This was my first time seeing cotton being picked since filming a CaseIH 2022 in Alabama in November 2014. I stopped and drove down the turn row near Stilesboro, GA where a family was working hard to get the cotton picked and the stalks cut in short order. I haven't seen either one of these models working in a cotton field since 2004, which was the last time I lived in the Mississippi Delta during picking season. It's hard to believe both pickers are between 20-27 years old. The gentleman driving the 9965 stopped and talked to me for a minute. He remembered picking with a JD 299 many years ago, just as was the case with my own Grandfather. It is getting hard to find 4 row pickers still working in the fields, so this sight really made my day. Maybe I can catch them again next year. You can see Plant Bowen (a large coal fired power plant) in the background a few times, along with a nice looking John Deere 4440 tractor.
