@@realsinisterminister Nikki couldn't even play bass in the early days! He auditioned for Quiet Riot & didn't even know how to play an "F" note. He tried out for Blackie Lawless's early bands such as "Sister" with the same results. He lasted in "London" for a short time only because they were inexperienced & badly needed a bass player. When he plays live with Motley Crue these days, sometimes he isn't seen even playing his bass yet you hear the bass backing tracks blaring through the PA speaker! A bullshit artist? My old roommate “Barry” was the runner / studio assistant for Scott Humphreys who produced Generation Swine and a few other records. Anytime Barry messed up the Crue would tally it up and each mistake equaled another In & Out patty and at the end of the week he would have to eat a 10 x 10 burger in reprimand sitting in the tub. It was a movie, so it’s glamorized, and some of the details with like Greg Leon, the true first guitar player for what eventually would be motley Crue. But I was there, that’s pretty much how it was. I don’t know if I could sit through this interview, I don’t know what he said that people are pissed about in the comments. But other than that, what parts really stuck out to you as fiction? I actually know their first drummer, Bill Snyder too, the one with the first drum set to go perpendicular. Bill liked Tommy, who was maybe five years younger than them. He just quit the band at some point also. They were all still pretty unknown at the time. Greg Leon was in Dolken before George Lynch also. I’ve heard recently (that the first guitar player they showed in dirt), would’ve really been Greg Leon. Who was a great guitar player and singer. So Mick certainly didn’t come in and blow him away, ha ha. I’m not sure who the guy in the movie was depicting. Maybe there was a different guy after Greg that was kind of that doofus in the movie. But I believe Greg just quit the band before Mick joined. Not exactly sure of the timeline, I could check. Just thought I would chime in. 😝🎸🤘🏻

I think Corabi nailed it - anyone in the midst of a debilitating heroin addiction, fighting off dope sickness every fucking day with every second and every penny, is not likely to have the wherewithal to write this experience down in a fucking diary. Most addicts don't have the resources to spring for the pen and paper. If Nikki had spent any time talking to people at the methadone clinic he claims to have attended, he would know as much. Almost every addict has the same tragic tale of wrecked lives and dreams. Sure, Nikki Sixx dabbled for a couple of years and ODd in his mansion after selling millions of records, but by and large, his heroin days were manaufactured. Everything about Motley Crue was manufactured and planned out. Ask anyone who knew them in the early days. The dude has NO IDEA what heroin addiction is really like for most people. Adults are responsibile for making their own decisions, but imagine how many kids were influenced to use heroin because their hero and rock star inextraordinaire, Nikki Sixx, glamorized it? The dude published a book and crafted a band around exploiting it. Between heroin and Tommy Lee's home porn, they have managed to sustain a career post-Dr. Feelgood, which was the their last commercially successful studio album with hits. That was what - 1989?? Nikki Sixx should donate every fucking dime he has to helping heroin addicts through recovery. He's a grifter who has contributed to the death and destruction of many lives.

I think you nailed it. I'm 57 and grew up on British metal. The LA based "hair bands" of the 80's were more about image than talent. Sure, some had some great songs, but you wonder how much of that was production and how much was talent. It took Axl Rose firing the whole band and hiring a bunch of studio pros to play like he wanted the songs to sound. I also think rock is a young man's game. These old farts standing in front of a teleprompter in their Depends singing songs from the1970's, come on!

This Crue album that came out in 94 is still my favorite by far! I was a huge fan of Corabi when he was with The Scream so you can imagine my excitement when I heard he was going to be with Nikki, Mick, and Tommy. A lot of people did not like this album but I freaking loved it! Honestly, I love anything that Corabi does. Honestly, Generation Swine is probably the worst Crue album EVER. There, I said it. lol

I met John Corabi a few years ago at a bar in Moline, IL. I asked him to autograph the Motley album, which he did. I told him thank you & proceeded to walk away. He told me not to go. We talked about 10 minutes or so. He was so cool & down to Earth. We just talked about music & bands. I actually walked away teary eyed because I got to meet one of my idols & have a small conversation with him. Definitely a classy dude. BTW, the name of the bar is called Rascals... quick plug 🤘🤘

