JOHN CENA DESTROYS means-testing, ENDORSES unconditional cash transfers in 2024 movie “Ricky Stanicky"🤯
“GiveGreen chooses to offer unconditional cash transfers… Empowering poor people to make their own choices. Well, that advances their core value of respect...
Existing empirical evidence comparing the impact of conditional and unconditional cash transfers shows that these added costs simply do not produce commensurate benefits." - JOHN CENA

Wonderful. I support Give Directly and am so pleased to see the continuing evidence of the immediate impact that direct giving has on the recipients.

True that, and they've known this for decades but the problem is that 'we just can't give poor people money just like that. They only buy drugs and booze'. No they don't. And if someone does it so what?

Well you see, there's this guy "Pablo Escobar" and if you think someone like him can't happen in Canada you're living in a fantasy world, I'll say it's more expensive to smuggle guns into Canada but otherwise not that hard.

@@nickc3856 Why not? refusing to do something important for disadvantaged people because 1 in 20 might have a good time?

@@nickc3856 Poor people aren't any more or less likely to buy drugs and booze than rich people. The only difference is rich people are isolated from the possible consequences because of their wealth.

@@nickc3856social worker here. It's mindsets like this that make my job really fucking hard because increased scrutiny more or less delays my ability to actually get funding where it is needed.

I would appreciate that people that comment on this sensitive issues could be more prepared, knowledgeable, and stop making resentful comments that don't really reflect the social snd economic realities of the majority of the people who don't do drugs or alcohol.sorry ,but its ignorance to generalize and to stigmatize human beings!
