Next to the models A B and R the 730 diesel is my favorite from John Deere question about the combine is this multi use? Can you do corn with it or just beans?
You could harvest corn with it. The corn head is a model 205 which also fits on the 40 self propelled model. I had 2 of the 205’s to try to make one good one but gave up on the idea and sold them. My New Idea picker sheller is a better option for me.
I believe 45. I have run mine with an IH 450, JD 730, 630 and 1520. John Deere promotional material shows it matched with a 3010 or a 3020. Make sure whatever tractor you use has a low ground speed.
Most of the loss is at the head. It was extremely dry this year at harvest so pods were extra dry. Still averaged close to 70bu which was about the limit of the 42. Ran the tractor in first gear.
I believe it is an aftermarket cap made for Olivers that has a gauge in it. I found this one at a tractor show - it was in bad shape but I repaired it and now it’s fairly accurate. No markings as to who made it.