John is the best. He came to Philly with Ratt I knew of him from a band called Fragile when he played in a club called The Empire here in Philly! When he came here with Ratt I was there as the bus pulled up. They were the first bus to arrive with I think 4 bands on the bill. I was actually there to catch up with Phil Lewis of LA Guns. John was the first guy off the bus he acknowledged everyone there, think there were about a dozen people there. He said I'll be back but heard that many times from these guys but sure enough he came back. He hung out with everyone. There was a guy there that knew John pretty well from his club days but he was kinda out there because of years of abusing so John talked but you could tell he made John uncomfortable. So he talks to everybody and other buses begin to arrive. So now it's just me and him and we're watching everybody and he's kinda smirking at the way everyone's making big deal. Of course we start talking Crue I never asked for a Autograph we just talked. I said to him listen my buddy is big fan if I gave him a call would you get on with him. Without hesitation yeah bro let's do it so I dial him up. I say yo, I'm with somebody you really want to talk to he yeah who's that. I say hold on, I put John and me and John start laughing and my buddy thinks he's being pranked. John gets off the phone and I get on the he's like are you fucking with me I said no I came down to try and catch up wit Phil! I get off the me and laugh and I thank him he say come on that was no problem. So were talking and he asks me what brought me down there so early. So I came down to catch up with Phil or Tracii of LA Guns. My son is 11 months old and loves their new album. I know it's an over 21 show so I was hoping they'd hook me up with passes so he can hear them live! He says to me and I could not believe it. He said dude all my passes are accounted for by Family. I said bro no problem I appreciate but I know your from the area. My neighbor was in a band called Fragile and told me he knew you when you played the Empire he says gtfo, what's his Name I said Don. He says oh yeah I remember him but we weren't like tight or anything. He asked how he was and stuff. So now it's coming up on noon he says listen I have to go meet my dad for lunch. You sticking around? Now I just finished my shift driving a tow truck overnight and I had tickets for the show and I was there since about 6am. I actually passed by the venue many times during down time. Anyway I wait he comes back he come right over to me. He says look my dad is going to come but stop will call when the doors open I'm going to see what I can do! I did catch up with Tracii Guns, I'll just say in those days Tracii wasn't very appreciative of the fans! I had met Phil many times and I knew if I could catch up with Phil it would had been a different! Anyway I tell look thanks for everything and especially your time I have to go take a nap I worked all night. He said dude go get some rest and don't forget go to will call he actuall took my name down. I said I will. So I go home take a nap my wife decides you maybe I'm going to stay home. She believed everything that happened because s few months earlier Motley were doing the Motley vs. Earth tour and they did their first press conference here and I told her and my buddy and my wife's best friend we're going to meet them. They didn't believe me at the time but as soon as they finished the press conference we followed them they got tied up at their van with fans so I loaded everyone in the truck waited for them to pull out and literally chased them on the highway and as soon as they got on I knew where they were going. Luckily they flew into a small airport so I actually drove right onto the tarmac. I realized I couldn't stay there so I made my wife ours friends and my 4mo old get out and went and parked. We walked up to the jet their doing a photo shoot with the jet. So they get done and without fail we're the only ones there Vince is not up to it. This was right after his daughter so I understood but he signed everything we asked for and jumped on the plane Mick was great talked actually thanked us! So I turn around my wife and her friend are tslking to Tommy and Nikki and my buddy is video taping and Nikki is holding my 4mo old! Him and Tommy passed him back and forth for about 20mins. In all we probably spent about an hour with them until they pulled off to the run way. Yeah I still have the video! Anyway back to Crab. So my wife ends up staying home and my buddy from the phone call goes with btw he was also the camera guy meeting the Crue. So we go to the Venue and I take him around back and there stands John leaning on the fence. Sees me as I walk down the alley I introduce my buddy and me and John immediately start laughing. They bullshit my buddy is gushing like a little girl. I kinda owed to him the whole time we were at the airport with the Crue he got his stuff signed never really got to talk to Nikki and Tommy. So they get done BSing and turns right to me he says did you go to will call I said no not yet I wanted to him to meet you. He said well go I could get you passes but I left you something. I said can't thank you enough he says gtfo I got sound check see you inside enjoy the show! So I go to will call A strip of tickets I mean 8-10 tickets. So I already have tickets so we walk back around I'm giving these tickets back! We walk around the corner and I look inside a garage door there's Phil. Yo Phil you got a minute. Yo what's up in his English accent. I proceed to rell him I was there all day trying to cathch up with him and why and what John did and I told him I wanted to give the tickets back. He says listen I slept most of the day and because of insurence and stuff the venue probably wouldn't let it happen but you know I woulda did exactly what John did. I said well can you get them back to him he's doing sound check. He says spread them around spread them around. Phil and my wife are pretty tight. We had seen them with Stacy before the did a short stint back with Tracii. Anyway were at that venue I'm BSing with Steve Riley and my wife is talking to Phil. As I walk my wife says to him why don't you come to my house after the. Phil's like you husband is right here she says I don't want to fuck you I just want listen to you talk! From that moment on everytime I or we see them Phil is the best! I haven't seen these guys in good long time we went and met up with Nikki for his book signings the first time with my 8yr old son and my 5yr old son. When we met them at the airport Nikki said have a bunch and me and my wife said na just one and done. When he seen us he immediately knew us he saidone and done huh! I couldn't believe he remembered it was 8yrs and my hair was gone my son was grown. Here's the thing my wife is unforgettable I think. When he came back for The Herion Diary he signed the book to Michelle it was just me and my wife and he didn't have time to talk because the line was huge and he got stuck in traffic so he was signing everything Nikki Sixx hers he signed To Michelle! Sorry about the book but I thought you might like the story of Crab unfortunately it intertwined with all the other stuff!

