John Astin Reads Poe's El Dorado 

At the Poe Bicentennial in Baltimore on October 11, 2009, John Astin presided over the memorial service held in Edgar Allen Poe's honor. At the very end, he gave an impassioned reading of the poem El Dorado. This video, taken over the shoulders of people in the period mourning foliage, shows how the man who first played Gomez Adams back in the 1960s can still mesmerize a crowd.
