They all feel it, John, his backing singers, the musicians. Everyone. This is a special song for Australians written by Mr Prestwidge from Cold Chisel and originally performed by Cold Chisel. If you get to react to that, it is worth it. Thank you lads. that was such a real reaction...
Oh I love it, NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, makes you feel prouder to be an Aussie than sitting back, watching Farnsy rip into, except for watching people from across the globe discover John for the first time and appreciate his voice as much as we do! He is just a stand out bloody legend! There's a reason we call him The Voice! 🥰 Now, the 2 women in the audience were just fans. John has 2 sons who were in their teens about that time I think. The latest footage of John is from a fundraiser from the 2020 bushfire appeal, if anyone wants to look it up. He still has it another 15yrs or so later...in his 70s or so! Lot less hair, chubbier, but the voice is undeniable! Love him!
Why on earth does my phone always insist on translating Farnsy into Farnsworth?! So Un-Australian of it! We SHORTEN names, we don't lengthen them.. unless they're already 1 syllable names, THEN we do, but it has to be the right circumstances and YOU, my silly phone, do not seem to understand those specific circumstances yet, so keep out of it and leave Farnsy as FARNSY! TBANK YOU! 🤣
Kenny Karlsson yes he’s sung opera lol link below. Australian concert The Main Event with Olivia Newton John and our Aussie Phantom of the Opera, Anthony Warlow. Anthony teaching John Farnham to sing Opera, he’s brilliant and it’s funny lol ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K6uxFKmCXB8.html
Freddie Mercury Stated that John Farnham Was one of the Greatest Male Vocalists To Ever Walk the Earth....Tom Jones Said that John Farnham's voice is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME...Richard Marx Called John Farnham his Biggest Musical Inspiration And Great Friend ...and Lionel Richie Said that John was a World Class Preformer and His voice is Mesmerizing ....Just saying For these singers to Say that about John Tells you something about his Talent He truly Is one of the Worlds Greatest Male Singers Bar none Hes my Inspiration aswell i love John hes a Living Legend 🤙🤙🤙
@@traviscarlson6718 one of the very best male singers of all time in the world. Second place is another Australien singer , guy sebastian .he one of the very best in modern time. Amazing singer.
Boys if you think this is good at 54 you should hear him now, he's 70+ now and he's still rockin the walls down wherever he plays, absolutely f****n brillant. Keep up with the vids guy, love your work !!!!!!
One of his best . In my prayers my Heart as you fight cancer And I was one of your first big fans when you , band played $ 10 entry fee , Chapel St , Melbourne …… I love your voice your songs , You have courage to fight this . You have me right by your side ! 👏👏
One of my favourite versions of this amazing Australian song. John is a very talented LIVE singer and joy to watch. He’s funny and quite the comedian at his concerts
He’s a legend in Australia. USA wasn’t interested (their loss big time) when Your the Voice album came out ( I think) but I’m so glad to see you young guys and girls who do these reaction posts are appreciating his overwhelming talent, and he’s a lovely guy. Check out John singing Burn for You. It’s beautiful. Tina NEILSEN🇦🇺🥰
I saw someone comment in another video he had offers to go internationally but he turned them down because it would have meant he would have had to leave Australia and live overseas- he didn't want to do that- he wanted to stay here in Australia- back then one didn't have a choice to live here and entertain globally, but I guess if this is true, he made his choice- Australia 💪🏼❤️🇦🇺
Saw him play the Whispering Jack album 2 weeks before it was released in my home town with about 150 people packed in a small venue, one of the best live shows I have seen.
John has always said this is one of his favourite songs and he sings it with such passion and strength. Note how far away he holds the mike? Power. Have always loved John's singing and him as a person, but this song just 'blows me away'. It wasn't his wife and daughter ... just enthusiastic fans joining in. John is married (about 40 years) and has two adult sons.
Not his wife and daughter (has a wife, no daughter). He doesn’t do the big concerts anymore just small venues but he is 72 now. Great voice but a really genuine, nice guy - always acknowledged his band and back up singers. Australians have never understood why he was never bigger overseas. His voice and range are superb.
Hey boys, are you John Farnham fans yet? lol He’s been singing here in Australia since he was 18 and is still singing at 70 years years old. Born 1 July 1949.
Aussiekat63 John moved to Australia as a kid, he was 10 years old. But you are right, Sadie was released when he was 17, but stayed at number 1 on the charts for a couple of weeks in the year he was 18.
They're his backing singers, and he always has superb musicians who play for him. That young singer is the daughter of one of his original backing singers from when he was young. He and his wife have 2 sons, and no she's not a singer.
