That 640 on the wide tracks, set wide like that, just looks rugged and ready. I've never understood why JD ( series tractors have such a massive power rating drop from engine to PTO compared with most of their competitors. This farmer was very articulate and great to listen to.
It's due to the transmission layout. Many competitors use the transmission input shaft as the PTO live shaft. The 8r series for example have the engine far up, so they use a seperate live shaft for the PTO. The payoff is that you can use a countershaft type powershift transmission, which is generally more efficient at delivering drawbar HP than a planetary type powershift.
You are in luck. I filmed him planting corn this spring with a 9RX 540 and DB90 in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YJSYvKWWvJQ.htmlsi=l0EhUsZBi9BvCWh9
Jason excellent video! Love the input from the farmers! This equipment is very expensive and to have a farmer happy with what the equipment does for them that's a pay off for me!!! Mind you been around farming my whole life and it is not cheap and people today have no idea!!!!
Thanks for the video janson, and the driver is very freandry, he is like another driver you featured , whos name is biily. its a very good tractor, at almost $1m, its a very worthy investment if the farm is big enough.
Tillage videos are about my favorite. It's great Jason when you can ride with farmer and get his perspective. Really adds to the video. Appreciate your time.
If it’s only 20 feet wide he’s probably only getting 15 acres an hour. The average probably wasn’t reset to start. (Speed*width*efficiency)/8.22=acres per hour (6.5*20*.95)/8.22= 15.02
They are not used for the soybean tillage but are useful in corn stalk tillage. As I explain at the 7 minute mark in this video raising them when not needed saves on wear and tear.
Jason do you think we'll see Garnett's or TOF or anyone else in your area go for the new bigger 9RX models just introduced, speaking of the 710, 770, and the 830?
@@bigtractorpower Yup, after seeing your previous video on that particular tractor at work that machine is also a beast, the fact that we have now made it to and even surpassed 700 engine horsepower literally blows my mind!
Good question. I answer that question at the 7 minute mark in the video when I go over the disk blade specs of the 2132. The answer is they are best for corn stalks and soybeans have less residue so they lift them to reduce wear and tear.
We run an 1150 versatile tractor, and pull a Krause 24' chisel plow, and then we have a 30' international disk, a 44' Calkins cultivator and we run 36' international seeder, and it folds hydraulically to 12' for transport. That's our tillage/seeding equipment
I sure do. I would recommend Outback Farm Toys. The have the Prestige 9RX 640 at www.outbacktoystore.com/1-64-John-Deere-9RX-640-Tractor-ERTL-Prestige-Collection
It all depends on soil conditions. This is working in red clay with lime stones mixed in. The biggest coulter chisel is 33ft but it would not pull through this soil at 12 inches deep. The 33ft does not come with auto reset so the lime stone would break allot of shear bolts.
Yes it is raised up. I talk about why they raise it at the seven minute mark of this video. The disc are helpful in corn stock tillage but in soybeans they’re so little residue. The discs are not needed so they raise them to reduce wear and tear on the Implement.
My veins pump the rich red blood of dirt farmer. In the end a great majority of us are descendants of agriculture in some way. I don't know how to express my dismay and horror upon hearing the million dollar pricetag.
