Adopting Rebecca and Matthew Video (Photos)
On April 16, 1988 Tammy and I got married. We started trying to have children in 1989. Years past and no children came into our lives. It seemed that everyone was having children except us.
In February 1998, thanks to Ron Stoddart and Nightlight Christian Adoptions, Tammy and I traveled to St. Petersburg Russia to adopt a little girl and a little boy. We named them Rebecca and Matthew. We traveled with two other families that were also adopting children from St. Petersburg Russia.
This video shares photos (scanned from my 35mm negatives) from that trip. You will see a lot more photos of Rebecca because we were allowed to keep her with us a few days before we were allowed to have Matthew, after the court hearing to make the adoption official, with us since he was so young. You will, also, see other orphans in the orphanages.
In one set of photos, after we met Rebecca in her orphanage, the photos I took are dark because, in my excitement, I forgot to turn on the flash on my camera. Humble apologies.
The Russian people are so kind and generous.
This video ends with us in Moscow Russia as we took a plane back to the United States of America with our two children Rebecca and Matthew.

Finally, in February 1998 Tammy and I were parents for the first time since we got married in April 1988.
In the following few years Tammy and I traveled back to St. Petersburg Russia and adopted another girl and boy. Starting in August 2003 we traveled to Minsk Belarus and adopted two more little girls.
We love our children more than I can possibly explain to you.
