happy to help! I've had issues recently with another mower that may be applicable also. The fuse near the solenoid was actually crispy from too much current and a weak connection where it plugs in. check that also.
My LA105 won’t start, just clicks. Jumped it and it started right up. So, I figure the battery is bad. Put new battery in it. Same thing. Won’t start on it’s own, but I can jump it. Figured damn, did I get a bad battery. Had it checked, battery is good, charge is good. Bad solenoid? If solenoid is bad, how will it start off a jump but not on it’s own? Same with bad starter? How is jumping it making a difference. Thought maybe wires corroding, bad connections somewhere? Starting to get confusing as hell.
Sounds like it could be a bad battery cable. It could be either the positive or the negative cable equally. Try taking a jumper cable and going from the negative post to the frame or engine block and see if that changes anything. If it does, you've found a bad cable. You can run a jumper from the battery to the solenoid, and from the solenoid to the starter also.
