppins Mary Poppins one1 you are a good dancer I think you I think you win strictly come dancing through the gratulation do you like your new jugs jugsx🥰🥰🥰💖💖💖❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕💕😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣♥️♥️♥️💙💙💙💕💕💕🤗💖💖❤️😘😘😘😘😘💖🥰🏆The champions Liverpool for both of you Stuart league Liverpool
I hate to say this but i think Johannes was the wrong pro to do the first male on male couple with he's made it all about him to the point that John is almost sidelined it hasn't helped John in any way. This was good but Johannes needs to listen to the fans and make it more about John
They are brilliant .. of course they are .. but i'm not sure about two men can dance ballroom properly or it is maybe more difficult for them .. john and jojo big tall guys .. not sure they can improve their ballroom or how they can do that ..
It's not, for some reason they are not engaging properly with each other and sticking to look like just two blokes dancing rather than an actual couple. Lots of vids on RU-vid of male pairs dancing ballroom properly.....
Score: *7.5* I didn't like the dance this week, I'm afraid. John's frame has gotten better, however, I feel like I saw more Johannes and not enough John. The turns needed a bit more fluidity and grace. I do agree with Cynthia maybe the energy was down, maybe if the energy was up and more confidence in the movements, it probably would have been epic.
I think these two are excellent dancers however, this was a Viennese Waltz and they spent the majority of time out of hold. They seem to be sticking with the synchronised moves rather than being in hold. The other contestants are all improving but, I feel John and Johannes are stagnant. Just my own opinion
@@sergioroman2920 they are stuck between 32s and 38s. While other couples like Giovanne and his partner are getting 40s, they are just stuck between the same range of scores
I just have this feeling that they are supposed to do better as the mixed couples? Because their 2 males?? Because they make it more spectacular?? This was a 9 minimum not a 8! Why does other couples gets tens and nines... when even the professional dancer makes some little mistakes in the footwork.... My honest opinion.
Sadly, John's ballroom is not improving. This is his 4th ballroom dance and for me he is plateauing, he does not seem to improve. What was lacking for me the most is the gliding - pushing really hard into the floor to create a dynamic movement. John was also unstable at moments and I wanted to see a bit more rise and fall, and also sway. If that is not enough, I would have loved to see a little bit more in the ballroom hold. John demonstrated great sense of rhythm, he acted the dance amazingly well, his spins were so clean and delightful, but at times it felt that the theme of the musical took over the actual dance. For his future ballroom dance, and I really hope that John will be given at least one more (the waltz or the foxtrot), John must lift up his game. He can't be a true contender to win the show if he does not show improvement. He needs to learn to glide more, he needs to work on his sway and generally he needs to work much harder on using his feet correctly, though they were wheels, and he is a driver in a car, and by this wheels he navigates his way on the dancefloor. Great frame by the way, but not impressive footwork. My score: a 6.
Thought this was hideous. Johannes is enjoying himself so much sashaying about he seems to forget that his role is to showcase the celebrity. As a result he makes John's limitations and errors look worse.
Johannes is not sashaying. Why would you use that term if not to expose your own issues? It would be fine if he were sashaying, but he’s not. He’s just giving a great performance. When two people of the same gender are dancing in parallel, you cansee the difference between the pro & the celebrity more clearly, but they both looked fantastic. You need to think about why you are being so hostile.
I watched jojo carefully after reading your comment .. i did not see that he over danced it, even as a pro, he did not dance it the best way a pro can dance ( like when they dance with other pros ). He was so calm and slows his movement down to being syncronised with john ..
time for them to go, they have had their chance , they are nowhere near as good as they should be to carry on, the other contestants are miles better than them,,, TAXI !
🤯🤯🤯🤯what is it ??? What for ? Man needs a woman .. sorry but it’s awful 😣 there is traditional way of upbringing, and it must be so … plz stop … I don’t care what people do in there beds , but it mustn’t be like this , on tv 🥺
So it's OK to see all the way up to a woman's underwear on TV, when they're wearing dresses that have a split right to the top, with their cleavage popping out? But you can't watch 2 fully clothed men having a dance for 2 minutes? And what has this got to do with what people do in their bedroom? Are the male/female couples having sex? No, so why would you bring that into it? Get a grip
All the celebs brought their A-Game tonight. They are in it to win it! Also, I applaud the orchestra, who were magnificent tonight, as they have been all season
