I had a 21 year old Craftsman Briggs auto choke that was not running right at all...key sheared. Nope...spark was erratic...new coil...nope...changed the CLEANED carb...to a brand new one...ran like a champ...customer was happy
I thought the same as Larry. My first thought was a bent crank. Could you test that by moving the blade around and watching its travel? Great repair as much as can be done. Thanks for the video.
lawnmower shaken after being on the rocks. That’s not the worse I have seen . I have seen the whole cam inside the engine get moved off timing . Only fixed for that is a new cam for it.
I keep seeing adds about a bent shaft. There are treatments for it. Try removing the blade and use a large pipe to adjust it. Shouldn’t need much more than 1/8 inch.
Most shops refuse to do this procedure any more because the crank can crack easily, causing a failed crank and a blade to fly out from under the mower.
Heck ya I understand why you have these knock outs you repair for a living witch makes sense but for the average person that might do this once or twice you just work with what the good lord gave ya lol
With Honda mowers, the sheer key never works, destroying the engine with a bent crank shaft. B@S and Tecumseh engines always sheer the key. I think Honda makes too hard of a key. I had a lady bend the crank on a brand new Honda, not much I could do for it. The lower oil seal was already seeping too.
