John Farnham talks about quitting smoking, he talks about "The Dragon" (his mother-in-law) and does an impromptu version of Please Don't Ask Me....funny stuff. A couple of tape flaws can be seen but pretty good quality.
Classic John Farnham - that voice, that charm. How lucky we were, and are, as Australians to have seen him on our tv sets, in our local venues over 50+ years. He is so charming and so very Australian. All the ladies in the audience just melted and some of the blokes. Legend
The sad thing is that the overseas people like the Americans will never understand what a true legendary performer and singer John was and is... They really missed out on this man's amazing talent... While some over there may have the talent, they don't have the same charisma or sense of humour or full package that Mr Farnham does... Thanks fot the video post Mr Free The Rocks... I'm always in awe of John... amazing...
Totally Agree and When John left The Little River Band To make His Comback Album Whispering Jack back in 1986 in Australia. His Single called You're the voice Which was the leading Single on Whispering Jack Made a Huge Breakthrough in the American Charts Featuring at number #83 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1990 And ever since then You're The Voice and Some of John's Other songs Made it on the American Charts so John is Known In America Just not as Well as he is in Australia and Canada and the UK and New Zealand But Over in America You're The Voice is very very Well known and Its Huge Especially Now John is Starting to gain fame and Recognition in The USA And Alot of people Know John Farnham and His Legendary Talent over There so Breathe a Sigh of Relief my Friend He is Known lol
Most Americans... not all. I was a huge fan of his when he was with LRB and saw them on tour between The Net and PTW. He is an amazing talent, but except for You’re the Voice I never warmed to his solo material. His voice mixed well with Graeham Goble’s songwriting.
I agree with you...I was an LRB fan in the 80's... and when John joined them I was in awe. The emotion that he can put into a song, even here when he is being silly, is better than anyone I know of. This is my favorite of all his songs, and I thank you for this wonderful clip.
Oh be still my beating heart. I have been in thralled with John since the age of thirteen loved you then and now. I've been lucky enough to have been at your concerts and such great shows. To me you are the best in the world and your humour is second to none. All the best wishes and love fir the future.❤❤❤❤
Great Singer & Video!!!5*s I Love John Farnham's singing..He's got a Beautiful Voice & a Great Personality..I could watch this video over and over again..Thanks Gary
I also have this on tape, as I had it ready when they said John was going to beon Ray's mid-day show. This is one of my favourite songs and I have been a fan ever since he began in '67 when I heard 'Sadie' and only been in Oz a few months at the time. I've saved this to my Favourites, even though the quality isn't the same. Been to lots of concerts over the years, including latest one: Farnham By Demand in Perth, WA.
SO AWESOME! I am so glad to find this footage! My mother and her old best friend are the audience members shown holding two of John's albums! (my mother is the one with the dark perm and red jacket). This is a lovely surprise to find online, and on New Years 2016! I had to take a screen shot! My mum is Frances and her friend is Belinda, they were obsessive "Johnny Farnham" fans. I also have a photo with him when I was little! Thank you SO much for uploading this video, you've made my mums year already and it's only the first day of 2016!!
What a fantastic performer and person, I can't get enough of JF and LRB, thank you so much for posting the videos, I have a smile on my face all the way through this interview! You're a STAR!! Thanx
I don't quite understand your comment. I was a teenager in the 70's in America and at least from my perspective the Little River Band was huge on the charts. The "Live in Melbourne" concert was on HBO in the early 80's and it was quite the big deal. I will agree that there is some talent, but now it's all packaged for promotion and no one has any personality without permission from their agent.

Ummm...maybe you shouldn't talk about a country you don't live in. HE WAS HUGE HERE! I grew up in the 70's and 80's and LRB was being played EVERYWHERE then. We loved him.
