No other DJ is even remotely close to how good this man is. He sets the benchmark very high. My biggest inspiration in the whole of the music scene. I look up to him more than any other DJ.
You've mirrored my thoughts there. Been a huge fan since 94 and seen him all over the uk and in America. As a DJ a lot of the way I do things is down to Digweed. Was lucky enough to meet him and chat for a long time one evening and it's something I'll never forget, absolute gentleman behind the scenes.
Digweed is the god father of progressive fact but there others just as insanely talented as him......Hernan cattaneo , guy j , and someone who I think is incredible and even better is pole folder.....he was on bedrock at the very start and produced the very 1st album that ever got released on bedrock......a master of his craft
A true pro. He never looks back or forward, never does the look at me dances, his ego is so contained, he is so focused. Shows how good you can be when cut out the ego. God knows how he stays so focused for so long. I love it and I thank the day I was introduced to him. I was told "This is real house."
That's a fucking mystery....been doing since forever and have been maintaining that level....never have I heard a transition not unlike him from diggers
Digweed is the king! Mixing tracks in a organic way no other DJ understands. All the tracks become one in a mesmerasing way bringing the full experience what producers mean, always in the right BPM's. For me his epical mix is the GU Los Angeles and I have never heard a so balanced mix that became a trip before. King Digweed 4ever!
I have been lucky enough to watch this guy playing live many times, unbelievably tight mixing for sure but his track selection and aura just sets the party up there right away, just like he is channeling some crazy energy and tears up the roof everytime.
John Digweed is one of the forefathers or one of the very few who brought techno along and pretty much created and set the stage for trance out of techno and made this into the trance edm eschaton we are living in today ! In Trance We Trust
My nephew Billy and me are going to the Concorde 2 in Brighton on Saturday for Johns set should be ♦️ I haven’t been clubbing since about 2007?but my nephew persuaded me to come out of retirement to celebrate my 60th birthday!! We were hardcore back in the day lived in Ibiza for 5yrs DC10 Space pascha Amensia also used to go to the Honey club Coalition and Patterns in Brighton. Neither of us do drugs or drink alcohol anymore but we will be grooving all night as is our style. Trying to get my nephews nephew to come he’s 18 so there will be 3 generations of us at it🤩♦️👍🏼
Wow,this has to be the best opening I’ve heard yet!! You know the DJ is doing something right when the entire dance floor is actually dancing and interacting instead of being glued into their cellphones. So great to see this vibe, reminds me of what it used to be like.
That was amazing!!! The tune 10mins before the end just after carl cox hugged him - 👌 👌 👌, and that last tune - drifting gradually away, digaz is STILL doin it. 1 love 🤜 🤛
Decent techy set, not his best. Started out repetitive and emotionless but got better. Bu that crowd, gross. A bunch of zombies dazing at the booth. When we used to party at Twilo and others, we barely stared up front but instead spend all night dancing with groups forming our own circles. Clubbers these days man, they don’t bug out dancing anymore.
I remember seeing Sasha for the first time in Southampton in '93, when the whole club was off their tits and completely in the palm of his hand. Digweed in '97 at the Gardening Club in Covent Garden - dropping Aria - Ascension - and everyone looking around at each other like 'wtf is going on?'. If you know, you know.
Personally not one of favourite set by the master. There were no magic that he can do, kind of soulless. Just banging. Except for the last transition. That is the magic i am talking about.
