Imagine if he ate healthy and worked out. I followed him around the course at a PGA event and the rumor was that he slept in his car after getting home late from the strip club. He looked like hell and still played unbelievably.
I think what I love most about. This is the fact that he takes absolute responsibility and doesn’t blame anybody for the shortcomings for his life. People should learn from this.
It's sugar addiction. People like sugar water. Same reason people eat candy bars instead of vegetables. People drink 3 energy drinks a day, fast food for most meals then wonder why they're 300 lbs with failing organs.
I’m 31 and reading nixons memoir he said, “first a man dies spiritually, then emotionally and finally physically” if you don’t find a purpose larger than yourself you will die spiritually and soon after everything else follows
@@JMAN97712You're not fully correct. Genetics and genes are the same thing btw,and that's true that he has good genes maybe, but that's not the only reason he's alive and well. If the mind is less stressed, the body is less sick. So the commenter is correct.
+JoshLikeCrazy That's bullshit studies done show no correlation between aspartame and cancer. Furthermore the amount of aspartame in a diet soda is very minimal compared that to the amount of sugar in regular soda. BTW Sugar is shown to cause all sorts of diseases and aggravate cancer. Do a bit of research before you comment some utter bullshit.
@@satanas6740 Helping the community, spending time with your family, following your passions, forget it. I have to correct this slight oversight in this RU-vid comment.
And he won the British open. If I was British I'd be pissed that America beats Britain at everything, and we're all pretty much as dumb as the next guy. They used to own us like 200 years ago too. There are buildings older than that. Britain get gud.
i cant stand water but a lot of times ill still force myself to dink it. ive always just loved juice and milk and stuff as a kid, to me water has always tasted weird. I remember being like six and id be super depressed if i went over to a friend's house and all they had was like water or orange juice (hate orange juice). It feels like work when forcing myself to drink it, i just chug as much as i can usually lol
I agree, when I got sick lost a third of my body weight and was no longer “obese” I spent the next year feeling sick with no strength even when I was no longer actually sick and I was constantly out of breath. I would almost pass out when I bent over to pick something up. Put 30 lbs back the following year and felt unstoppable. My body couldn’t handle the reduced blood pressure
He should have two guys. One guy who follows him around, carrying a golf bag, and another guy who drives around after him in a little mini ice-cream truck.
Say what you want about his diet, but we all die eventually. He's lived his life guzzling sugar, booze, candy, junk food, and making a shit ton of money at the same time doing a job he probably loves. Granted he may ultimately live a shorter life than some, but I bet he's enjoyed every second of it.
Yup. In hindsight Id swap having a mostly boring and miserable life and living to 85 for having a fun happy life but dying at 70. I made the wrong choices in life working hard, dieting, quitting drugs and smoking etc.
Problem is, this type of lifestyle will take you down significantly quicker than a semi healthy one. Not saying you have to be a health nut, but drinking mostly water and not eating sweets everyday will improve your quality of life significantly.
@@tylerh1648 I guess it's a choice - how much of your life expectancy and health are you willing to gamble for a good time? Or would you rather be healthy and increase your chance at living longer in exchange for pleasure?
@@someonesomeone25 It isnt just life expectancy. The quality of your life during the whole thing would be better. At least for me. When I eat like crap for a couple days, I feel like shit and my mind feels foggy.
Well, i asked my dad why he smokes 3 packs a day and gets wasted on beer literaly every 2 days. He told me ¨Son,im selfish, i dont want to live long enough to see you die, or my parents die.¨ Reality is, at 50-60 you should throw caution to the wind, cancer will take several decades of abuse to appear and gradually but slowly kill you, and by the time you get it, you will already be just another old geezer at the waiting room, spending all its time waiting for the end.
Finally someone who's honest "Do you wanna quit?" "No ....". I've never understood the logic of living the most healthy life possible when you're going to die no matter what and by living longer you're just extending the worst years of your life. Fun fact, well at least a statistic I've read, health nuts and athletes that exercise constantly die considerably younger than people like John. Also he's not wrong about some people are just bigger. "Big boned" is just an old fashioned way of saying that you have a different body composition. Last time I got down to my suggested weight everyone said I looked sick.
You're talking complete nonsense. There is vast amounts of data that shows living healthier, which includes regular exercise and a good diet, improves lifespan and quality of life over those who don't. The amount of mental gymnastics you're playing in your comment is actually beyond comprehension and goes against all of what we know in modern healthcare and science.
"researchers identified five low-risk lifestyle factors: healthy diet, regular exercise (at least 30 minutes daily of moderate to vigorous activity), healthy weight (as defined by a body mass index of 18.5-24.9), no smoking, and moderate alcohol intake (up to 1 drink daily for women, and up to 2 daily for men). Compared with those who did not incorporate any of these lifestyle factors, those with all five factors lived up to 14 years longer"--Harvard
Seems like a cope almost with the weight thing. I’ve been fat before and felt like shit, there is nothing healthy about being fat. Some peoples genetics save them but if you have bad genetics+ are fat you are fucked
Not the most outlandish observation. I do believe some families blood lines possess longevity. But just because it’s there doesn’t mean you’ll live to 90. You just have a better chance than the average.
I think another part of it is stress as well. People who eat whatever they want don't have to ever stress over what their eating, maintaining their diet, etc... Bring stressed out and not doing what you enjoy is as unhealthy as candy and soda.
Whenever the smoking questions come up in a new group, I always have the same response - “I used to, and I loved every minute of it.” People then always seem shocked. They say things like “what do you mean you loved it?!” Why else would I do it?!
The Man! I saw him crush the ball on 18 in the 89th PGA Championship, Sunday August 20, 2007. Over the complete row of trees and on the green at Southern Hills Tulsa. Never forget it.
You just gotta love how honest the guy is and just how straightforward about his lifestyle he is. No shortcomings, no excuses he just is who he is. The eating habits are terrible but hey he’s happy and still playing his best so I guess who cares it’s his life. Lol
A true hero and testament to all the people out there who can eat whatever they want. I found out as long as you sprint, you can eat anything you want. I could live off little Debbies and Code Red Montain Dew if I wanted to. I'm 44 but have 0% body fat. Running allows you to live how u want. I pray a lot too.
Oh ok well THAT Jay Cutler did actually win championships...he won Olympia 4 times. The QB Jay Cutler couldn't even win a pie-eating contest when he was in the league
I have drunk 10 Mountain Dew's a day for the past 10 years All it does is reprogram your body to burn sugar instead of fat and it makes you have a incredibly fast metabolism and you stay skinny
Reminds me of one old timer I knew that smoked and chewed tobacco since he was 14, ate sausage and bacon who loved mopping up the grease with biscuits. Worked hard his entire life on a family farm and lived until he was 94. Just not a fan of potentially growing old and spending my last years in a nursing home under the care of millennials.
I know nothing of golf and never want to, but I find myself being impressed by this man. He is so honest and candid. Not a shred of ego. He just tells it like it is. lol He must have unbelievable genetics! To never drink water and only drink so much diet coke, eat mostly junk food/candy and smoke two packs a day!! Wow!! I'd be long dead or in the hospital by now.
lilb997 he has been smoking for 29 years most get lung cancer or other cancers afther a period of 35 to 40 years some never because they usualy die between 50 to 60 years old, we can't know when it hits so better stay away from it and carefully of second hand smoke
In the pantheon of the most charismatic golfers. I saw him in a tournament once. His drive was like looking at The Six Million Dollar Man's drive. So high and long.