Yep! Nikki was never strung out on heroin during the girls girls girls tour or any other time. And it pisses me off that he wants to capitalize on a story about fake addiction as if its true. Many people know it's all bs. Adrean Vandenburg said he didnt see any signs of Nikki being on heroin during that tour. And nobody else did either. I saw that tour in 87. Nikki seemed fine. Also there has been many claims from people like Slash that said Nikki was never a full-blown heroin addict. Nikki just wants to feel cool so he says he was hooked. What an idiot! Because anybody that has been a full-blown heroin addict can tell from a mile away that Nikki is full of shit.

What are you talking about?. You may think some of the tales of the band and Nikki's debauchery and addictions we're embellished and maybe (to an extent) they were, though there are plenty of people/bands around during those years that state the band and their excesses we're Exactly how they were told!. Have you never heard of "Jim Carroll, William Burroughs, or functional addicts?".. Heroin/opiate addiction is a Hell I would wish on no one, but there are Plenty of functional addicts that you would never guess in a million years had a habit!.. Unfortunately I know this from experience and while most do fit the stereotype of a junkie, it is definitely Not the case for everyone, so to assume Nikki wasn't a junkie is both unfounded and ignorant!.. Nikki also states in "The Heroin Diaries & The Dirt" that he was only hooked as a regular user for only 1 year and prior to that flirted with pills and then dope and did the "merry-go-round"(no pun intended) for a few years prior to the drug consuming him!.. Heroin affects different people differently and can make "one person nod and give another focus and energy" it depends on many factors, length of use, if other drugs are involved, your genetics, why you're using, etc. Nikki started the same time with dope as Robbin Crosby of RATT and you have two entirely different outcomes..One guy got clean before it completely destroyed and bankrupted him and one sadly did not and followed the more typical outcome of heroin addiction!.. If you read the books/did the research, etc you would know that Nikki drank and did coke far more often and for far longer than he did junk!... Excuse the rant for anyone that may read this, but I hate reading comments on here and hearing opinions based on ignorance and the trolls that don't like the band (or especially Nikki) that come on here and post petty BS about not believing he was an addict/alcoholic, completely not understanding the disease of addiction and bashing the guys importance in the band due to his simplistic and straightforward bass playing, regardless of Nikki being the primary songwriter and lyricist of the band!.. Someone will post a response to my comment about drugs or Nikki's contributions to the band without doing any research, to which I will Not respond!....

I’ve always kind of believed that with Motley, Nikki had created a group of characters, much in the way Gene Simmons did with KISS. Image and controversy are great for generating buzz, and it was a lot easier to believe in the days before the internet and fact checking and all that. All that being said, it was a pretty good read if you take it for what it is.
