John Deere X540 Starter Replacement 

This video worked great for the change on my x585! My starter needed little "gentle persuasion" to loosen from the bracket once the bolts were out.

This was such a helpful, timely video. I had purchased a used X540 a few years back which was difficult to start. After 5-6 seconds it would likely start but it kept getting worse. It wasn't until you posted this video I felt confident enough to order a new starter and replace it. It was a frustrating experience, but I'm delighted as the tractor now starts perfectly! Thank you!

Thanks for posting that. i was a little intimidated w/ the replacement process before your video. JD now wants $ 765.00 for that starter, ebay $ 65.00, w/ free shipping. Guess where i bought the starter.. thanks again
