JFK was also a systematic womanizer, and reckless politically. Hoover had a file on Jack Kennedy's sex life as thick as a paving slab. That's why JFK had to take LBJ on the ticket. He was bribed into doing it by Hoover, a good friend of LBJ.
@@susannamarker2582 So the lying media tells you. What happens if that was all bunch of BS? Now we know how much that media lies and hates truth. And JFK Junior and JFK are still alive.
@@lamcadams785 It was not a bunch of bs. JEH had a big file on JFK's sex life, that he gave LBJ to force JFK to take LBJ on the ticket in 1960. JFK had already decided on Symington as his running mate.
I always thought of Kennedy's humor as little asides, to keep everyone from getting swallowed up in seriousness. They weren't jokes, or put-downs, or ridicules. Just friendly good-natured observations, to bring on a smile, maybe a chuckle. They personalized Kennedy, brought him closer to his audience, made him more likable. And I thought Sorensen wrote some of those lines, or suggested them anyway, in Kennedy's lighter addresses.
Yes, and Kennedy usually was at his funniest, "off the cuff" at Press Conferences. Although I think, esp. a woman reporter [can't remember her name], who never missed his Press Conferences was 'set up' to ask him questions that brought out a joke---or gave him the opportunity to show his deeper understanding and seriousness abt. issues that were important to him.
OH very funny calling my people "primitives" "worthless" and blackmailing the Dutch to sign your New York Agreement selling us to our Asian enemy 3500km away in Indonesia.
He was brilliant at diffusing what could have been a contentious exchange, and never attacked anyone personally. Contrary to current practices, when he thought the question was inappropriate for him to answer, he would say so. Today, the press acts like the President is supposed to have something to say about everything that happens on the planet. He stuck to his job, and avoided turning it into a gossip column.

@@RAATlol I am in agreement - JFK ran when I was a teenager and was inspirational. He had an incredible ability - wit and wisdom. An ability to absorb information and get to the depth of the situation and shift his opinion and was not afraid to do so. And explain why! I do not see a bit of that in any president, R or D.
The same people who shot JFK shot RFK. Bobby said to a student audience that if elected, he would reopen the file into his brother's death. That had to send shivers running down spines at the CIA.
Oswald was not the shooter. Malcolm Mac Wallace was the shooter, a Marine Corps rifle Expert. Oswald attained Sharpshooter, that's not the best shot. There was a 34-point match fingerprint in the sniper's nest for Malcolm Mac Wallace. Who is Wallace ? He was LBJ's personal hitman from the 50s. He shot John Kinzer, who was blackmailing Lyndon Johnson.

My Dad was a junior in HS at the time of his assassination. Going thru his photo albums etc after his death in 2008 I found a neatly folded 📰 newspaper front page of President Kennedys assassination/ death. It deeply affected him.
This man truly was the last of being a true classic, charismatic, clean-cut American man and was what it was all about. He could most definitely be considered the greatest after the founding fathers themselves...

I was old enough to vote in 1960 and I voted for JFK. He was the first president to do live tv pressers which I always looked forward to mainly because of his humor. His grin was infectious. Watching this hurts my heart.
1 thing that made JFK so funny was his humble ness- he would make fun of himself and not many people, let alone POLITICIANS are secure enough to laugh at themselves.
PRESIDENT KENNEDY WAS A WONDERFUL MAN & PRESIDENT, HE CARED ABOUT THE WORLD & OUR COUNTRY IT'S A SHAME THAT SOMEONE OR SOMEBODY WANTED THIS MAN DEAD & IT HAPPENED ON NOVEMBER 22ND 1963 MAY HE R.I.P. IN GOD'S LOVING ARMS AMEN.
He had such a quick mind and wit. 60 years later l can’t wrap my mind around his violent passing and that of his brother. It still brings tears to my eyes. Maybe being from Boston l feel it more strongly. I don’t care about his private life that was between he and his wife. He was doing great things for the common man.
Why can’t we have presidents of similar caliber today? As a society we are supposed to progress, not regress through time. Our technology is great, but our character is much poorer. At least when comparing a leader such as JFK to the kind we have today.
Saw JFK when I was 15 - when he was running for president. Also FDR was dead before I was born but he is also my hero. These two men were amazing people - look what we have since then yuck - seems like we are continually going downhill. We kill our best leaders: JFK, RFK, MLK, Malcom X - the 4 people were evolving and growing and were cut down - they would have even gone further (breaks my heart that we kill the best, the brightest and most heroic)
He will always be my president...hes everything that embodys what a president should be...young,handsome,rich,and smart. What a president should look like..not old men who need to retire.....old enough to know..and young enough to to..
JFK had a wonderful sense of humor!! I've watched time & time again, it never gets old!! The equal rights for women question cracks me up!! He had a calming effect while being funny. You are right. People say if JFK was not assassinated he would not have made a second term because of his affairs coming out (which I do not believe were even fully true, they were trying to take him out of office any way they could) Even if that was true, Bobby would have been the next candidate that won and he would have saved us...

