Brilliant video, whilst i mainly drove older tractors it was fords and masseys. I really enjoyed this, never actually had a good look in an older John Deere cab.
Great video Gerry. Brings back fond memories. The first 4WD John Deere we had was a 2850, it was a brilliant tractor with tons of guts for a 4 cylinder. Ours was a 1991 model & instead of the normal analogue clock had a small green LCD display for the speed, rev counter, pto speed etc. The only reason we had to change it was because Kvernland 3F reversible was too much for the back end. Yours is in brilliant knick mate. All the best. Robert
Oh happy days...…. from the 2850 t0 the 3050 to the 3650 to the 4240s the 4440 and once in a 4350.....and that wee orange light on at night like the one that lights up my truck cab to this day.!!! Great and fond memories of long yet happy happy days and nights at grass or slurry !!! She is looking dapper Gerry so she is and yes lad you are in the long list for a Hi Step 40k 3650 just like me!!!!! Mighty stuff bud!
bonito y restaurado cacharro, aún hoy valorados enormemente de 2ª mano, además eses con varias opciones "extra" incluidas y cabina comfort.... un gran producto, y sin la electronica pijotera de hoy
The one we had, had the front opening sunroof fantastic on a warm day and gave you a lovely sound from the exhaust 👌🏼 also think ours had the digital speed display! Miss it such great machines! Got £14k for it
Great wee tractor Gerry...note that if she was a 40 series the power synchron is not on the little lever but is engaged by nudging the 1,2,3,4 gear lever to the right for high and left towards you for low.
I drove a 2040s in my teens. The power synchron was a pain in the neck as we had the great stick break a few times. The fifty series is a better idea, I presume John Deere had a lot of complaints with the forty series. Personally ford has the best system with the dual power.
@@roberthiggins6401 Yea, but theres plenty of fords that have had the dual power wired up to a switch on the gearstick if you look around auctions. But yes, the pedal on the floor was as good as any
She is a buet Gerry you have it well kept .thanks for posting the videos always enjoy watching them.and you give a shout out to my two sons daragh and cillian from lucan co Dublin.they will be delighted.thanks
@@gerry6420 Sorry I didn't explain my question properly. What I meant was can you move the whole steering wheel and column backward or forward to adjust the angle? Thank you for your reply.
Sorry for this but does anybody know why on a John Deere 3040 ,she jumps out of first gear but you can hold it in and it's fine also any reason why she is only breaking on one wheel and not holding when you hold the peddle? Thanks in advance
most parts were on. I’ve this tract since was only few years old and have looked after it well. but I was looking any parts I’d get them from my John Deere dealer or try nick young tractor parts
Hola amigo un saludo 👋 desde Perú, acabo de comprar el mismo tractor de segundo uso y no se cómo se activa y se usa la palanca que está debajo del acelerador manual, y como se llama ? Le agradezco de antemano 👍
Take off the 2 black side panels just below the bonnet on front...... then in behind them there’s 2 rubber straps which you unhook and the bonnet lifts up. If you have an exhaust and a air intake then you were better take them off before lifting the bonnet
Jason Gallagher must be differnt set up then mine. Is there a buttons on the front surround above the lights? Maybe someone modified how it opens put bolts on it
Looking back they were no more reliable than what we have now back then you had more mechanical problems than we have now engineering has improved now we need software to repair them back then at 8000 hours you had put a lot of wear on them