Oh - the did a remake of Jesus Christ Superstar and he sang the role of Jesus and was MAGNIFICENT!! If you are ever out here, and he is doing a tour - get to it (if you can get tickets!) you will not be disappointed. Such a pure tone, and he usually tours with the same group of people all the time. Until a few years ago one of his back up singers was a lady called Vanetta Fields who has sung with Alice cooper and I think Pink Floyd. When ever there is a tragedy such as bushfires etc, he is in there to raise money and help. He was down to his last few bucks when the album Whispering Jack came out - if the album flopped he was going to give up his career. He had been a soloist and had joined the Little River Band for a while but while they did well together, it didn't get him the break into the US he needed. He talked to his mate Michael Gudinski, who owned Mushroom records and he did the Whispering Jack album as a last go around. Thank all that is holy that it worked!
The great Cold Chisel made this song a hit, but they needed two voices (Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss) to cover it's vocal range. Farnsy does it all by himself. An all-time legend!
Hi Lads - so great that you enjoyed an Australian classic. A song by Cold Chisel sung by the great John Farnham. I should point out to though that the song is NOT about war as in a military conflict. It's about the breakdown of a relationship.
Watching you both watching John, I can imagine you both having an absolute ball at one of John’s live concerts , swaying your hands in the air, singing along and cheering 👏👏. Well I did seeing him live in concert and the atmosphere is absolutely brilliant 😁
John Farnham is a Liverpool boy, his family emigrated to Australia in the early 1960's. He is now an Australian legend. See him sing Your the Voice with Celine Dion in Melbourne. Celine becomes love-struck. Watch him sing the Beatles Help song. Cheers, Chris Perry.
Jimmy Barnes (also known as Barnszy) is Scottish, he is in a band called "Cold Chisel" and their music is mind blowing! He also had a solo careeer. This song is Cold Chisels song that John covered. We LOVE John here, he was with another band for a short time called Little River Band..find the songs "Playing to win" and "Down on the border" You'll love them too, trust me xxxx
The first time I met John I knocked him for a six. It was at Sydney airport. We were both hurrying to make the same plane to Coolangatta. I was going for a holiday, he was going to do Carols by Candlelight. I was coming out of the toilet in a hurry, and he was in a bigger hurry going in. I went to Carols to see him perform, and he was relatively unknown at the time.
sopwithpuppy - I had a photo taken with him in 1969 just after he was crowned King of Pop - he was so shy and humble back then - a really nice guy way back then - obviously never changed 👍🏿
Love you guys, Im an identical mirror image twin!! ;) Its a Cold Chisel song (Jimmy Barnes' band) written by the DRUMMER, Steve Prestwich (R.I.P.). This is THE anthem.. Goosebumps from the first line.. Cold Chisel were an Aussie "pub rock" band, this was one of a few beautiful melodic songs they had over the years.. Screaming 4 bar lead solo in the middle section, and at the end.. That high octave, with vibrato, singing with the mic a foot or more away from his mouth.. wow And the cute amazing backing singer is my drummer mates SISTER!!! haha Im glad Im a bass player and not a singer, he would give me a complex! baaahaa
The amazing part about this song is that is was not even his song. It was a song by Cold Chisel. The woman singing backing vocals was actually part of a video clip John did in 1969, well her mum was a dancer and pregnant with her at the time. Check out the Cold Chisel version too or the version with John and Jimmy Barnes from Cold Chisel
John has a vocal range other singers only dream of, and his backing band is made of up of some of the best names in the business. The likes of Celine Dion and Bryan Adams bow down to him. Please do a little bit of homework guys before you rattle off nonsense.
Niiiice!! You should check him out in 1970 with his version of Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head (such a baby faced cutie) and his 1991 duet with Jimmy Barnes When Something is Wrong With My Baby.
John Farnham - Farnsy to us Aussies - would have to be the most loved Australian of all by other Aussies. We all want him as our nextdoor neighbour. He was even Australian of the Year a while back. More Australians have been to a Farnsy Concert than any other artist ever, and most would probably rate it the best concert they've ever been to. I've been 4 times would go again.
John's wife was a dancer not a singer and she has never performed with him. John has 2 sons, no daughter. Mind you, John treats everyone who preforms with him like family.
@@LeeLee-sk2wf I actually got to meet Brett years ago through his best mate at our local gym. Just the most down to earth, nicest & humble guy! What an unassuming talent. I have seen him many times with John & actually saw his home town concert in Castlemaine! I believe he had a music school in LA? Just cool😎👍🏼
@@andrewd7586 Lucky you 😀 I met him briefly once. He was on the same plane as me way before Iphones or I would have grabbed a selfie. I told him I was a Nelson fan and what a great player I thought he was. Seemed surprised I recognised him as no one else did. I saw him with John Farnham in Ballarat. He was amazing.
The singers are the backing singers.Johns wife and children are not in his live shows.John keeps his life very private and there is only one time I have seen his wife and that was in an interview about John’s singing career
If U let it go for a sec longer...he mentions the guitarist...the song is a metaphor for love...oh U did...where are U lads from...sounds Birmingham...I'm Gunna subscribe..love how U get into it.
