According to Richard Wilkins the only thing better than hearing John at one of his concerts is hearing him at sound check! Loving your Farnsey reactions!
Look at that smile right from the first bar and its a sound check only. We are sound lucky one of the sound engineers flicked the ecord switch 🎉🎉❤❤ Love you John and your band ❤❤
Texas Love… Man this song was John’s sound check, and it was only recorded at the last moment because the guitarist wanted a recording of the song. Awesome 👏 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
He never sung this song at a concert. This was purely a "soundcheck" song some savvy sound engineer recorded. Like no one else in this world would "warm up" to a concert belting this but him. QUEEN asked him to replace Freddie & he said no.
This is his *_WARM-UP_* song!!!! That's the kind of song that most artists keep for the "BIG NUMBER" towards the end of the show. . . He NEVER performed this song live in ANY show he ever did. . Just a warm-up song!!! We are lucky that a sound engineer for the band decided this day to hit "record" and capture it. . .
Robert Plant doesn’t sing it full belting range while John Farnham does. Robert was mostly in his 20’s very early 30s while Led Zeppelin was active , John Farnham would’ve been about 45 here at this time this was recorded during a soundcheck without John’s knowledge that he was being recorded by his team . So John is relaxed here no pressure. So to say I’m Led Zeppelin fan too , but John Farnham just blown Robert Plant away with this
Just shows that John can sing anything. He literally has the best range. He mostly sang pop but could have easily done opera or hard rock. Absolute national treasure
And on that note, I hope you are still doing reactions, I know I’m a bit late to the party but thank you for a wonderful afternoon. Music is my Passion. You’ve really bought it home for me. John, Jimmy and the Bee Gees just great. I’m also a fan of Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp, just to name a few. As you have probably guessed, I’m an Aussie, for decades now I been listening and digging in too the history of all these people. I’ve been asked by many friends, why don’t you set a Reaction’s Channel, I haven’t and I won’t because I don’t think it would be fair. Because 99.9% of the music and history I know well. The last reaction of yours I watched was John doing, Black Dog and yes there is no live version of this. He used it as a sound check with his band and apparently someone recorded it and put it out there. I also like Journey with Steve Perry on lead vocal’s. Thank you for a very entertaining afternoon, I’ve Subscribed to your Channel so if you are still out there I won’t miss you again.🎼❤️🇦🇺❤️🇺🇸🕺🏻💃🎸☘️
John’s true love musically is Rock ‘n Roll, but his concerts are varied to suit the people who attend. Everyone goes to his concerts, young, middle aged and oldies like me. When a concert is announced it’s sold out in no time. We love this man he can sing opera, heavy rock, mid range and the softest ballad. He’s in our thoughts as he faces his toughest challenge yet.❤❤
Love John Farnham. React to Three Dog Night performing "One Is the Loneliest Number", then listen to John Farnham sing it. He's the only other singer that seems to have a strong enough voice to pull it off. And with John being Australian, I'm sure Three Dog Night's name wasn't lost on Farnsey. Hope John is doing better since his cancer surgery. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FdNEKwMf1LQ.html
John and the band used to do this song for a warm up before the shows He has such a unique voice so powerful. He can sing rock and roll, pop, ballards opera and has a background in musical theatre. Was in Jesus Christ Superstar you need to check ot Gethesmane such a strong powerful performance. John's musicians and backing singers so talented and are just amazing together.Great reaction again TL thank you for sharing the music of John for others to discover.
Hey Texas. Just popping in to let you know Jimmy Barnes has today announced he needs to have urgent surgery to his hip and back and he’s cancelled his summer shows and will be out of action for many months!! He hopes to make a full recovery. Love you Jimmy.
I've followed John since 1970 and I have never heard an alternative to that explanation. Black dog was the regular warm up/ sound check exercise and one day someone hit the record button for whatever reason. Thank goodness for that insight.
Apparently, Queen did ask John to sing with them in about 2003 after Brian May and Roger Taylor heard his recording of We Will Rock You. He would have been fantastic.
He was asked to replace Freddy mercury by the band after he passed as Freddy like John voice But John wanted to stay home with his family as this is why he rarely travell overseas So yes your rite he could sing just about any band Their is a live one floating about on here but was poor quality on home camera I seen it on another site a while ago This is the best quality John is highly respected in the intertainment industry oversea even though never did much their he hated flying ✈ But when they came to Australia 🇦🇺 all wanted to sing with him Tom Jones on multiple times doing live Ray Charles Lionel Richie Steve nicks Also many bands as well Home grow artist Seekers Oliver newton John Anthony warlow renowned Aussie world touring opera singer watch their Granada You'll get how to see how good john's voice is and how much fun these guys have definitely tell both Aussies humour I'm not opera person but it's very entertaining with great voices Anthony has beaten cancer himself as well Thanks for showing our talented people
Unfortunately I've never seen him performs live or on video , a shame because they do such a great job . As to him taking over as lead for a headline band he did just that when Glen Sherlock left as lead singer of the LITTLE RIVER BAND and John inherited some of the best Aussie songs ever released , COOL CHANGE being my favourite . . I
Great song, great performance from John and his band, has has a great voice and great range. Love the original song from left Zeppelin, but John puts a different flavour on it.
Late to your party here, my apologies. No doubt a ton of people have told you already that the first person Queen approached after Freddie died was John. I just love your expressive face.
Please react to John Farnham’s ….. ‘One’ ‘Gethsemane’ and ‘All our Sons and Daughters’ ….live versions are amazing . Love your channel . Only follow one other and your styles are completely different but love both. Cheers from Perth Wa.
Not much left to say. Everyone has covered it. John did replace Glenn Shorrock from Little River Band in the early to mid eighties. Check them out performing Reminiscing m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iYgh_Irk46M.html
Rumoured John was asked to join Queen in the mid 90’s after Freddie Mercury died . Queen was a fan and back in the late 70s early 80s Australian band Little River Band used be the support band for Queen on some occasions throughout the world , well John Farnham was the lead singer for the Little River Band from 1982 to 1986 apparently Freddie Mercury and the rest of Queen be side stage watching John sing . Obviously John turned them down , John probably didn’t like idea of moving outside Australia or having extended time outside Australia. Plus in mid 90’s John had a lot other interests in and outside music keeping busy . He had a horse stud breeding horses and he had a recording studio and label Gotham that he just kick started. Plus John already got heaps of negative feedback from being a second lead singer replacement in the Little River Band he probably didn’t want to go through a similar situation again be compared with the original singer . Queen went on a got Paul Rogers from Bad Company for a few years before hiring Adam Lambert . Queen + John Farnham years later in 2003 re-recorded an extended version of We Will Rock You the song was used for promotion for the 2003 Ruby Union World Cup . Yeah this is a soundcheck apparently John was unaware his crew was recording. The original Led Zeppelin Black Dog Robert Plant doesn’t sing the whole song at full belting range while John Farnham does . Plus Robert Plant was mostly in his 20’s while Led Zeppelin was active in the 70’s while John Farnham would been in his mid 40’s here this was recorded in 1994 .
He has had chronic pain in his back and hips for years now and he hit the limits of what he could tolerate in his day to day life, so hip replacement and I think a spinal fusion ( don't quote me on this though , check it out yourselves guys)
Hey mate... did you figure out how to show Vanessa Amarosi 'Heroes' at the Olympic ceremony? Seriously if you need money to do it... just ask us xx or if you need an editor or mod... same again... just ask xx
