I grew up listening to John. His voice is the most soothing thing in the world. We were all so blessed to have him as long as we did. And he is missed so much!

I can hear the tears & sadness in his voice as he sings this song. And I am crying right along with him. Thanks, JD for sharing your life with us. We all miss you so much!
The late really great John Denver. Was blessed to see him perform in the now gone New Haven Colosseum in Connecticut. He was, is and always will be amazing. His songs and his voice still touch me right in the heart. Thankyou God for sending this amazing man for all of us to enjoy so sad he was taken to heaven too soon.

Damn he was a great piano player for someone who couldn't play piano. What a talent this man was. The world would be a better place if he were still alive.
My love of the outdoors, soft moving music, love of nature and the mountains, love of my wife of almost 49 years is because of John and his music. Glad I was able to see him in concert several times. I always listen to his music when on road trips in the car or Harley. I always shed a tear of the bygone days when listening to him. Yes we lost him too soon but he will be with us in his moving and peaceful music. Far out John. God bless.

I have been listening to John's music lately and I can't stop listening. His music is mesmerizing. This song happens to be one of my favorites and sadly I can relate to it. His songs are always from the heart and I don't think I can think of any other singer who writes or sings as lovely as John did. What a pure voice from a beautiful man.
Theres no other singer in the word that made me laugh cry smile become very still. He Wasa blessing for me as i grew up .all the camping i did with family ,always had songs of Joh Dennver.8 track tapes cassette , cds dvds . They were great times with the country boy. Thank you John

Wish I was able to see him perform live, always appreciated his music but dug in deeper in the '90's after The Wildlife Concert was released bought the double CD set at my local Costco. Not only a great singer/songwriter but an environmentalist who deeply appreciated the majesty of nature, enjoyed the outdoors, skiing as well as flying. A tremendous talent who unfortunately left us too soon. Though his music will live eternally.
He sounded the same in concert as he did on his records. He sang thru the whole concert, he would send his band off for a short rest. He was/is so amazing. I was blessed to see him in concert 5 times. Boy do I miss him. I wonder what he would say & do about the situation in our world today. We/I miss you soooo much John. I also think of his sweet children, how they miss him, I’m sure. Love you John.
Started listening in the mid 70's and I haven't stopped. Own some vinyls from his stint with the Mitchell Trio, before he became John "Denver". BUT best of all I've been living in the mountains of Colorado for the last 26 years all because of this brilliant man. Bless you John!
John Denver still if you're in a store his songs come on people are singing. His music made you feel good, told stories of America's families and lovers. Thank you John 🙏❤
This entire concert is available on YT. Just JD and his guitar (and piano). An amazing show by an amazing performer and human being. The version of The Eagle and the Hawk, with John on his 12 string rivals any I’ve heard.
I was at university in 1982 when this was broadcast in the UK, and I didn't have access to a video recorder, but I recorded the soundtrack from my little telly. Something to be treasured. The perfect mixture of John Denver in all his moods. "Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream" and "This Old Guitar" stand out, as did the wonderful "The Ambulance Down in the Valley" poem.

This is a very affecting song and performance. You can tell he wrote this from personal experience, he's putting into words the sadness that many feel when a relationship ends.
How nice to see a new upload from this channel. There's so much great live footage of John out there, so many TV appearances, let's see some more! I saw John live many times in the late 70s and into the 80s. My parents and I loved him so much. I still do. When I listen to the old songs, it's like they're alive again, and he is too. I miss them all.

Though I am not really into folk, I always liked John Denver. Not just the music but the themes. I will tell you a surreal story. In the early 80's I was on BART (the subway in the San Francisco Bay Area). I was transcending a segment in Berkeley, California. In pops John Denver from a station stop with a guitar. He smiling, said hello, and played a song to the next stop, then hopped off after getting applause. No sidemen or anybody with him. The song was about the length of "Eagle and the Hawk", but it wasn't that song. It was a surreal moment! Several years later in the late 80's I had a chance to see him at the Albert Hall in London but missed him. Along with missing The Beatles, Prince and several other performers/bands, it was quite regrettable.

He was a greatest Composer Composing Lyrics of the songs Music Right!!! HE also Well Talented Could play both Guitar and Piano. Looked his voice and the songs he sang wonderful isn it. Really Impressed.
He also played the violin. I never knew he played any instrument besides the guitar until I started watching lots of RU-vid videos of his music. God blessed him with so many musical talents. We truly &will forever miss you, JD! 💔
What a beautiful song ~ beautiful message ~ which is really needed in today's experience. And....hmmm.....First share in over 2 years. Does this mean what I think it does??
I guess he and annie fell away. I loved his music and a few of his song kinda hit home. But he liked to fly and sore with the Eagles but he liked to drink i guess instead of driving drunk he flew off the coast of california Monterey bay and never came home. But Drinking did tak its toll and we suffer the results. Like Darrcy farrow far off from the lights of YERINGTON TOWN
