Same here! In my opinion, John is much more enjoyable to watch because he fights with his arm, not his mouth. Devon needs half a year between matches to break his opponents down with trash talk. Toxic for the otherwise great atmosphere in the AW community.
@@LeahRobb You said exactly what I was going to. The more I see John's matches and how he conducts himself the more I respect him. And the more I see Devon the more respect I lose for him. Since he looks so much like Roddy Piper he should have gone into Professional Wrestling where they do much more talking than performing
@@reallymysterious4520 Clearly that makes two of us who 'don't know anything about arm-wrestling' 😛 I don't know Piper. Anyways, I'm hoping Devon comes back changed because he hasn't always been so mouthy. Banter is fun. Respect is awesome. But if trash talk and twisting opponents' words is what is growing the sport, let it grow less fast. It doesn't need people who thrive on that kind of drama to be fans.
No athlete has dominated his sport for so long. No one even close. But also a great steward of the sport and great sportsman. More rare today where you mostly see cocky jerks who havent earned 1/10th of what JB earned over decades.
3:59 Coach: "in the wrist *demonstrating*, try harder" Pavlo: "It does not matter" Coach: "He is stronger, or hurts?" Pavlo: "I cannot fight him" Coach: "Alright understood" So badass!
❤️🙏🤜🤛 thank you so much for the translation. If you hear a second before this conversation… he tells Chris Chandler “I pulled a muscle in my belly”. Pavlo was already done at this point. Suffered abdominal injury.
It really shows just how far ahead of everyone else John was in his prime. When a man can be almost 60yo and still competitive on a world level, it's quite amazing. I can only imagine how he must have felt in his prime.
@@MrMultimango Yep, and I think Toddzilla is the strongest puller under SHW. I think this version of Todd will definitely beat John. The question is, can John continue to improve as Todd has? Their style of training is totally different, but John has some natural gifts that other arm wrestlers need to train decades for, so we will see. I don't think there are many arm wrestlers in history who have the natural gifts John possesses, but weight training can help with that.
Respect to both of them. Good arm wrestling, no bs, no clowns, not messing with other's head, no hiding under the table. John is so strong for his age and humble
It would already be an honor to shake hands with John Brzenk. How much more, pulling him. All these people should cherish and pay homage to the GOAT. No trash talk, non of the Larratt nonsense antics. The perfect storm!
No trash talk. I agree. I cannot be bothered watching all the lead up to the Devon v Levan match because it is toxic and disrespectful. I otherwise like Devon when he is not working towards a match.
The Goat of all Goats. Who in the world you could say has been at the pinnacle of a physical sport for 4 decades and still going. John Brzenk. Should be a movie documentary showing real footage, the inside story. The Legend of Legends.
"Oh baby, oh baby oh baby baby baby. Owww!" 😂 And the crowds reaction at 2:23. John is something special man. Guy never ceases to amaze. And the quality of this is incredible. Hope we get more top quality matches produced like this.
Hes a grey haired armwresting wizard these days. Still the man, everyone wins and loses , but this dude wins being humble and loses being humble . GOAT. It's amazing how he can keep the pressure on at that age like that, such an animal.
I saw this match in person, and Brad you seriously have outdone yourself!! The way you were able to honor the athletes and present it in such a finely crafted and entertaining way is outstanding. Thank you for bringing the sport to a whole new level! John looked truly incredible and Pavlo's skill, dedication and power continually impress me!
He gives the illusion of being in trouble or on the ropes and then grins and like a machine pulls the situation back where he wants it. The one and only.
🐺 🐺 🐺 OMG 217... it's like I just watched a totally different match than the one we all watched yesterday! All I can say is WOW... and please continue to keep on doing what you are doing! Phenominal job at recording and editing!!! John keeps getting better and better on his comeback! The goats at the goat farm all looking at John!
Pavlo looks like one of the sweetest arm wrestlers ever. I could tell he was glad he had the opportunity to pull john, and even though the outocme didn't go his way, he showed a level of professionalism and respect towards the GOAT that must be respected. Great job Pavlo you're only gonna go up from there. And John, well what can I say there's a reason hes the unchallenged goat. Still kicking ass at his age is simply inhuman but I guess that's what made him so great, his inhumanness. lol. Great editing and montage, top quality.