He always put America and its people first, his primary interest, their safety, prosperity, and well being, I think America lost its greatest POTUS since Honest Abe Lincoln
I remember this gentleman very very well, he was a really charming man, he looked good he sounded good and by God he did a huge amount of good, not just for America but for the whole world. His wit cut the ice on so many occasions it would be hard to forget, but when he spoke it was in the interest of all, let us never forget that from a situation of near war he took the world to a new high with America and Russia being good friends happy to work with each other. I think he would shed a tear if he could see the petty mud slinging being aimed at the country he tried so hard to get along with and succeeded. America did itself the worst thingbit ciuld ever do by allowing a few to wreck all the work he did, he was without doubt tbe very best president the U.S. EVER had, and in tbe wings there was Bobby who i am sure had the same qualities, so they murdered him too, what a sad , SAD country they will both always be remembered and loved. I only wish we had them both today Gods peace to them both.
Anyone who will entertain the idea of running for office should read profiles in courage and then watch any documentary about Jack that talks about anything other than the assassination
I, also, wish they were both here today. JFK was assassinated on my birthday, November 22nd. I watch press hearings, speeches, different videos - such an intelligent man, Charismatic, full of humor. JFK had a way with words. I watch and listen to many of his speeches over and over. I think that a lot of people still mourn that fateful day. Just watching anything about JFK makes me still go into tears. Very fresh in our minds. When we lost him, WE LOST A LOT. Nothing has been the same since.
It wasn't just America 🇺🇸 it was the whole world that lost. Fondly remembered here in Ireland 🇮🇪 always. We're glad his ancestors emigrated to America 🇺🇸. The most Irish President of them all, not like the current incumbent. BIDEN is as about as Irish as Tchaikovsky. That's where the wit came from . God rest them all.
Perhaps but Ireland didn’t form him, beyond genes, so it’s not strictly Irish charm, but it’s very 20th century American charm, and more specifically Bostonian.
I was just a kid when President Kennedy was in office but the memories remain bright and indestructible and I will carry them with me until the day I die. He had his human weaknesses to be sure but there was real greatness in him as well. Never the same after that dreadful day in Dallas; we lost so much that day...so very much...
I studied him religiously in college. Read everything. So sad it all ends the same way. But we all go one day or the other. What we leave is what matters.
Great video my mother never got over his death. His son was amazing, but he also lived life fully. He would be my age. Tragic. No President had his humor or wit since except perhaps President Obama who had some humorous moments of self criticism.
Of all the president's who served during my lifetime, JFK was the most exciting and interesting...He, like my father was in the Navy in the south Pacific during WW2 and was considered by both my parents as the future of the country....It was a great time to be alive in America..

JFK was a charming and witty man!! I can now see what Marilyn Monroe, Judith Exner, Inga Arvad, Anita Ekberg, Ellen Rometsch, Gene Tierney, Mimi Alford, Marlene Dietrich, Mary Pinchot, Priscilla Wear, Jill Cowen and last but not least Jacqui Onassis saw in him!! I was 8 years old when John f Kennedy was currently assassinated by different people of that time. I remember before he was assassinated he had a very good sense of humor and that's fine but the thing that all Americans forget that this man family such as his older brothers served in this country's military and gave up their lives for this country to remain free is it still does today and so did John Fitzgerald Kennedy is he join the Navy to fight and to keep America free and when his PT boat was sunk he helped his men get to that Island he went back and forth to get all of his men on that island John f Kennedy gave up his privilege life to serve this country which is more than I can say about this last president ❗. May JFK rest in peace and also JFK Jr. I think the nasty people in this country was afraid that JFK Jr. was going to follow in his Father's footsteps. What made JFK a great president he was a son he was a father he was a brother he spent time with his family and then he had the courage to stand up to Russia when they put the missiles in Cuba ❗💯 he was also kind to people I need fought for justice for all...
