John Denver - Take Me Home, Country Roads - FIRST REACTION 

No song was more of a personal anthem for so many of us who served overseas and played or sang this song when we were on our way home.

He had a voice like a bell. He died flying an experimental plane and when it was going to crash he directed it into the ocean away from houses. His lyrics were relatable to everyone. He reached notes with ease. "Calypso" is one example. A terrific singer, songwriter and environmental activist.

When the music begins my heart swells and then,..the tears come. Every damn time.

Gotta watch the 80,000 or so Germans in the NFL Munich game, singing this gem of a song perfectly without prompts or etc. They knew it all by memory and even kept on singing as the music stopped and the gam resumed at half time. It will give you chills! Like'd and subbed, warm blessing from the South Bronx in NYC!

Being from WV this song is so much more than just a song. It is my heart and soul. Can not tell you the times I have been on the road away from home late at night and this song comes on and I have to pull over due to the tears filling my eyes.

John Denver is my most favorite artist! I listened to this concert on CD every day in high school! John had such a gift for writing and a voice to match it! Another song you should try is "Annie's Song" and he is also known for "Rocky Mountain High!" My 2 favorite songs are "Poems, Prayers, and Promises" (find the clip from this concert) and "Shanghai Breezes" from this concert also! Hope you do a deep dive into John Denver! You won't be disappointed and I can help you with some songs to listen to!

There's a video of Sawyer Fredericks from The Voice with a six songs and his voice is mind blowing for a 15 year old at the time. I heard him audition and told my son they just need to give him 1st place and start over. He won that season.

John Denver is a fantastic singer and song writer. He had loads of great songs and sounded just as good (if not better) on the live versions versus the studio versions. He is more a folk singer than country. He was also an environmentalist before most people knew what one was. He died far too young and the world is a lesser place because of his death.

Besides having a wonderful voice,, John was a superb songwrite and composer.He was also a wonderful caring person. His songs are all about caring for the world and the peoples and aanimals who live on it. Check out his songs catalog. It is varied and there are no bad songs. Unforutnately ,Johon did in aplance crash at age 53.

You've got to react to Arthur Gunn singing this on American Idol. It's amazing. I like it better than John Denver. Also if you haven't reacted to the AGT audition by Jimmie Herrod you are missing something special.