@@DanielleEvansen Yes, also i hope you're doing well, we met in San Diego when you came to pull with Devon. We gripped up and I was amazed by your power. Hope training is going well. You prob don't remember me, that's ok lol, if you wanna remember what i look like type my name in tik tok;)
John returned being WISER, stronger and humble. He became a gentleman. This is truly a raw model for future generations. A homage to a legend. Always, wholesome.
John is a blessing :D I have had 'portrait painter's block' since around 2016 but when John had his comeback, it somehow released me back into painting portraits (because I have a plan to paint a biographical portrait of him) and I have now painted 18 portraits, mostly of Ukrainian refugees since 25th March. That is an insane amount of portraits in such a short comeback after such a long time feeling blocked...I hope to meet him and Renee some day.
@@rstlr01 so you're telling us you're attributing John's success, at the very peak of arm wrestling, over decades, is because of ped use? You know there's a telltale sign for guys that use, and for guys that use heavily, right? Take a guy like Ermes Gasparini. Do you see how much size he put on in the past 4 or 6 years? or from when he started arm wrestling? How about Levan; from when he started to the size he is today... It's funny but I don't recall anything like that ever happening with John Brzenk. Now I am not saying that I know, beyond doubt, that John has not used or is not using peds but I sure don't think you can attribute ANY substantial (or really even minorly significant)portion of his greatness to them.
@@rstlr01 All the elites are now on steroids, not like youre saying something no one knows bud. By the way John is in his 70's and still kicking this young buys ass.... lol.
This is the very best ever filmed armwrestling footage and it puts the entire match into a perspective that I have not whiteness before. This is what could make this sport so whoever you are keep doing this cause you sir may have changed this sport!!!
You should watch the arm wars iron house videos if you haven't already. They are done super well also. I'm glad arm wrestling is being presented in this way. I agree with you; it adds a level of passion to the production of the sport that we haven't seen before, and its great.
This may be the best 6:10 on RU-vid right now. Music spot on the camera angles spot-on. The look of concern and the look of a lion about to take down his prey. Happening within seconds. This is pretty awe-inspiring
On another channel, I seen this guy filming, thinking I wish I could see "that" angle. Now I do. A whole different feel to the match from this angle. Thanks!
@@thetruth7046 Brad is talented enough to make any angle work, but because of his outstanding talent and crazy amount of work and dedication he puts in he more than deserves to be THAT gut!!! Hats off to Maestro!
Beautiful edit. It's so much better when the camera is up close and personal and you get to see the details of hand position, facial expression and you hear every word the guys might be saying clearly. It takes the experience to a whole other level.
I am in shock. I know I shouldn't be surprised at how amazing John still is, but the fact that he dominated Pavlo in this fashion shows that he is still at an elite level. Especially since Pavlo in my opinion is easily top 15 in NA. Always a pleasure to see John, and Pavlo is always a great sport.
Correct. This was no “easy” opponent. Pavlo is no.4 RH and no.1 LH in the US for a reason. Very worthy. John is just being John. No way around it. Unreal.
I can't believe the number of people trying to record this match on their phones in the audience. Put your phones away, and watch this superbly professionally done video after the fact! Amazing video work.
John is just the greatest athlete to his own sport of reference, who has ever walked planet earth. Period. Such dominance after coming back from retirement.... insane.
I saw another angle, but you could see in detail here the perfect timing John has in waiting for good position, then transitioning to his press. People can call John from the old generation and he was "lucky" he "grew up" in easier competition but he really is something special on the table. He's still kicking ass all over the place
What a pleasure to watch 2 true gentlemen and sportsmen... My respect to both of you... This is how one should behave and compete. You are a credit to the sport and the human race.
I love both of these guys! John is the greatest man to be in the sport and there is nothing much else to say. Pavlo on the other hand is a relatively new face in the sport, really strong dude, but what i like the most about him is that he is humble and silent type. No drama, trash talking, yelling or making scenes whatsoever. Man comes to the table does his job and leaves with dignity, be it victory or defeat. Great match! Great event! Great people! Great video too!
🐺 🐺 🐺 Totally agree George! John recognized this and didn't want him to lose face and offered him a lefty match! John had already won but this was his way of appreciating Pavlo and giving him a lane to beat him! Both athletes are class acts!
@@White.W0lfz to be honest i was sure Pavlo is going to blow John away, because i remember a practice pull they did sometime around when John was prepping to pull Devon. Pavlo didn't pin him or anything but John seemed like he was giving his all into it but wasnt able to even move Pavlo from the center... John came a long way in short time span. Once again i love both of them and have the upmost respect for the them as well. Wish them all the best in the future.
