Nick, awesome review. Now imagine being a young Aussie kid and growing up with this as your constant example of what an amazing singer is supposed to sound like. Sing any genre, be flawless live and sound 10 times better live than he ever does on recordings. We’ve all been so blessed and privileged to have him in our lives for over 5 decades.

Perfectly put. How lucky we were/are to witness this voice throughout our lives. God I miss him live. If only time could have stood still for him so that he could still spread that gift in person. There will never be another like him. Good singers come and go, but John Farnham is the all round package.

His music really did bring change and is the reason we class him as our national treasure and literally regard 'You're the Voice' as our anthem. He really did stand up for EVERY VOICE, and made us believe that we standing together could get through ANYTHING war, flood, fires, famine, racism and segregation.

The fact that you love his voice, his messages, his showmanship is so beautiful I am in tears!!!! John has just lost his best buddy Glenn Wheatley - the man who quit his own rock star career to rescue John from oblivion. He mortgaged his house to produce "Whispering Jack" and get John out there to be noticed. Glenn and John had been together as Manager and star and best buddies for the last 40 years.... John is over 70yo now and losing Glenn brings home the reality that we will lose John sooner than we'd like.... and the world is only now just finding him! 💖🥲🦘💫

This is such a powerful song and John has such a huge heart and social conscience it’s one of the things I love about him besides his killer voice I heard him sing when I was young Imagine if you can Imagine if the world was one A brotherhood of man I have a dream I heard him say A dream in black and white I have a dream (That all men are created equal) A dream of civil right In days to come we'll see the sun As more than just a star In days to come we'll be as one No matter where we are

Fair dinkum Nic, I, for one, say you don't have to be concerned about how often you stop the videos to tell us what is going on in your mind. I believe that most of us are here for your reactions, descriptions, and explanations so keep pausing the videos as often as you feel the need to; if we really, desperately want to watch the video without interruption we can find it on RU-vid to do so. For me, the fact that your reaction videos are live to recording without edits is what makes them so much more interesting and appealing than any other 'reaction videographer' I have come across on RU-vid. Keep up the great work Nic.

I listen to this song when I want to scream and hurt people. When someone else attacks my beautiful Korean daughter for looking different and no other reason. I was raised to believe we are all the same and I taught my kids the same thing. I listen to this because John makes me calm again. Now I need to know if those days will come before I die. I can’t deal with much more pain from ignorance and hate. Most are just afraid of what they don’t know. God didn’t make a mistake when he gave us our children. They are all exactly right. John makes it better and to keep believing.

John's long-time manager Glenn Wheatley died last week. Before he managed Little River Band, John Farnham and Delta Goodrem, he was in an Australian band called The Masters Apprentices that had hits including It's Because I Love You and Turn Up Your Radio (mostly instrumental). You might be interested in listening to them - a pretty influential Aussie band.

To put in context of Australia back in the 80’s when this was. Australia was very YT!!!!!! So for him to have such a multicultural group is massive! Also to sing about such topics is such a big indication to his character. His vocals I can’t even comment because he can do no wrong in my eyes.

John's talent is undeniable however something that constantly shines through in his music is the acknowledgement that he constantly provides his support crew and background vocalists. In this video alone, I saw his constant support of Lisa Edwards (Angels) who is in nearly all his performances, the American lady of colour Vaneta Fields who had an amazing career in Australia and I believe Jack Jones from Southern Sons fame who was the guy with long hair in the red shirt. John is selfless performer who always attempts to raise those around him and that is one of his attributes that I most admire.

This was actually a different concert from the one you saw where he sung Amazing Grace with Vanessa Fields. He very much shifted the spotlight to the talent of his entire band several times every concert to allow all of their individual talents shine. The guitarist you see in the red shirt is the lead singer of Southern Sons, that you have reacted to already also. He spotlights the band in this concert and gives them a huge shout out if you see the entire concert. I would say that if you want to see how Australians view him though, throughout the years. He performed You're the voice twice at our ARIA awards (our version of your Grammy Awards) and you see how those in the industry with him, view him as such an icon also. I will link them here for you to check out in your own time as I know you have already reacted to the song before. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wLoKt0J1y-c.html - This is the show he is inducted into the hall of fame in 2003 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IGwg8Y8xtuM.html&ab_channel=JohnFarnham - This appearance was in 2016 As for other things to see how he really is as a person, you can find a lot of TV interviews with him where you get even more of a feel for the true Aussie bloke he is.

I'm so glad you watched the live version of this song. The album version is fantastic, but this live version as on another level. I love the references to Lennon, Dylan, MLK and the social / generational experiences of his childhood. The quality of John's writing contributions to the CHAIN REACTION album make it an anomaly in his recording career. This song is very under appreciated; as is the whole album itself. 5🌟s A magnificent piece of work.

It's good to know that you appreciate John Farnham because I've always thought he he was extraordinarily good and the question that always lingered in my mind is why didn't he make it bigger than, Mike worldwide perhaps it was management. Always underrated I believe he's probably the best male vocal that Australia has had. You are right when you say the way he affects people he knows how to touch you with his voice, with his passion for music, how he phrases his songs, and over here he is so loved my all groups. At the moment he's mourning the loss of his manager Glenn Wheatley who in you for years and years and they were like brothers from two different Mother's . Glenn Wheatley actually mortgaged his house to pay for John Farnham album Whispering Jack because he believes so march in John's ability as a singer and how great Whispering Jack the album was going to be. Glenn Wheatley only died about a week ago February 2022, everyone you how close John was to his manager , so at this point of time John would be in a whole world of pain losing him to Covid complications.
