John ....your song Revolution couldn't be more relivant than to what is happening before us now....and may be the only way globally that will save us all and our children.
What gets me about this video is it's a character study. The people are the unique features in each of us. The little white mark on the ground is the moment of expression; be who you are, be what makes you fly. The hop of the ballerina, the native american dance, these are our passion and culture.
Probably one of the most pure songs I've ever heard. I know that term is vague, but this song is just pure in almost every aspect, lyrics, video, beat/rhythm, etc.
I love how, how real this is... How they used real people, not models or people with model-esque features, these are real people... I get chills every time I watch this video... This is real music.
I love you kids and family phoenix I am moving on in life now I have been doing well I am so happy for my kids and family and friends out there who have mental health and help me out nice talking with you guys
JBT will never become "pop" music, you can always count on magnificent guitar work, creative drumming and meaningful, inspirational lyrics. Keep it up JB, the world needs more you.
"Pay off those losers we elect to lead, stealing from the mouths that we're meant to feed. Enslaving the very clothes upon my back, I feel the sting but I hear no crack, no crack"
Musicians like to change, grow and try new things. Doesn't mean they are sell out. It is their right, just like it is your right to like it or not. Peace and love good people!
The lyric of "Take back your land" and the picture of the American Native Indian together? Stirring Stuff! I watch this video time and time again just for that one moment. Wonderful! Revolution!
God. I love this song... well written and performed. Has got to be one of the best protest songs i have ever heard.. keep up it up guys, cus we need to hear songs like these now more then ever..
frightening that this movie only has 150.000 views - He's such a grand musician, let's blame the big music producers that just milk young talents for their voice, and brainwashing young teenagers with sex and a 'good' life, whilst musicians with deeper lyrics have a much smaller audience. This also makes me feel lucky to have the taste of music to listen go artists like John Butler. Peace out people! Have a nice day.
So tell me when you think we're gonna rise? Wake from this slumber wipe the tears from our eyes? Yes from this nightmare yes I must now wake, Open my fist my destiny I take ! Good people sick and tired of being pushed around, We call them kings but I see no crown. Tell me when you think we'll just stand up, Say enough is enough is enough, enough I'm saying
i love the haters that hate on everything. if artist keep writing the same style albums every year they all go "ohh he s getting boring, nothing new", if experimenting with diff styles "he just sells out for money". trying something new is natural, especialy for some1 who s gifted like JB. peace and love to ya'll
@WNCorporation I pretty much agree with you. I think he has broken into mainstream America, but I wouldn't say that's 'pop', He hasn't lost his soul by any means! See him LIVE and you'll know he still has talent. Always upping his game. Never one to rest on his laurels. Always challenging us to do the same. Awakening others to the injustices of the world. I think it's a good thing... a very, very, good thing.
When I was younger (when this debuted) I thought this band was the best and most down to earth band ever. Now that I'm 31 in a few weeks my taste has changed and I've come to find these types of bands are A dime a dozen.
One of my favorites LIVE! LOVED the beginning when you performed it in Missoula, Montana! Blows me away that three peeps can produce that much amazing sound! LOVED how you cast ordinary people! I think that's the message... WE THE PEOPLE!!! John Butler is genuinely the real deal! Koolest kat ever!!!
As much as JBT has always been about the music, I feel like to spread their music to a wider audience, this video's visual aid works perfectly to do just that.
This is a great song and I absolutely love videos that use no special effects and just feature different varieties of humans. All colors, shapes, sizes, genders.
@ChrisCrisci how can any1 find fault with this awesome, intelligent video n song? i didn't see these ppl as stereotypes at all. just common ppl like me n u;from various walks of life. where's the stereotypes? u have all kinds in this vid. i luv the old guy dancing.still dancing even in his elder years. who else is making music n vid's like this today? maybe billy bragg.that's it. we need more music like this/ and more videos too. this is timeless here.

I don't try and hide behind sophistication like Johnny Boy up there. But here's a lovely little tune that's actually about something, even if it seems like it isn't... Which has - in a way - been my point the whole time really. Warren Zevon - 'Excitable Boy' And while we're here, Tom Waits - 'Get Behind The Mule' Cake - 'Comfort Eagle' Enjoy
