Don't ever lose it. I have family and kids now too, but I also still have all my records and Technics set up in our den (my man cave). I play for my kids whenever I can. Part of your soul is still embedded in these tracks and memories. Don't let them die.
Be sure to go to 45:19 and see Sasha point to the guy with the phone to record this crowd which is about to go nuts!! Love Sasha and Billy Hendrix - Body Shine might be the greatest tune I've ever heard! That build. Great video and so much better to have the visual go with the live sets.
Great set, as always....with dead Erick Morillo in the background with his back turned, impatiently waiting his turn, not even paying attention to the music half the time. Try not to die next time.
Great set but the the hanger ons behind DJs just pissis me of there not into the music just there fuckin posing... if that was the 90s they would be all losing it to the music
SLEPT UNDER A BRIDGE 1 NIGHT??? A PACK OF DOGS CAME UP 2 ME AND 1 OF THEM BARKED??? SAYIN ORITE WILKY WOT U UP 2??? N I JUST FORT "PACK O' F-IN DOGS??? THEY CUD 4KIN ATTACK ME IF THEY'RE HUNGARY??? PLAYED IT DOWN 2 EM, THEN I TOOK MI TABLETS N WENT SLEEP!!!
Top remix of Open your mind - wish Sasha always kept that energy level in his sets these days - too many just plod with low bpm's and no spark, like Solomun's style. This is a good set to close out Space though, funkier and more pumping than usual. Space was my fave club in the world, just got back from Ibiza, didn't go to Hi though. It would have just felt wrong!
The DAT was stolen from that show and was released as a 2 cd bootleg called Independence Night. The label claimed it was Orlando, but it's clearly Simon announcing each set.
max thomas what you have too realize is the true sasha lovers ones who went to shellys eclipse hacienda rennasaunce.there hitting 48.49.50. this year.so there morethan likely just having a tot?.or maybe the odd line here or there.but i wrekon sashas poped maybe just half a pill?.otherwise hes mostly swiging from a can off LAGER LAGER LAGER!L.O.L.😉

TOP SET! Go Sasha! Last two years you have been better than previous 10!!! Like in 2001 era... Morillo and Wink came to enjoy his music. (And the one that wants to eat everythink :-) )

Sorry as much as I love Sasha this is hardly an all time great set of anyones yet alone Sashas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is FULL of old classics over 10 years old. But theres no such thing as CLUBS anymore like back in the 90's.... theyre all just nightspots. The crowds these days do nothing but jiggle from side to side. The energy of the pioneering days when people were bouncing off the rooves are long gone. That said Sasha is still the king of the scene..... and he is commited- MIXING THESE DAYS ON CDJS and LAPTOPS IS BORING AS FUCK and HAS NOTHING ON THE OLD VINYL DAYS WHERE HUNTING FOR MUSIC WAS THE MAIN GAME. How Sasha stands behind modern decks and basically does nothing for 5 minutes every mix must be numbingly boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is not just standing there and waiting 5 min till track finishes. Eventhough he leaves one track for 5 min , he is constantly doing someting , adding effects, loops, making sure everything is perfect!!! Not like many other djs. Try listening to one track that he is spinnig unmixed and you'll see how much different (boring) it sounds . Then you'll see how much he does (in those 5 min between the tracks)
maranezzi21 ahh sorry its called effects OVERKILL!!! Like I said there are no CLUBS anymore. Back in the 90's when it was a club scene you would get to know the crowd AND the music... you would for the CROWD and the MUSIC. Now they are nightspots and people rarely go weekly to the same venue, rarely see the same crowd yet alone form friendships with people there and now most nightspot goers would NOT even know the songs they are hearing- yet alone have heard the song 4 times over the last month.... meaning 90% of them would have ZERO idea if he was using effects or not. DJing is about great song selection and choosing great music. And I don't need the likes of Sasha adding a little ping pong effect for a song that is perfect when it was released and I don't need to hear echoes and flangers all night. But like I said- I go to listen to the MUSIC and songs... nothing worse than hearing a song I love destroyed by some boring tosser adding delay and wrecking the original. But once again- most of you wouldn't even know 90% of the songs played so you have no familiarity with the scene.
maranezzi21 PS don't kid yourself buddy- there is NO effort needed in DJing these days. Pioneers beat mix and key mix automatically with no effort needed. Even my mum can beatmix on my Pioneers perfectly... its called a sync button... and is even EASIER on laptops ;)
I have faith this is changing - I had a night at KM5 this summer with Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo playing. The place went f&*king mad. It was like we were back in the 90s. It was unreal - screaming, chanting, clapping the breakdowns. Just like it used to be. I thought I was back at Slinky or Gatecrasher. The energy is returning. Music is getting much better again and the BPM of tracks is edging up which makes a massive difference.
hahahaha but DJing is BORING as fuck and mind numbing these days.... but in the old days when skills, talent and dedication was needed with vinyl and he KNEW he was going to pump out an original set, 8 hour sets were sweet. Now a DJ does NOTHING between mixes (no beatmatching skills needed these days) and everyone downloads the songs the day after they are played and released so no original sets. That's why he produces so much. Standing around for 5 minutes do NOTHING between mixes in modern DJ'ing is boring as all FUCK :)
MrJohndory111 ohh no doubt. I was just stating why DJ's don't do mammoth sets anymore. Its because DJing is all about pretending to do shit these days. Back in the days DJ's rode EVERY groove coz you had to monitor your beat mixing until the mix was complete. And hunting records was most of the game. Only 50 white labels back in the day. Now 200,000 people can have the same tune the next day. LOL- now my mum can even hold a 5 minute mix with syncing :)
