The linkage is $660 now, bought one last year. I just about caused a scene when the parts guy told me, even he was like “how the f*** is it that much”

Thanks Zeth, my day is now complete (Other than sleep) with my recharge of the master at work! Was interesting to see the older technology and really shows how we have completely complicated things with all the environmental management systems (not to mention the extra cost too!) Thanks as always from Scotland.

Nice job. It's interesting watching you train Josh. Your advice and counsel to him is just as valuable to those of us who are interested but don't work on farm equipment. We're learning right along with Josh.

Thanks for another great video ZK. It was interesting and enjoyable of course. Well, another great video with educational items on two areas I have never been into before. Most interesting. The turbo item was interesting seeing how loose that shaft was. Can fully understand why the turbo device did not operate correctly the way it was. That old shaft was binding up the whole operation. Not bad at all to replace once you had access. Will always remember that noise on the new one when you operated it. Neat. Put back together again and clear the codes and calibrate. The moisture device in the tank was a learning experience. If you want me to say oh ya I know what you are talking about I would be not telling the truth. Never dealt with that before. Once again, not extremely bad to replace if and I repeat if you know what you are dealing with. Now I know and not all that bad. Another good fix and fix the codes and calibrated and ready to go. Neat. Josh is doing great with you ZK. Good man you are teaching. Hard to find now days it seems. My compliments to you both for your great work and fixing the problems. Combine is off and running again. You both take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything ZK. Once again, you are an exceptional teacher and teach us with easy to understand narratives. Appreciate that. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

After watching (and enjoying very much) many of your videos I sense the smart farmer will not "waste" his time trying to find "hot software" to do his own repairs, he will spend his time becoming a more efficient farmer (creating more farm profit) incorporating John Deere repair costs in his farm expenditures. Maybe this is your major intent in that your efforts are designed to convince those farmers on the fence to let an authorized dealer do the proper repair work. Well done fella!

A smart farmer will buy as less equipment as possible, and rent or lease whatever is needed. But every farm is different, so every farmers best solution (ie: most cost efficient solution) is different. The average farmer also is a very smart businessman and will work it out. And Zeth is great!

@@milofarmer1 Proprietary software is the main argument within the Ag world. Farmers claim they should have access to "primary" codes, etc. Yet, do they ever consider the research and development costs prior to production? How about marketing, manufacturing realities as regards how many parts to produce, inventory, then ship out---costs that must be absorbed prior to turning over the inventory. Farmers are gamblers of the first order, if they stay focused on creating the most efficient system for producing crops, your simple remove and replace attitude only works to your advantage if you have those primary codes and the attending info to diagnosis the part/system in trouble. Take a moment to consider that $30 pair of clippers our ZK Teck uses to snip plastic zip ties...plus his use of that tool--knowledge you may not possess till you visit the doc for stitches. Put a price on that!

Them VG turbo’s not been great. We had 5 tractors needed doing last few years. 155R 2600 hrs needs one already 😬 it’s the actuator or linkage every time. Found it’s not much more £££ too replace the lot turbo included. good old 6620 12000hrs still going strong on its turbo! Before the VG turbo was introduced. Great video, keep up the good work. And remember flush cut 😀

The relays are changeable on the moisture tester. Cleaning and relubricating the plunger screw saves the motor as well. Nice camera work.

Drained coolant like that on a S680 today so we could do a pip on head bolts and boy I took a coolant shower today lol. Had the old bolt in there to drain it instead of the fitting to hold a hose so that was fun lmao. Definitely installing that fitting when we button everything up!

Hey bud love watching all your videos. Question I have is why did you choose Milwaukee tools over Dewalt? I ask cause going to have to get some tools before long for my work but just wanting your opinion. Thanks for all opinions and advice.
@ZKMasterTech
@ZKMasterTech 2 года назад
They just work very well for me, they are easy to warranty through Milwaukee's website, Have really good warranty, and I like having a larger selection of tools to choose from with the m18 and m12 lineup. Milwaukee just makes way more stuff that is geared more for mechanics and industrial applications.

How many hours on the engine to wear out the turbo actuator?
@ericluitjens4256
@ericluitjens4256 2 года назад
Combines are more prone to actuator failure because when they sit the vanes get bound up. I've found alot of times if it sets an actuator code when you start it after sitting I just move the linkage manually back and forth a couple of times to free it up and it works again. This one is obviously wore out. Probably pushing 4000 engine hours

Stuff you can fix without all the electronics, the best. No govt interference into nature (DEF) even better.
